Know Your Town’s Budget

ORO VALLEY MAYOR & COUNCIL Joe Winfield, Mayor Melanie Barrett, Vice Mayor Joyce Jones-Ivey, Councilmember Josh Nicolson, Councilmember Rhonda Piña, Councilmember

The Town of Oro Valley, and local governments across Arizona, kicked off the new fiscal year July 1. Preparing for this annual reset is a deliberative process that lasts more than six months and culminates with adoption of the annual budget by your Town Council. The FY 2019-20 adopted budget totals just over $111 million, and supports the quality services and amenities that residents have come to expect, ensuring the continuation of our outstanding quality of life here in Oro Valley. Since the actual budget document is quite large, the Town has published a user-friendly overview of the budget called “Know Your Town’s Budget.” This two-page summary document gives residents a broader picture of where their tax dollars are being invested, so we invite you to take a look! You can find it on the Town’s website at www.orovalleyaz.gov. Just click on the “FY 2019-20 BUDGET” button located under the main banner.

Back-to-school safety It’s that time of year again! Most of our schools are back in session the first week of August, so we’d like to remind the community to please be cautious when driving as there will be an increase in the number of children walking and riding bikes. The Oro Valley Police Department has provided the following safety tips:
