& How to Answer the Questions

PART 1 GENERAL QUESTIONS

Tell me about yourself and SWOT! tell the interviewer about you; your hobbies, activities, family, college life, etc! Also you have to know your SWOT and try to tell them honestly.

What do you know about our country? please search some information about the country like the food, music, famous place, traditional things, etc so you can answer this question easily and make them impressed ;)

Why do you choose this country? you can answer this based on the information about the country. For example, you are interested and want to know more about the country, etc. (be creative!)

What do you know about this project? please read the job description of the project carefully! You have to know what you have to do in the project, things that needed for the project, etc.

Why do you choose this project? you can answer this based on your passion and interest. For example, you love children so you want to teach kindergarten kids about english and indonesian culture, etc.

PART 2 SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

Note: the interviewer may ask you problem solving questions refer to the project job description. For example: If your project is about teaching kids, the question will be: • What will you do to get attention from kids?

think creative! Prepare some games, dance, songs, picture, etc for the kids so they will pay attention and they can learn. • Next, the interviewer probably ask you about the details of the things you prepare for the kids. So, prepare well! • What will you do if the kids need something, but that time the translator is not around and the kids do not really speak English?

find your way to help the kids! For example: use body language, etc

PART 3 CASE QUESTIONS

• What will you do if nobody picks you up at the airport?

try to give an answer that show yourself as independent and well-prepared person! For example, ask for direction to the place before you go to the place, etc. • What will you do if you don’t have EP buddy to accompany and show you around the city?

you can answer this based on the question above. Show that you are independent! • What will you do to overcome culture shock?

Appearance • Wear proper clothes. No need to wear suit and tie or even sparkling gown, but at least don’t wear your obsolete (belel) t-shirt. Look as best as you can. Ex: Wear polo shirt, shirt, or any good casual wear • Comb your hair so it would look neat. • Check your self in a mirror. Is there still any chilli between your teeth? LOL Make sure you look great. 

Behaviour • Smile, smile, and smile!  Greet the interviewer with excitement and talk to them as friendly as you can. They love it! • RELAXXX • Look them in the eyes – good eye contact It shows that you give them good attention. Don’t act like you’re searching for geckos up in the ceiling. If you do, they will think you’re not confident enough and feel bored. • Ask for their permission if you want to ask or write something. Be polite! • Don’t mumble too much (Hmm.. Emm… Apa ya.. Hmmm) !!

Be Yourself! You will be doing yourself no favours if you try and suppress your personality, or pretend to be something that you aren’t.

AFTER INTERVIEW What to do?

Ask: ask about the ANNOUNCEMENT. The announcement usually takes 3-5 days. If after 5 days you don’t get the announcement, ask the interviewer. • If you are REJECTED, don’t be sad because you still have a lot of opportunities to get! Don’t forget to thank the interviewer and ask the feedback (so you know if you have some mistakes and you won’t do it again in another interview)

• If you are ACCEPTED, then you HAVE TO: 1. Sign EP AN on EXPA! LC Host will ask for your Exchange Participant Acceptance Note (EP AN). Go ask your EP Manager if you still confused. Some LCs will give time limit to send EP AN, so, give fast response! 2. Receive TN AN! After you send your EP AN, ask about their TN Acceptance Note (TN AN). You have the right to receive TN AN within 10 days after you send your EP AN. 3. Get IL! Look for visa information in the country. If the embassy ask for Invitation Letter (IL), ask the interviewer (usually TN Manager) to send you Invitation Letter for visa application.
