Your Voice, Our Future wins national award The Your Voice, Our Future project is representing the Town of Oro Valley well! In September, the project’s Public Participation Plan received the 2014 Silver Circle Award in Citizen Participation from the City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA). The project was also recognized at the annual State of the Town Luncheon by Mayor Hiremath as an example of responsive government. Thank you to all our participants and volunteers! As part of Phase 2 “Let’s Think,” the committee meetings started in September, and a successful Economic Development Forum was held October 3 with the business community and stakeholders. Stay up-to-date by checking out YourVoiceOV.com. You can track the committees’ progress, join the community conversation and comment on the latest versions of the committee work.

Always lock the doors to your home and your car, and never leave your garage door open. If you will be traveling this season, consider signing up for the Oro Valley Police Department’s Darkhouse Program, which provides a weekly courtesy home check when you will be away for seven or more days. When shopping, keep your wallet and purse close at all times. Never leave personal items in a shopping cart. Make sure nothing is visible when leaving shopping bags or other personal items in your car. Be aware of your surroundings.
