Letter from the Editor

2015, the year of the hour was for me, a year of collaboration for the sake of Entertainment, Fashion and Art. I could only attribute this to my new title as Young Hollywood Editor, that allowed me to bring to you public figures, literature, and reconstruct the Celebrity Profile for the digital age. This position let me access all my interests and putting them to a unique use. Doing this has given me a permanent inspiration that I hold with me when selecting people, art, and fashion to introduce to our readers. 2016 will be even better and at the risk of sounding cliche--even bigger. Keep listening, and keep learning. With love, Dio Anthony, Young Hollywood Editor

INTRO Our big 100th issue is also the last issue of 2015, and it is double the size. We believe that this time we are really showing what BELLO mag is all about, we are covering all the subjects we care about. We have picked, as always, people we believe that you should be intrigued by, and we had tons of fun doing so. Emily Bett Rickards was already in BELLO mag several years ago, but this time we believe that she has grown into an amazing cover girl. She is beautiful, talented, so genuine, and vey approachable, exactly like BELLO and how we would like to see our selves. She embodies the spirit of what we are trying to achieve with this publication, and we are happy we could do this very edgy, black and white fashion story with her. We would like to use this opportunity to thank all of you for following BELLO mag through another year, and also to thank all the people that have collaborated on creating a load of amazing content this year. We wish you very happy holidays, and looking forward to seeing you in the New Year. Cheers, Aleksandar Tomovic Editor in Chief

Kappa Talk THE ONE CLASS WE WISHED THEY OFFERED IN WALLACE UNIVERSITY’S CURRICULUM. BY DIO ANTHONY

THIS FALL, RYAN MURPHY GAVE US THE MOST DELICIOUSLY CAMPY COMEDY WE’VE SEEN ON TV SINCE NEVER--THE UNIVERSITY SET, BUBBLEGUM THRILLER, SCREAM QUEENS, INSPIRING CHANEL AND DICKIE DOLLAR SCHOLAR COSTUMES NATIONWIDE ON HALLOWEEN. Scream Queens introduced a group of girls that nearly expelled those who came before them into oblivion. Who are they? The Chanels. Played terrifically by Emma Roberts, as Chanel #1, former Bello Cover Girl Billie Lourd as Chanel #3, Abigail Breslin as Chanel#5, and Lea Michelle as self proclaimed double agent Chanel #6. As you know, Chanel #2 is dead. However, In 11 episodes, Murphy and his co-creators took us on a multiple month long journey full of graphic untimely deaths, and the jokes to come back from them. Here is your guide to SOME of Bello’s favorite Scream Queens quotes, presented chronologically by episode. WARNING: Most if not all of these quotes will spoil the series for you. Illustration by Jacopo Manfren

“And when Zayday, just happens to fall down a flight of steps, or drown in a retention pond..” - Chanel #6

“Chin up, Chanel, at-least you wore something nice today. You’ll be on gawker by sundown.” - Chanel Oberlin

EPISODE 5, SEVEN MINUTES IN HELL: “Oh, don’t judge me for staying alive, we all know you’ve been cozying up the 10

Predatory Lez because you think she knows Karate.” - Chanel Oberlin

“Early Gray was a good man. With powerful arms and a sexy accent!” --Zayday Williams

“Are you a Lesbian number three? Because while I get that lezi pledge is kinda cute in a, if Bruce Lee were a DJ kind of a way. I don’t think we should be having sex with pledges!” - Chanel Oberlin “It’s not your dad and his 1986 Miami Vice 5 o’clock shadow! It was the killer!” - Chanel Oberlin

EPISODE 6, BEWARE OF THE YOUNG GIRLS: “I could’t show my face on Campus, so I’ve been finishing up my education online” - Feather McCarthy “You just can’t let dead people get you. They’re super pissed off they’re dead so they’re coming from a place of anger.” - Chad Radwell “Not only would your attempt on my life have failed. It would have also made me skinnier.” --Chanel Oberlin

EPISODE 9, THANKSGIVING:

“I know what you’re thinking. Why is Chanel, the goddess of fashion and telling it like it is, being tormented by fatties with bad haircuts and horrible shoes?” --Chanel Oberlin “Number six. Hi! Everyone on campus but me is a dork.” --Chanel Oberlin “Yes, a totally innocent man who seemed super nice and probably did nothing wrong at all just got blown up in our living room. Bummer. Now, let’s honor his memory by moving on!” — Chanel #3

