BG Magazine is independent and it does not publish conflicting opinions with the ideal of the magazine nor even for all Lindens in the world. When we speak well, we are good. When we speak ill of, we are the best!

Editorial The first thing that comes to mind when people say “there’s nothing to do in SL” is: “omg, these people have no information at all!” If everybody uses the search option, instead of waiting for parties tp’s, they will see that there’s a huge amount of things to do in SL. There are so many things that we couldn’t experiment everything. We did our best, and had a cool conversation with friends that are role players, the new mania in Brazil. Now, dude, go ahead and see what you are losing being lazy! Talking about losing, we can’t lose the opportunity of using the cool clothes of my friend MimiSoleil Dagger (it’s my family!!!) that recently had her store Mimi a Go Go! attacked by bad, ugly and cheap people. She is creative and talented, and we show a little piece of this, here, to support this very special girl. Love ya, Mimi!!! Bacci per tutti, Alyne Dagger,

I don’t have too much patience to stop and wait for a party tp — who does know me, almost ever finds me in Busy mode. Suddenly a nice idea came to my mind, I typed some words in search and there I went after the unknown. It must be an island that a friend took photos from, or to confirm that something exists in the metaverse, or simply play “word roulette”. You’ll never know where you’ll be in the next second. Every store and place we show in the mag is discovered like this. And when I wear Mimi’s lovely creation, I feel like Captain Kirk — boldly go where no Lucrecia has gone before. (Second) Live long and prosper! Lucrecia Slade

Bono enters the dark stage and people goes wild when he appears in the middle of a red light circle. All band avatars are realistic and perfect, but, to avoid lag, people must go to the show with no attachements at all. Yes, everyone turns noobie just for loving U2.

In the middle of the crowd our reporter Alyne Dagger shows her blue skin and the fan t-shirt. Talking about fans, the U2 staff gives a panel – the only allowed prims. Then said to me, what is the country of the only guy who put the panel out of the standard permitted‌

The show has its “Live Aid moment” when a girl dances with Bono, playing “With or without you”.

When the show is over, we remain wanting more and more! The good thing is to know that they’ll be back again, they’re a huge success and the bad lucky guy is this one that went Away right in time of hearing “Pride, in the name of love”.

An adventure

called Second Life Because a non moving avatar, is a dead one

“People, there is nothing to do in SL...” – who doesn’t hear this phrase repeated again and again by Residents that don’t know all the possibilities of metaverse? There’s nothing more terrible than to think that SL is just a place for doing nothing, or just for party and sex. Used correctly, your avatar can assure you moments of intense fun and incessant action. As the protagonist of your own film, you can choose your own story.

Cover Article

Bora Bora

Do you want to be a wave hunter? On the many beach islands you can surf and play other radical sports, all for free. Bora Bora, that illustrates the cover, is one of Alyne’s Choices, and it has the best surf and radical sports simulations, but is not a place to be alone: the cool thing is to join a group of friends and open a voice conference to mock that friend that lose his surfboard when arriving to land (yes, it happens). If you want to

have a beach in your land, you can buy anything there and transform your place in a surf beach or in a hang gliding station. Another place very cool to go to is Wilder Skies, described in Alyne’s Choices and in the Profile, where you can fly in an airplane or a chopper, participate in a Red Bull Air Race or play a combat through TCS (Terra Combat System) – playing Tom Cruises’ role in the “Top Gun” movie.

Guided tours through beautiful islands are a nice idea, but its more recommended for love couples: Lost Gardens of Apolo, Bliss Gardens, Acropolis, Impressions of Midnight – the list is endless, these islands offer tours, hang gliding, balloon tours and other features, much more than only the blue and pink balls which you use with your loved one. SL tourism is something delicious to experiment; discovering new lands with the search tool or in blogs and sites always guarantees fun and movement that kick the boring time off. A good tip is the Skye Donardson’s Flickr site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/skyedonardson/. She’s a great traveler in SL and takes photos of everything she sees in her trips. Like her, there are many avatars giving traveling tips to all beautiful places that only the imagination of a smart Resident could present us. Another possible adventure is to collect freebies. Fastolph Fredriksson is a master in this art and is always well dressed, spending almost nothing. To be like him and be out of the mainstream the tip is to join the fashion groups and stay tuned on the promotions and teleport raids in special dates according to American calendar: on the last Valentine Day stores like Rac and Redgrave gave freely items that cost more than 1,000

lindens. This Indiana Jones life for freebies is not easy, but you’ll be very happy when you see that the freebie t-shirt of yours is unique. You can’t talk about action without talking about parties. To hunt parties, the trick is joining all the SL electronic music groups. You can follow the same reasoning to find rock shows, concerts and even the most awaited event in SL, the U2

