WHAT IS ASPERGER’S? Asperger syndrome is defined by Autism Speaks as “an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) considered to be on the ‘high functioning’ end of the spectrum.” Those with special needs are an underserved community, so it’s important to do our part to raise awareness. Autism Speaks is a global organization that funds research causes, prevention, and treatments for autism, as well as advocates for the autistic community.

On a local level, Autism Florida is responsible for helping families find information, support, services, and other resources in their community. For more information visit autismflorida.com.

At Orlando Shakes we offer the opportunity for students with and without special needs to work together in a summer performance camp called Shakespeare with Heart. Shakespeare with Heart provides a safe environment for all young actors to learn and achieve. The camp concludes with campers performing together in a Shakespeare play. CAST BIOS Ginger lee mcdermott* (Senga Quinn | 2nd Season) Ginger Lee is happy to be performing in her second full production with Orlando Shakespeare Theater. She was previously seen at Orlando Shakes as Molly in Bad Dog and the 2013-2015 PlayFests as Anne in (a love story), Senga in Dancing Lessons, and Franny in Man in Snow. Other favorite roles include Sister Aloysius in Doubt, (Garden Theater), Brooke in Other Desert Cities, Elsa in Road to Mecca (Mad Cow Theatre), Bianca in Othello (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre), and Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible (Steppenwolf Theatre). She would like to thank everyone at Orlando Shakes and Mark St. Germain for the gift of being a dancer again.

Steven lane* (Ever Montgomery | 4th Season) Steven is delighted to be back at Orlando Shakespeare Theatre after appearing in A Christmas Carol last season. He fell in love with Mark St. Germain’s plays after playing C. S. Lewis in Freud’s Last Session at Mad Cow Theatre and seeing OST’s fantastic production of Best of Enemies. Other Orlando Shakes productions include The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby and Into the

Woods. Favorite roles include Man-in-Chair (The Drowsy Chaperone); Che (Evita); Cornelius (Hello Dolly!); Morris (The Heiress); Bride (Titanic); and Lovborg (Hedda Gabler). He performs at Disney and Universal where he’s never without some form of a British accent. Thanks to Jim for this wonderful opportunity and Lauren- the best teacher in the world. CREATIVE TEAM BIOS Eric T. haugen** (Lighting Designer | 21st Season) Through his company, Luminous Design Studios, Eric has designed the lighting for numerous theatre, television, architectural, and themed entertainment projects over the past 25 years. Eric has lit many productions at Orlando Shakespeare, beginning in 1995 with Othello and The Taming of the Shrew at Lake Eola up through last season’s production of Julius Caesar. Eric’s lighting has also been seen Off-Broadway in New York in several musicals including The Ark and The Prince and the Pauper, as well as around the country at many regional theatres. LD-Studios.com Steven mitchell (Set Designer | Debut Season) This is Steve’s first outing with Orlando Shakespeare Theatre and he is thrilled to get the opportunity. As an Orlando native he remembers well its former incarnation as a science center and he designed numerous shows across the way at the former Orlando Civic Theatre (now Orlando Rep). Since those early years he has worked and lived in many cities from NYC to Los Angeles to Santa Fe. Recent designs include: American Stage-Intimate Apparel, In The Heights, The Rocky Horror Show, St Pete Opera: Susannah, Norma, Freefall Theatre: One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Cabaret, The Actors’ Gang, Broadway, Exit The King, The Mark Taper Forum’s New Works Festival: American Bullfighter, Berkshire Theatre Group: The Einstein Project, WBTT @ The Historic Asolo: Dreamgirls. Art Direction for: Walt Disney Entertainment, CBS Sports, Universal Creative, Nickelodeon Studios, Sea World Entertainment. Steve currently lives in St Petersburg with his terrifically-talented, jewelry-designing/fountain-choreographing wife, Traer Price and two cats.

Mick O’Neill* (Stage Manager | 4th Season) Mick is excited to be back for another season at Shakes. Most recently he has

worked on Les Misérables & Monty Python’s Spamalot. Musicals are his passion, but Mark St. Germain is quickly converting him to a fan of plays where people don’t sing. britt sandusky (Sound Designer | 10th Season) Formally trained at Orlando’s Audio Recording Technology Institute, Britt was the Audio Engineer for Les Misérables, and has designed the sound-scapes for many Orlando Shakespeare Theater favorites including The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Othello, Sense and Sensibility, Race, The Importance Of Being Earnest, The 39 Steps, Shotgun, Schoolhouse Rock Live!, and Robinson Crusoe. His film credits include Foley artist, re-recording engineer, ADR supervisor, dialog mixer, and sound effects supervisor.

Mark St. Germain (Playwright) Mark St. Germain has written many plays including Freud’s Last Session (Off Broadway Alliance’s Best Play Award), Camping With Henry And Tom (Outer Critics Circle and Lucille Lortel Awards), Forgiving Typhoid Mary (Time Magazine’s “Year’s Ten Best”), Johnny Pye and the Fool-Killer (AT&T “New Plays For The Nineties Award”), Scott and Hem in the Garden of Allah, and Dr. Ruth, All the Way. Television credits include The Cosby Show, Crime and Punishment, and The Wright Verdicts. He was also a scriptwriter on the CBS Daytime serial As The World Turns. As a personal project, St. Germain directed/co-produced the documentary MY DOG: An Unconditional Love Story, featuring Richard Gere, Glenn Close, and Lynn Redgrave. As a dramatist, St. Germain shows a strong preference for historical fiction, bringing to life historical events and personalities with vivid, imagined dialogue. kristina tollefson** (Costume Designer | 10th Season) Kristina is an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida in Orlando where she also serves as Associate Chair and Undergraduate Coordinator for her department. In addition to her work at UCF, Kristina has designed costumes all over the country including Maples Repertory Theatre (MO), Orlando Repertory Theatre (FL), Purdue University (IN), Summer Stage Repertory Theatre (TX), Phoenix Theatre Indianapolis (IN), Florida Children’s Repertory Theatre (FL), Prairie Repertory Theatre (SD), Emporia Summer Theatre (KS), Sioux Falls Playhouse (SD), South Dakota State University (SD), the East Dakota Water Development District (SD), and the UCF Alumni Association (FL). She holds an MFA from Purdue University in Costume Design and Technology, and a BA Degree from South Dakota State University in Theatre and English. cynthia white*** (Director | Debut Season) As Associate Director at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Cynthia created their play development program and directed Ballerina (a play about an autistic child), Woman in Mind, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Toys in the Attic, and Voice of the Prairie, as well as the world premier of Emma’s Child (Kristine Thatcher). She has directed at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Pioneer Theatre Company, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and many other regional theatres and universities. Most

recently she taught and directed at Western Washington University. In August, Cynthia joined the Orlando Shakespeare Theater team as the Director of New Play Development. She also serves as an instructor at UCF.