“I put it in the meat-locker, duh. It’s where we’ve been putting all the dead bodies.” --Chanel Oberlin

“Plus, are you gonna make, like, a habit of just, like, pushing people down the stairs? ‘Cuz I think we can agree, not the most adult form of conflict resolution, Chanel.” --Chad Radwell

“I have to go right now. Some guy just swiped right on me on Tinder. Chanel, this has never happened. I called the company because I thought the app was broken.” --Chanel #5

Modern Thanksgiving, at-least in the Swenson family, is basically a tinder date. It looks so good, inviting, the possibility of a real connection. But when you actually arrive at the Swenson’s Thanksgiving door, the whole thing is just fat, upsetting and disappointing.” -- Chanel #3

EPISODE 12, THE FINAL GIRL(S):

“I have killed for love, Chad. I have killed for our love.” --Chanel Oberlin

“Why is it called Italian style Chicken Cacciatore? All Chicken Cacciatore is Italian-style!” --Chanel #3 “A bunch of my sorta friends have been killed and no one has asked me about it!” -- Chanel #3

EPISODE 10, BLACK FRIDAY: “All they’re going to do, is look at Gigi’s severed roasted head, and say it has nothing to do with the killings on Campus.” -- Chanel #5

“A decomposing male body was found, with rippling abs and a possible gay face that appears to be a match for one Boone Clemens. That’s right, y’all! Hot damn, Shazam! Boone is dead!” --Denise Hemphill I’m all for Number 5 being the killer. She’s a weird psychopath who would look like Boone’s homely, bloated sister if she let her horrible black roots grow out.” --Chanel Oberlin “Look at these hippos. These are not my peers. I’m a hot, rich, skinny chick, which makes me entitled to a jury of hot, rich, skinny chicks to see how awesome I am and to see that the three of us are innocent!” — Chanel Oberlin December 2015 - BELLO

4. DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL. Lead actress, Bel Powley is a force to be reckoned with, it’s just a shame it took us till 2015 to realize that. This film is a heck of great time. The kinda of great time you can’t stop talking about.

24-YEAR-OLD BRITISH ACTOR DOMINIC SHERWOOD IS ABOUT TO BECOME THE APPLE OF EVERY TEENAGE GIRL’S EYE, ONCE SHADOWHUNTERS PREMIERES ON ABC FAMILY’S SOON TO BE FREEFORM, ON JANUARY 12TH—BASED ON THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS BOOK SERIES BY CASSANDRA CLARE.

The English actor who you’ve likely seen emulating James Dean in Taylor Swift’s Style video earlier this year went through quite the rigorous workout routine to work himself up to tip-top, heartthrob shape. “I’m skinny like a rake naturally,” he jokes. “So, I had to change to soldier body, which took some doing! It was high intensity muscle training everyday for two months before the shoot, then every free moment whilst filming! Such fun but not easy.” The series, stars Sherwood as Jace Wyland, Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane, and Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway. It’s a hefty cast for sure, something ABC family, home to the wildly successful Pretty Little Liars is used to. Pretty Little Liars wraps up and comes to a close in 2016 after nearly 150 episodes, making space for the network’s new baby. Like Liars, Shadowhunters is set to be a blend between the book, as well as completely original content. It’s a technique designed for success, and a technique Sherwood enjoys, having read one of the books to get to know his immortal counterpart. 19

I had to understand the world of the Shadowhunters, who Jace is, his relationships, his past, and who all of the characters are,” he explains. “That was all covered in book one, but I don’t want to know where he goes. As you mentioned, the original material is what I prefer to work from. I must say it was wonderful to have such great source material as a base.” So what is Jace like? if you ask Dominic Sherwood, Jace is full of opposites. “He is arrogant yet sensitive, powerful yet caring and a warrior but also a lover! I couldn’t think of a better way to describe him,” he says. Sherwood, who also co-starred in 2014’s Vampire Academy, another book series with an enormous following isn’t the slightest bit shy of declaring his own super-fan status, when asked if he has a soft spot for any current franchise. “I definitely have a soft spot for The Hunger Games!” he quickly admits. I Love me a bit of JLaw, he says. “But as far as being a fanatic, I’ll save that for my own series! Which in that case, I wouldn’t call it being fanatical, I’d call it being proud! Don’t miss Shadowhunters, on Freeform— January 12th, 2016, at 9PM.

