Oro Valley’s Premier Public Transportation Service
Your Voice, Our Future Your comments on the Your Voice draft plan are in! Thank you to everyone who submitted comments on the Your Voice, Our Future General Plan Draft! Your comments help ensure the Plan reflects the needs, values and envisioned future of the community. The three resident committees that have guided the creation of the Plan thus far are reviewing your comments and building the next draft.
The Town of Oro Valley is constantly hearing of people who are still unaware of their public transportation options in the Town. Oro Valley’s Sun Shuttle Dial-A-Ride service can be a low-cost alternative for families who want to avoid the expense of owning a second or third vehicle. The emphasis is on “public.” Many residents do not realize the Dial-ARide service is available to all residents. In addition, most people are not aware that residents are picked up at their homes and dropped off at their destination. For more information visit http://www.suntran.com/sunshuttle/shuttle-route.htm To book your trip visit: https://www.orovalleyaz.gov/online-services or call 520-229-4990.
Business Spotlight: Breadsmith
Expect to see the Your Voice, Our Future “Recommended Draft” (90% Completion) in September! The draft will be presented to the Planning & Zoning Commission October 6 and 20, and Town Council in November to determine if the plan is ready for consideration by Oro Valley’s voters. Stop by to comment! Want to know more? Join the community conversation at YourVoiceOV.com or email YourVoiceOV@orovalleyaz.gov.

If you want to open a family bakery, you’ve got to love bread… and one another. Family forms the hand-shaped, hearth-baked, madefrom-scratch grist of Breadsmith, open in Oro Valley since March 2015. Wisconsinites Janice and Mike Kruziki moved to the community several years ago. They love it, but saw a void. “We thought this was a good spot for a bakery,” Mike said. When son Jake, trained as a baker, graduated from college with a degree in biochemistry, he moved west. Together, the Kruzikis opened this Breadsmith franchise. “It’s something awesome and rewarding we can do together,” Jake said. “And it’s something we could be passionate about.” Breadsmith creates artisan daily breads, specialty breads, pizza dough, granola, dessert breads, cookies, muffins and scones. “It’s like the old neighborhood bakery,” Jake said.
