Final Project Boards My intentions when beginning this brief was to get fully involved in my drawing process, I felt as though I hadn’t properly explored drawing in depth since last year. Using sketchbooks is a very important part of this process, I draw fast and quick to get down as much as possible, and then I reflect & continue. I was nervous when beginning this brief that the sketchbook process I had been so involved with last year wouldn’t re-appear it took me a little while to gain my confidence back but when it did the sketchbook process of this brief was really exciting!

Final Project Boards The other side of this self-directed brief was the character development. I felt like I could let my drawing skills run wild with this character and I spent a long time drawing him over and over again so my hand will never forget. The character side shows my personality as a creative person, I want to engage people with fun and charming moments and I have achieved that with these resoluations.

Final Project Boards I wanted to step away from A-size standards and so I opted for a square format which complments the images without letting them float around in space too much. The single spot colour gives the image some depth while also letting the hand drawn scrappy nature speak for itself.

Final Project Boards The colouring book compliments the tone of the book and encourages people to draw when they feel grumpy. The pencil images of my finals work really well as a starting point for a colouring page.

Final Project Boards These slogans echo the message of the book in a playful manner and can be used across all advertising media and promotional work.

Final Project Boards The ‘Grump Off’ slogan has the ability to become synonymous with the book as in the same way book brands such as ‘Where the WIld Things Are’ have capatalised on thier sayings and slogans.
