Join us for a free, family-friendly event with arts and crafts, games and the Easter bunny! Food trucks will be onsite.

Easter egg hunts will be offered for children ages eight and under. Hunts will be divided by age.

Games, sports, activities, crafts and more await you! Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided; children must bring a lunch. Space is limited; sign-ups are on a first-come, firstserved basis. Optional before and after care is available.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS MOVIES ON THE LAWN - FREE

CDO Riverfront Park, 551 W. Lambert Lane Friday, April 29, 5 – 9 p.m. Spectator ticket: $5 at the event

Join us on the lawn near the driving range for an outdoor movie on our large inflatable screen! Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a night out with family and friends. Attendees are welcome to bring outside food and drink.

To enter your band, submit an original demo or YouTube link to dhiatt@orovalleyaz.gov. Deadline to enter is March 31. Selected bands will perform a three-song set in front of a live audience on April 29. A panel of judges will select the winning band, which will get to record one song in a local recording studio and have it professionally edited/ mixed. Prizes also awarded for second and third place.

Children will hike, build forts and learn about the Sonoran Desert. A morning and afternoon snack will be provided; children need to bring a sack lunch. Camp is held at the park’s group area, with shaded ramadas, restrooms and picnic tables. Optional before and after care is available.

Children will spend time on horseback and will learn about horse behavior, language, interpreting what the horse is thinking, horse care and grooming, equine anatomy, colors, and breeds. Emphasis is placed on the relationship with the horse and safety. Helmets and boots will be loaned to students as needed. Instructors are well trained in their riding discipline.

Upon completion of this course, participants will have received all certifications needed to begin working as a lifeguard. This Red Cross certification course includes training on lifeguarding, CPR, AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration.

I Can Too! is Oro Valley’s program for young people with disabilities. Through the use of activity modifications and greater staff-to-youth ratios, participants will have the opportunity to play alongside their non-disabled peers.

RED CROSS LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION COURSE

Date: March 18, 2022 Times: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Ages: 15+ Fee: $50 This course is designed to renew currently certified Red Cross lifeguards. Red Cross re-certifications include lifeguarding, CPR, AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration.

The Oro Valley Community and Recreation Center is a 52,000+ square-foot facility located in the heart of Oro Valley. The center features more than 50 fitness classes a week, a child watch area called the KidZone, a full suite of cardio and strength equipment, free weight area, two racquetball courts, aerobics spin bike room, yoga studio, six pickleball courts, 31 lighted tennis courts (Pusch Ridge tennis court access for premium members), two 18-hole golf courses and a lap pool. The center also has reservable meeting and event space, a golf shop and full-service restaurant/bar. The center offers two membership levels as well as drop-in daily use for a fee.

The Oro Valley Aquatic Center is Southern Arizona’s premier competition-level facility. Amenities include an 18 lane Olympic pool, a six-lane recreation pool, 130-foot water slide, a splash pad, four springboard diving boards, family changing rooms, shaded bleachers and rest areas. Pools are heated year-round. The facility also has indoor and outdoor space available for private party rental. A variety of membership options are available, whether you’re an avid swimmer or just looking for a family activity. Membership includes access to weekly aqua classes.

El Conquistador Golf boasts two, 18-hole championship golf courses: the Conquistador Course and the Cañada Course. Additionally, El Conquistador Golf operates the 9-hole Pusch Ridge Course located at the Hilton El Conquistador Resort. These courses provide challenging, exciting play that is sure to deliver a true desert golf experience, with course enhancements designed by the original architects Greg Nash and Jeff Hardin. El Conquistador Golf is open for public play seven days a week and also offers a variety of memberships at the individual, family and corporate levels.