Fast Fredriksson: hunting freebies and parties

show, which happens 3 to 6 times per year and is unforgettable. The Brazilian show for Rita Lee (ex-singer of Mutantes band) had the same structure – we showed it in the last issue of the mag. Now we need to talk about the new mania in Brazilian lands, the Role Playing Games (RPG) games. Since January they grew very quickly. To begin your participation, you can decide which style you like most. Who speaks English have more options, like the well known Avillion Mists, Toxian City and Midian City, or places less known, with less gamers, but still funny,

like Eternity, a medieval combat game, with a Lord of the Rings “flavor”; Maze Town, a place full of labyrinths; and Eternal Serenity, a vampire exclusive RPG game. If you decided to engage in a foreign RPG, read all the rules, observe the place and the Residents and take a good look all around before begin: don’t forget that the islands’ owners have a different cultural background from yourself. Some places have groups founded long ago and, if you are not feeling at ease, go for another choice, in a civilized way. Don’t be impolite because you were not accepted, there are many cool places for your role playing fun. We visited two cool Brazilian places for RPG and had a nice talk with their Residents to know more about the stories and events and we get some basic instructions to those who want to play there. The options are interesting: play in the past, in Cidade do Medo (City of Fear) or in the future, in Tribo Brasil (Brazil Tribe). You can play in the two places, but it will be hard, because there are a lot of events and combats to take part in. And you must be able to speak Portuguese! Finally, let’s agree: the major adventure in SL is still making friends – even it seems so kitsch to read this. The people you make friendship

Capa

with, will be your great companions in any adventure, in any size of it, and the important thing is live it. As Giuly Dayafter said, describing her greatest adventure in Second Life: “Here I lived the adventure of knowing the man of my present life (DJ Bexiga), this love became real, and went to real life, I am living with him now and I am already pregnant of an RL baby. A greater adventure than this is impossible!”

You don’t want to find “the person”, nor have real children with someone you find in SL. But the way you are connected with others in-world will make your experience an adventure or a nightmare, depending on your behavior. For all effects, the best advice for the first or the second existence is the same:

Carpe Diem!

Wizzards of Cidade do Medo

The wizards received BG Mag in their castle and talked mainly about their experiences till now: it’s a new land, not more than 1 month old. Dhara Melnik, Kyliam Lane, MadRico Roux, Medusas Writer, Vandi Schumann and Webduff Constantine arrived in different times to the RPG. Kyliam says that she always liked to play this kind of game; Medusas entered Second Life to write an article about the metaverse; Webduff is a player since he arrived to SL; the others engaged the game after a very conventional way of life in metaverse;

and others, like MadRico, divide their time between game and parties. Everyone is in love with the game and believes that they couldn’t live without it, at this moment. To play at Cidade do Medo, a new one this RPG, means to participate in a complex story that begins in a dark time in the past, plenty of action and bloody battles described in the chronicles available in the main group of the island. This RPG is free joining and you can choose to play as Angel, Demon, Hunter, Neko, Wizard or Vampire.