“Crazy Pills” 18”x 24” This painting was about the rising number of people who, even in great museums, only see art through their phones and Gumby thinks this isn’t a good thing.

I’m obsessed with your work, and all the elements found in it. How would you even begin to describe it? First, thank you for being obsessed, I really appreciate it. One way I describe my work is calling it ‘Contemporary Pop Culture Still life.’ My goal is to be an artist of our time, which means describing, documenting, and commenting on what’s going on. That can be a big task, so one of the reasons I’ve been limiting myself to the still life genre is to make that task manageable – so I’m only going to paint things that I can place in front of myself. What inspired you to go down this route as an artist? 37

I first got into still lifes after a trip to Amsterdam where I was blown away by the 17th Century Dutch still life painters, and I thought that the still life genre would be a good place to improve my painting technique and at the same time I felt there was a lot of untapped potential there as far as subject matter. Still lifes have generally gotten a bad rap in the history of art. It’s the first thing you learn to paint in school, so people think you should move on from it to ‘better things’. But with the amount of ‘stuff’ that is out there now, you can have compositions that are as complex with meaning and drama as any other kind of painting. So, that’s part of what I’m trying to do – be a champion for still lifes – it’s probably because I’ve always

liked the underdog. I’ve been a cubs fan all my life, so there’s the proof. Your paintings are very meticulous and the colors, very specific and unique at times. What tools do you use? There are different approaches to painting method, like some painters will paint from ‘general to specific’ where they start with larger brushes, block in forms and shapes and then they start to refine. I describe my painting style as ‘specific to specific’. I use mostly brushes whose size labels say ‘0’ and ‘000’. I’ve tried every other method I could think of while I was in school and this gets me the results I want. I often use a magnifying visor to, hopefully, save my eyes in the long term. December 2015 - BELLO

What is your philosophy as an artist? Well that’s a big question that could probably take a book to answer completely. I try to make work that is interesting to me, you know, that I would want to come across in a gallery somewhere and think, ‘I’ve got to have that – it speaks to me.’ I think when an artist does that then the work will be generally always good and genuine. I’ve been lucky so far that galleries haven’t tried too much to guide me in what I’m making, so I don’t have to do work that’s not me, but I think they realize that’s not a great idea if they want good work. It’s also important to keep challenging yourself. I’m still trying new approaches and techniques to my painting as well as trying different mediums, so that helps keep you fresh. What’s your work process like? I like to have several paintings going at the same time because I work in layers that need to dry, so I can always have something to work on. I have a back “Benedict Brady” 12”x 12” This painting was about the ‘deflategate’ with Tom Brady and the Patriots football team.

“Put some more on the one” 36”x 36” YOUNG HOLLYWOOD issue - BELLOmag.com

38

“The Primaries” 18”x 24”

log of ideas for paintings, but I like stay flexible, so if I come across a news story or an object in a shop, I can move that new idea to the front of the line. I’ll often also have to then buy/acquire all of the stuff for the still life and that can take a little while to find the right object. Then I’ll set the still life up in my studio and take the reference photos that I mostly work from. I work from the photos because I don’t really have the space to have 4-5 still lifes set up at the same time and some of the food I use in my work goes bad quickly. I set up a salad for a recent painting and it lasted about half a day. Is there a particular meaning behind the little cakes often seen in your work? It depends on the work, but besides representing excess and things you 39

shouldn’t eat very much of, they also have that nostalgia association with childhood, better times, etc. Any shows, exhibitions or projects your particularly excited about at the moment? I had two great shows within the past five months at my galleries in Santa FE and Atlanta, so I’m getting a little bit of a breather now. I never seem to have time for it, but one thing I’ve been wanting to do for awhile is to make some sculpture to compliment the paintings. Just like my paintings are an updated version of the centuries old tradition of Dutch still lifes, my sculpture would also have that old but new connection as well. If I got up earlier in the mornings I’d probably find time for it.

Is it possible for you to name a current favorite piece of yours? If so, why? There are a lot. I just finished a politically-themed painting that has Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders playing the game, ‘Rock ‘em, Sock ‘em Robots’ against each other. I had to get creative for the Bernie Sanders and Ben Carson action figures since they don’t make those. I also just had one in my Atlanta show that was a commentary on how much money has been made on Star Wars toys and how Disney is cashing in on that now. I like when I can make a painting say something that is about what is going on ‘right now’, and that uses objects/ideas from the past to do it. December 2015 - BELLO

How

OLD do you feel?

