September Celebration of the Arts

ORO VALLEY MAYOR & COUNCIL Dr. Satish I. Hiremath, Mayor Lou Waters, Vice Mayor Joe Hornat, Councilmember

It has been 20 years since the Town of Oro Valley passed its 1% for public art ordinance, which states that 1% of the total budget for every new construction project or expansion of existing projects must be allocated for public art. The wisdom of this ordinance ensured that public art would become an integral part of the Town’s arts and cultural offerings. It also created a foundation upon which arts and culture have grown and expanded in those 20 years. To mark the occasion, the Town of Oro Valley invites residents and visitors to a month-long Celebration of the Arts, including a lineup of free concerts, art exhibits, and free admission days at Tohono Chul Park and the Children’s Museum Oro Valley. View the entire calendar of events at www.orovalleyaz.gov.
