As of June 12, 2023, Oro Valley’s new Town Manager Jeff Wilkins is officially on board and has been hard at work, getting to know Town staff and community partners. For 27 years, Jeff has dedicated his career to local government, most recently serving as Director of Administration and Treasurer of Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio for about five years. Prior to that, he served more than 15 years as County Administrator of Kendall County, Illinois, a fast-growing county comprising 12 incorporated cities. Jeff holds a master’s degree in public affairs from Indiana University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from DePauw University.

In an earlier press release, Wilkins stated: "I am humbled by being selected by the Town Council. Everyone I've met has been very gracious and proud of Oro Valley. I believe Oro Valley is a community of excellence, and I look forward to working with the Town Council, staff, and citizens to ensure Oro Valley continues to be a great community to live, work and play."

Welcome to Oro Valley, Jeff!

NARANJA PARK EXPANSION PROJECT

Access more Oro Valley news, events and activities at our website: www.orovalleyaz.gov

Can you believe it’s been a little over a year since the Town broke ground on the Naranja Park expansion project? Since the groundbreaking, the earthwork for the entire park has been completed, fields 5 and 6 are finished and ready for planting, work on the reclaimed water irrigation and field drainage system is done, and crews started work on electrical and light installation, plus other behind-the-scenes projects to make way for the upcoming construction projects! The final phase of the Naranja Park Expansion includes construction of the splash pad, pickleball courts, skate park, pump track, parking lots, restrooms, and paving the north portion of Musette Drive, which will become a second entrance into the park. Lots of exciting construction projects to look forward to! The expansion project is on schedule with an anticipated grand opening in Spring 2024.
