eventy-Five years ago, eleven Hollywood workers were not happy with the service they received from local banks. They decided to do something about it. Each of them contributed $5 to found the first credit union in the city and now the only financial institution headquartered in Hollywood. This not-for-profit credit union began with a simple idea: put their members’ needs first. Sun Credit Union has changed a lot over the years, but it has always put its members’ best interests at heart. Sun Credit Union is a financial institution that is owned by its members, not shareholders. Traditionally, they offer loans with lower interest rates, and provide higher rates on savings, with fewer and lower fees than banks.
