EARLY VOTING IS OPEN AUG 13 - AUG 21
he 2022 Florida Primary Election will be held on August 23, 2022. This will be the first election since districts were changed as a result of the redistricting process. Redistricting takes place every ten years following the United States census. Political districts for state and federal offices are determined by the Florida Legislature based on a number of factors including population and the political objectives of those in power.
Closed Primary
Visit the Broward County Supervisor of Elections website to locate your voting place, confirm your voter registration status, and view your sample ballot. Florida is a “closed primary” state. In partisan office contests in a primary election, a voter may only vote for the candidates of the party in which he or she is registered. That’s
why different ballot styles exist in a primary election. The voter’s ballot style is tied to his or her party affiliation. Voters registered with no party affiliation (NPA) are not eligible to vote for partisan candidates in a primary election.
Early Voting
Early voting is a great way to cast your ballot ahead of time and works exactly the same way as voting on election day. Except, any Broward voter can vote at any early voting location. Early voting for the August primary election is from August 13 through August 21, 2022. Early voting is open from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm.