Nekos, Demons, Angels, Lycans, Vampires, Humans and Supernaturals

The Races of Tribo Brazil

Tribo Brazil has seven races in its game and we interviewed a group of leaders representing almost all of them: Nikavet Mayo e Thundera Rau (Angels); boto Schnyder, Wannezza Campese, ALISS Voom (Demons), DonAndreas Bonetto (Humans); orsiolli Oh (Lycans); Joabe Aaron (Nekos). Some of them have experience in RPG, some played for the first time in SL. Thundera is one of the most admired DJ’s from Ilha Brasil, Nikavet had a beachwear store, ALISS, Wanezzam Joabe, boto and DonAndreas had many phases as Residents, and orsiolli told that he had a very boring life. Build the tribe and founded the island, the group developed in 4 months a post apocalyptical RPG which story tells the events that lead to Earth’s devastation by a divine plague and the fight of the races for surviving and the dominance over Tribo Brasil,

the only fertile and preserved place in the ruined world. No one can imagine their second lives without the game, and for some of them it involves real money and business. Even all of them being a very competitive gamers, nobody mixes the adventure with personal issues or think in messing up friendships for it. Some avatars can be allied in a moment, or be mortal enemies in the next period. Who wants to play in Tribo Brasil surely will be very well received, will receive all orientation from the Game Master of the race you choose, and will learn to use the CCS, that is totally translated to Portuguese and will accumulate points and improve in the game. Tribo’s GMs stands out that no matter what kind of Resident you will choose to be, have land or a store there or not, you have the same chances to improve your level as anyone else.

Alyne Dagger Choices Let’s take a look in the places where you can put yourself in action, but in a different way. You can even use some scenery for a good roleplay — but it is by your own risk, because lands don’t have groups for this. And guess what? This month the Gallery is formidable, with the fascinating Flickr of Raul Crimson – a Spaniard with a wonderful sense of humour and a sexy avatar — and Seide Tripp, the beautiful red haired American woman that mixes images and poetry in her fantastic Gallery (and we publish one of them in this issue).

AD Choices - Unbelievable Places

Time for fun! Train trips, fly in an airplane or go hang gliding, surfing — everything funny that the second life can assure you. Six incredible lands that makes even the most serious avatar flow with the adventure stream‌

AD Choices - Unbelievable Places

Devil’s Labirinth This is an awesome place for those who love horror films. It’s a huge castle with many options of labyrinths who takes you to places inspired in terror films, videogames (as Resident evil or Silent Hill) and even takes you to an X Files-like space ship and a skybox that reproduces a lunar scenery.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Rivata/177/177/45

Kowloon This is a very good reproduction of the real Chinese place that inspired some scenery for Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner”. Kowloon is the perfect place to join friends and perform your own live action (the island houses some private RPG clubs) or simply take a trip through the narrow alleys, taking very interesting photos. And take a look at the stores!

http://slurl.com/secondlife/kowloon/147/11/24

Bora Bora Bora Bora has all the radical sports in the same place: you can surf, windsurf, kite surf, hang gliding over a volcano, and enjoy the landscape, dance in a club, chat with friends, do absolutely nothing‌ This piece of paradise offers all these cool and enjoyable things for free. And if you like anything there, you can buy it – from waves to hang glide, everything is for sale.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bora%20Bora/134/13/22

ZZ Island Zimmy Zual is just a dreamer. He built an entire island full of fantastic and surreal places that mixes something from the original Mary Poppin’s London, steampunk and sci-fi – and you only realize it when you explore this very awesome place. If you like different and exotic avatars, you can’t miss the stores.

Seide Tripp What I am doing in sl with my work? Trying to save the world by bring inspiration to others to create their visions to life. It is my opinion that this real world is built of our collective visions I want to bring more visions of hope and love in others and myself. I want to learn to overcome my own fears and inspire others to do the same. To connect with souls around the world and learn more about our collective consciousness through this.

The words disappear in the mist Your face so clear to me Like my reflection in a mirror Made of built up condensation On the glass of collective dreams My hands feels the moisture Absorbing into my skin The warmth from the reflection Penetrates my soul Deep within a misty dream

Dancing in the vapors I inhale Just to take you in deeper You rush over me Like ancient waters I sink so deep In an abyss of bliss Dancing like a solar atmosphere Powerful radiation in broad bands of Electromagnetic Spectrum

Emerging new magnetic flux Like fields of solar plasm Pouring an outflow of heliosphere Accelerating solar winds Whip around through the fog A dimensional being Energetic points sing In my joints Till my reality is undone (Seide Tripp)