FOR MOST OF US, THE FACE IN THE MIRROR IS THE PAINTING IN THE ATTIC. WHEN I HAVEN’T LOOKED AT MYSELF FOR A WHILE, I FORGET WHAT I LOOK LIKE, AND WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE SEEING WHEN THEY TALK TO ME. AN INVIGORATING THOUGHT OF FREEDOM, PERHAPS, OR A SCARILY TRANSIENT REALITY? For many people, their mind and cognitions are always younger than they actually are. Even myself, at the tender age of 28, still consider myself to be 23. It is life stages that count for me, and I am about to move into my next one, with a depth of trepidation.

For many people, it’s very difficult to uncover the age they actually are inside their body, how old they actually feel. This grey area seems to confuse people within their own bodies, with mixed messages about how to live their life, what to strive for next, and whether that

hillside country cottage really is what they should be aiming for, anyway? Mine is one of the first generations that believe life is different, that there can be everlasting endeavor for achievement and beauty. I expect many previous Lulu during the Commonwealth Games in 2014

generations thought the same, and I tend to think as we all grow into responsibility and a resentment for ‘getting older’, we carry with us, this hard-fought belief that life will always be sweet, there are no boundaries for happiness, and things do change as we grow into future decades, but this is a ticket for growth and exploration, rather than depression and anxiety for what lies ahead. You can all probably think of an ever-lasting celebrity, the likes of Lulu, and Madonna come to mind, whom continue to defy the odds of achievement, as they grow older. Let this be a passage for freedom and a realization that age isn’t a recipe for stereotypes and historic apprehension.

Choosing the best is really hard because, surprisingly, the food was incredible good. This is coming from a foodie who takes her meals very seriously. If you decide to go outside the property, then you must visit Coco Bongo. This club is not your average dancing spot. Besides a mix of Hispanic and crossover music, they offer Broadway-style music and acrobatic performances worthy of any theater in New York or Las Vegas. From The Beatles and Michael Jackson, to Beyoncé and Madonna, they pay tribute to some of music’s greatest hits and unforgettable dance routines.

CHIC By Royalton All-Exclusive ResortAll Inclusive delivers in every aspect. From delicious meals and tasty drinks, to all-night dancing, gorgeous beaches and over-the-top pampering! If you decide to visit with a large group, I recommend the CHIC Mansion. An AllIn Luxury Experience inside the resort, but allocated privately, where you will enjoy all the amenities of a VIP service and accommodations worthy of a rock star! Visit www.ChicPuntaCana.com for more information on the resort and to book your stay.

I recommend the Scuba-Doo Experience. An all-day tour that takes you by water around Punta Cana. It begins with the Scuba-Doo, an underwater bicycle that works as a mini-submarine. You are submerged but your head is in a pressurized helmet which allows you to breathe freely under water. Probably the coolest way to snorkel. Then, you take a glass-bottom boat where you can see corals and fishes while tasting Mama Juana. At night, visit Excite Sports Bar & Lounge, the club at CHIC by Royalton Luxury 65

ART

Joel Arthur Rosenthal:

The Fabergé Of Our Time BY BRENT LAMBERT PHOTOS BY OZSEF TARI AND KATHERINA FAERBER

IN HIS 1932 BOOK ART & ARIST: CREATIVE URGE AND PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT, RENOWNED PSYCHOANALYST OTTO RANK -AN INTELLECTUAL GIANT OF HIS TIME, AND CLOSE FRIEND AND COLLEAGUE OF SIGMUND FREUD -- EXPLORES THE RELATIONSHIP OF ART TO THE INDIVIDUAL AND SOCIETY AT LARGE.

