On October 24, the Town of Oro Valley, in partnership with Pima County and the Regional Transportation Authority, broke ground on a new roadway project to widen La Cholla Blvd. to four lanes, from Overton Road to Tangerine Road. The project also includes multi-use lanes, traffic signals, multi-use paths, ADA facilities, drainage improvements, landscaping and accommodations for wildlife. This project is part of the RTA plan approved by Pima County voters in 2006. It is funded by a voter-approved, countywide half-cent transaction privilege (sales) tax, with contributions from Pima County and the Town of Oro Valley. The anticipated completion date is summer 2020. For more information, visit: www.lachollaimprovements.info.