Raul Crimson The first thing that attracted to me to Second Life was the posibilities of creation, and that is still what is the best here. You can create, you can colaborate, you have a 3D space where you can make real (at least virtually real) your imagination. About my art, well, i’m not sure if it can be called art, i just create as a need to express myself, so, if you call that art, then is art. For me the most important in a SLphotograph (well, in all photography) is the story, what lies behind the image, the message itself. To express better that message the most important tools are composition and lighting, and that’s what i try to work specially on my “art”. Even Photoshop is a great tool i think is a bit overvalorated because, in my opinion, the tool is a way to express not a goal itself. I use Photoshop in most of my images, but i like them to look “secondlifish” so the edition is mainly just on jagged images, on aliasing, on some contrast and light.

Niki in the sky with diamonds

By Alyne Dagger. With collaboration of Tinman Heron

Niki Wilder is so busy managing her Wilder Skies and her performance as Top 1 in the air races promoted by the SIM, that our interview was very short – as her time. But it is worth because we can show this amazing place, where you can pilot jets, choppers, air race planes and cars – virtual banquet for velocity lovers.

can you do for fun at Wilder

Niki Wilder:

you explain to our public how does it work the TCS - Terra Combat System? Niki Wilder: Well, Cubey terra made a combat system the id particle hitpoint based it countd

BG Magazine: Anyone

can play at there? Niki Wilder: Yes, sure! Everyone is wellcome! :)

The price for flying in SL is the price of a plane, which could be from 1,500 to 10,000 lindens, depending on the model. At Apolon and Wilder Skies the TCS is for free, then, to begin the battle, you just need to buy some of these beauties that came even with painting and name customizable. Who doesn’t want combat, can achieve just the pleasure of flying in the air races, but we advice: win over Niki is difficult because she has the best racing time since last year.

Sports, games, adventure, adrenalin – who likes it wants more! We show here some looks and stores that can make your experience in Second Life much more intense.

A sport that is growing in RL (and in SL) is ultimate fighting. But if you don’t want a heavy training, begin with the traditional: boxing. A store where you can buy clothes and equipment is Averlast. There you can find clothes for sparring, muai thai, and even vale tudo for the girls.

Averlast

Brazilians and soccer, the fashion that doesn’t fade. At Taff’s Sports you can find the uniforms of the most admired soccer teams of the world, mainly British and UEFA’s teams. One thing you can have fun is the vendors – all models are newbies. ^^

Parkour has its roots in the training of the French Army called “le percours du combattant” (the soldier’s path) and the sport became very popular after Madonna’s video clips. A store – that is not official – is Nike, with comfortable and casual clothes for the best performance.

Nike 1st Store in SL

Kimokeo Cove (103, 187, 21)

Who plays RPG and like games in general knows this store for sure. Tonktastic is placed in a skybox, over 2,000 meters high, and has what people consider as the best male RPG clothes in SL. Bomb packs, cloaks, pants, boots, hats, and protection glasses – they are sensational! But radical girls can make her shopping there too; you just search carefully your item.

MadRico wears clothes by The House of RFyre, rings by GSJ and shoes by Husky GFX

The House of RFyre is aristocrat and elegant, with clothes for goths in general, but it counts with a fascinating series inspired in antique History. Egypt, Crete, Rome, corsairs and the French Court are wonderfully represented and if you are a VIP client (as me) you have constant updates and have the best at your disposition.

Hya, Noobish guys!!! Still interested to learn the only language which never sees the sun goes down? It is very stupid, but true: the only idiom talked as official language in countries of the 5 continents - who cares? - is Portuguese. But here we’ll teach you not the Luis de Camões or Fernando Pessoa great Portuguese literary, but the very useful chat tips with a cool Brazilian accent. Nothing against the “pure” Portuguese from Lisbon and Coimbra, but the high literature ever is used in chats. So, Noobies, ready for the second lesson? Here it goes: expressions to use when you want to say “YAY!!!”

When someone invites you for a very cool party at the beach, with all your friends, you say...

OBA!!!

It means you just want SO MUCH to go.

Do you know how to say “wow in portuguese?

You are a surfist. The only word you have to know to describe amazing waves is...

The big trouble is to find the perfect waves.

GO... ... and now a country redneck version for the great song from Elvis, the King...

but don’t call me Go to that “unlosable” carnival party, but don’t call me because I don’t want to spend lindens in a pathetic prim abadá*. Go to that sexy party, but don’t call me to see that nude parade of oiled avatars, with the same sex appeal of a horse fly. Go to the virtual maternity hospital, but don’t call me to show me the sonogram of your voodoo baby and even less to make me its godmother. *Abadá is a costume sold for participants of Bahia Carnival events.

Go to that land where all unoccupied people meet to have those “cool” conversations, but don’t call me when you hear that boring woman playing the fatal voice, and the suckers saying: “hi, how much time do you have in SL?”

Do you want to try this new dance with me?? I have a chimera!

Go to that famous RPG on an old party land, but don’t call me because I laugh myself to death watching those ridiculous clothes and those strangely tanned vampires. Go to that lagged land, but don’t call me to watch that couple dancing with no sync, separated by 2 meters of distance from each other. Go to that in-world business workshop, but don’t call me because I’m not interested in spam from any group that thinks SL is a “great opportunity for advertise their brand”. Go participate in that cover girl contest, but don’t call me to vote for you for the 1,937th time. Go to that costume party dressed as SpongeBob, but don’t call me when people began to elect the most original costumes, because I saw more than seventy SpongeBobs all around.

Go to that virtual cult church, but don’t call me when they pass the donation bag.

Go to that game land, but don’t call me to lend you 10 lindens to put in that sploder.

Go to that political assembly of the XYZ candidate, but don’t call me if you don’t want to hear the 250 most shaming insults ever invented.

Go to marry the woman of your life, but don’t call me when you began to discuss about who’ll take the sex bed when you sell your land.

Go to any stupid event in SL, but don’t call me because I don’t have a head of a sucker.

Linden *~*

Most beloved people... Yes, this page is personal and intransferrable. Hanakin Saiman was the FIRST friend I made in Flickr, my favorite fox furrie, my beloved kitsune. She’s a little away from SL, but her Linden is guaranteed!!! (I stole a photo from her Flickr)

Thereaver Barrymore is the one: a beautiful person in and outside, with a really zen talk, and is a Bad Girl for all occasions. She also works hard for the U2 and Rita Lee’s shows.

Who doesn’t love Bersot Balut and his wonderful Cine Alexandria? The best initiative in SL Brazil – divulging top quality animation movies, with free entrance – moved to a better place. Pay attention and retarget your landmarks for the new address, now at Ponta da Praia Island.

Vos Quinnel is a very nice person who was born in Luxembourg whom I met in Flickr and who became my friend and student, because I’m trying to teach him Portuguese. One thing he understands already: Beijos, Vos!

Cloe Despres is my beloved Drama Queen. Please, don’t get her as an emo, because you’ll be in a HUGE mess. I made a big mistake placing her ultra noobie photo in Rita Lee’s show and almost got a spanking. To apologise, I put here her neko look in the last BG party.

Giselle Trevellion is my friend and a chimera partner too! She deserves all lindens because she works hard in Second Life, to make her store a big success.

Alyne Dagger

LAG -____Test 1) This lady skin is: a)a body suit made entirely of medical socks b)a buttered Frankfurter sausage c)a giant caramelized banana d)a bad try of being sexy e)seems to be all the alternatives, but is just a big mistake of Photoshop’s operator

Why when someone talks about “costume party” some people believe that it means bring all weird stuff out from the inventory and make some looks like this? Someone can explain it to me?

Two big examples of mistake concentration: Do you want to be a neko child? Ok, but with that boots, no way! They are cool, but not for this shape. And my friend, piercing is ok; surf hair is your option; gangsta necklace, ok‌ BUT NOT ALL TOGETHER NOW! You look like a punk sambista! The horror champion of the month is this guy at our right: the shape is AWFUL, it seems a bodybuilder with no training at all, skin is not a great thing, the oil only gets things worse and, to complete, this pathetic pool suit is badly edited. So help me, Saint Calvin Klein, patron of underwear!
