One of the best-known food and wine destinations in the Val di Sarentino is the two Michelin-star "Terra Magic Place " restaurant, located within the hotel of the same name. The hotel is family run, run by the brothers Heinrich and Gisela Schneider. Johann Brugger, their grandfather, laid the first stone of this structure, today a fantastic Relais & Châteaux, with breathtaking views of the Dolomites A man - as his nephews describe him, open and modern for those times, a mountaineer with a passion for skiing, who was able to transform a simple refuge for the ski season into a welcoming inn. More than seventy years have passed since the intuition of "grandfather Tatte" and from generation to generation his family has managed to adapt to the novelties of the time and the growing needs of guests. Year after year, the Schneider brothers have dedicated the closing period between the winter and summer seasons, for continuous improvements and restyling works, focusing more and more on an environment friendly approach. The latest renovation showed particular attention to energy saving, starting with the choice of materials, all locally sourced and implemented by indigenous workers. The 10 rooms available at the Relais & Chateaux are paved in wood and are powered by renewable energy, solar and water. Special changes have also been made to the SPA, which has been expanded, with the addition of larger and more comfortable saunas and whirlpools Finally, an outdoor park area was created with a fitness trail and a vegetable garden area dedicated to herbs that will be used in the kitchen. Also from the food and wine point of view, sustainability is the compass of the restaurant led by Heinrich and accompanied by his sister in the choice and research of wines, as a sommelier Here everything is truly zero km, starting with flour, then moving on to meat, cheeses, speck and vegetables. The dishes are enriched with spices from the garden and wisely dosed to enhance the dishes on the menu. An experience in an enchanted place, between woods and the Dolomites, characterized by a passion for food and wine and ancient traditions
