When you think of the Oro Valley Stormwater Utility, you probably conjure images of monsoon storms and running washes. But in addition to handling flood mitigation and management, the staff in the OV Stormwater Utility is working hard year-round, handling everything from pollution prevention to construction site runoff. Your quarterly stormwater assessed fee of $4.50 per month (per equivalent residential unit) helps fund the personnel, equipment and capital improvements to ensure Oro Valley is a safe community that is in compliance with all federal and state mandates. In the spirit of continuous improvement, Oro Valley Town Council recently passed updates to Town Codes regarding floodplain and erosion hazard management. These changes resulted in the Stormwater Utility’s completion of an updated Oro Valley Drainage Criteria Manual, which will be available online by March 1. Now available: 2021 Popular Annual Financial Report

New CVAP vehicles on patrol

The Town of Oro Valley is pleased to announce the publication of its Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021. Each year, the Town of Oro Valley produces an Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), which outlines the Town's financial position and operating activities, and includes audited financial statements; however, due to its length and scope, the ACFR is not very reader-friendly. In order to make the Town's financial information more accessible to the public, Oro Valley began producing the award-winning PAFR in 2012. The PAFR includes a summary of accomplishments, net assets, activities, revenues, expenditures, debt and financial ratings and a snapshot of historical trends in these areas. To view the PAFR online, click here or search for PAFR at www.orovalleyaz.gov.

The Oro Valley Police Department’s Citizen Volunteer Assistants Program (CVAP) is returning to patrol with a fresh new look! You will now see these newly designed vehicles around town, as volunteers work to support public safety in our community. A big thank you to all the CVAP volunteers who provide assistance in many ways, including: fingerprinting, traffic control during special events and major crashes, Darkhouse checks, Dispose-A-Med events, National Night Out, and so much more! To learn more, click here or visit www.orovalleyaz.gov and search for CVAP.
