Santa Clause is Coming to Town! 2nd Annual Weston Santa Parade is a Hit

L

ast December, at the height of COVID lockdowns, Weston resident Mark Buscemi gathered a group of his closest friends and pitched an idea: since everyone needed to maintain social distancing and most holiday-related events had been canceled, why not bring Santa to town with an impromptu 2-vehicle Santa parade. The team jumped into action and the first Weston Santa Parade was born. Flash forward a year, and a new Weston tradition has been born. Mark, was again, the big guy with the red coat riding in “sley” a Saab convertible, which was followed by the “reindeer mobile,” a truck with “elves” throwing out candy canes and treats for all who wanted them.

The parade kicked off in Executive 1, flowed through several neighborhoods before ending at Weston Town Center. Kids of all ages were touched and excited as Santa drove past. It is pretty clear that this won’t be the last time we see Santa driving through the streets of Weston. Yet another reason Weston is a

great place to raise a family. The Santa & his elves team included Weston residents Mark & Annette Buscemi, Cheryl & Bill Ritter, Roberta Kenworth, Ron Bevins, Tammy Blake, Joan Cook, Marylou Woods, and Phil McDorman. One thing is for certain, nobody put coal in their stockings!
