CHISWICK DOG SHOW

CHISWICK

Dog Show Jan Preece

The 16th annual Chiswick House Dog Show is going to be held (paws crossed) on Sunday 26th September this year and will, as usual, be held on the cricket pitch in Chiswick House grounds. This show is run by a team local of volunteers for the enjoyment of the whole community - the aim being to raise money to maintain and improve Chiswick House grounds.

John D Wood are sponsoring the show again this year, and the ring sponsors are Dog Town, Butternut Box and Wolfevets. There will also be the usual raft of surprise celebrity judges present (in previous years these have included Michael Ball, Mel Giedroyc, Ant McPartlin, David Tennant, Callum Woodhouse, Wayne Sleep, Neil Dudgeon, Richard Lintern).

It’s a (free) fun day out for all the family – and you don’t have to own a dog to come along and enjoy it!

As well as a beer and wine bar, there will be the usual range of food stalls. Another 50 or more stalls provide the usual eclectic range - pet portraiture, canine charities, local artists, dog treats, RNLI, and every form of dog accessory imaginable! And the ever-popular Chiswick House & Gardens’ cart with fresh produce from the Kitchen Garden will be in prime position.

Classes range from Prettiest Bitch to My Dog’s Got Talent, and from Best Groomed to Best Veteran. There will also be the usual range of puppy classes – for all those people who have added a new pet to their home in the past year! It costs just £4 to enter a dog into a class – BUT THIS YEAR REGISTRATION HAS TO BE DONE ON LINE – keep watching the website for more details: www.chiswickhousedogshow.org.uk The theme this year is (what we had planned to celebrate last year) - 50 years of Glastonbury! Those entering the Fancy Dress competition (for adults / dogs / children) please take note!
