POPULAR ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT
Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2018
It’s budget season in Oro Valley, and that means staff is hard at work, preparing the FY 2019-20 Town Manager’s Recommended Budget. The Town Manager is tasked by ordinance to present a balanced budget to Council every year, and that will occur on April 17. Residents will also have several opportunities to weigh in on the budget by attending any of the public meetings (listed below). In the meantime, we invite you to learn more about the Town’s financial picture by checking out the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR), a condensed, user-friendly version of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. The PAFR includes a summary of accomplishments, net assets, activities, revenues, expenditures, debt and financial ratings and a snapshot of historical trends in these areas. Just visit the Finance Department’s page of the Town’s website, and click on the image of the PAFR cover (pictured here).
The following budget-related, public meetings take place at Oro Valley Town Hall, in Council Chambers, located at 11000 N. La Cañada Drive. Can’t make the meetings but want to share your input? Please contact Constituent Services at ask@ orovalleyaz.gov or 520-229-4711. •

Your government @ work
Survey results are in!
We decided to start a new feature, called “Your government @ work” to highlight some of the outstanding service that is being provided to residents by Town of Oro Valley employees. This month, we’d like to highlight the Oro Valley Water Utility for their quick response to a water main break on February 27 around 3 a.m. As the residents in Desert Vistas Estates can attest, water was fully restored by 5 a.m., and it was “business as usual” by the time most people woke up to begin their day. Soon after, the Town’s Public Works staff (pictured above) was on site to begin repairing that section of roadway. It’s all in a day’s work, and our pleasure to serve!
The results from the Town’s first FlashVote survey are in! Thank you to the hundreds of residents who participated and helped us gain a broader understanding of which parks, recreation, arts and culture programs/facilities you use. To view survey results, visit: https://www.orovalleyaz.gov/town/ departments/communications/survey-results. The Town will continue conducting these one-minute surveys about once a month. To make sure you don’t miss the next survey, sign up at www.flashvote.com/ orovalley. Prefer the phone? Just call 775-235-2240.

Say hello to the newest member of the Oro Valley Police Department: K-9 Diesel! Diesel will replace K-9 Emerson, who joined the OVPD in 2011 and recently retired due to age and health. Thank you to Long Realtor Lisa Bayless ($12,000) and the Canyon Del Oro Kennel Club ($3,000) for their generous donations which funded Diesel’s purchase and certification.
In case you missed it... Oro Valley Police Chief Daniel Sharp recently authored an article in the Explorer Newspaper about the dangers of distracted driving, and how the Town of Oro Valley has helped set the bar for state-wide ordinances. If you missed it, you can still read it in the “News” section of orovalleyaz.gov!