“Religion springs from the collective belief in immortality; art from the personal consciousness of the individual,” he writes. “Creativity begins with the individual himself -- that is, with the self-making of the personality into the artist.” With this in mind, one can begin to unravel the inextricably linked work and personality of the man who is arguably the greatest living jeweler in the world -- legendary American-born and Parisbased icon Joel Arthur Rosenthal, otherwise known by the three letters JAR (no periods). His shop which is located in Paris’s Place Vendôme has no signage, no window filled with his creations, and as any of the handful of wealthy clients who have been fortunate YOUNG HOLLYWOOD issue - BELLOmag.com

piece to a client if he feels it won’t look good enough on her. His craftsmen in Switzerland and France produce only 80 pieces per year, and the prices start at no less than $30,000. It’s been said that only 250 women in the world actually possess a piece of his jewelry. As Isabel Lloyd of Intelligent Lifenotes: “The occasional JAR piece will appear at auction, and when it does there’s fighting in the saleroom: earlier this year fierce bidding for a sapphire, amethyst and diamond ring from 1988, estimated at $376,000 - $590,000, led to a final price of $784,500.” A notoriety like this would be the end of most artists’ careers, but definitely not JAR. The unwavering quality and exquisite craftsmanship of his jewelry have placed him in an exclusive Pantheon alongside Cartier and Tiffany, and he has built and empire of timeless glamour and beauty that has almost no equivalent in today’s market. In her 2002 profile of JAR, Barbara Amiel elaborates on the source of JAR’s famously wicked disposition: “With his complicated mixture of arrogance and enough to be invited inside can attest, the store has no regular hours. At 72, Rosenthal has meticulously built a reputation as the Fabergé of our time over his 39-year career. He has also built a reputation as one of the most notorious mercurial-tempered divas of all time. With so much demand for his product, one could almost forgive JAR for having a prima donna attitude that is one-part Queen Elizabeth, one-part Greta Garbo, and one-part Courtney Love. Once when one of his rare clients came into his store to request her earring fittings be changed, JAR threw the jewels out into the street and slammed the door behind her. And when asked by the Louvre in the Paris if he would be interested in them mounting an exhibition of his work he laughed in their faces. He even refuses to sell a 67

vulnerability, Rosenthal reminds me of one of those few vicious saints who want all or nothing. Or as a poet wrote: ‘These lost souls are out of the reach of God. He cannot give them all because he too has to stay in business.’” Looking through his body of work, which is equally as vast as it is impressive, a pattern begins to emerge and we realize that JAR’s most beloved muse is the relationship between the flower and the passage of time. His creations capture flowers budding, flowers cracking open to bloom, flowers in full bloom, and flowers withering towards their death. It seems ironic that an artist with such superficial tendencies could produce works of such phenomenal aesthetic and poetic beauty, but it most certainly would not be the first time. If the history of art has taught us anything, it’s that we as a society have a tendency to revere the artist as much as the art itself. The cult of personality which surrounds the artist also inherently surrounds the work, and vice versa. Has four decades of JAR’s infamous reclusiveness and fiery persona helped build the phenomenon that surrounds him? As Amiel observes: “If the jeweller is very disagreeable to them [the client], they may think this proves talent. The ruder he is, the higher his value must be, and the more secure you are as a consumer in being among his chosen. Peter Carl Fabergé used a similar approach as a successful self-marketing device.” Whatever the case may be, one thing is for certain -- when it comes to Joel Arthur Rosenthal the bloom is still very much on the rose. As Otto Rank once wrote, “The artist not only creates his art, but also uses art in order to create.” 69

Dear Morgan BY MORGAN STEWART

EVERY YEAR AS THE YEAR COMES TO A CLOSE, WE TEND TO REFLECT ON THE EVENTS THAT HAVE TAKEN PLACE OVER THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS. PERSONALLY FOR ME, THIS PAST YEAR HAS BEEN ONE OF MY MOST CHALLENGING ALONG WITH BEING ONE OF MY BRIGHTEST.

As I look back and remember everything that happened, I instantly smile- which makes me feel a certain amount of gratitude. I’m sure it won’t come as a huge shock to many of you that my brightest moment of 2015 was definitely my engagement. Very few people get to be proposed to the way I did. I know every proposal is special and unique in it’s own way, but I have to say I’m quite biased about just how good mine was. It’s one thing to keep a secret, it’s quite another thing to pull off an entire mission, involving fifteen plus people. Four of them holding cameras! With the good, obviously (and always) comes the “bad”. As lucky as I have been over 2015, it has definitely come with its fair amount of YOUNG HOLLYWOOD issue - BELLOmag.com

hardships. Friendships of many years crumbled. It was definitely the year of shedding relationships combined with some serious self reflection.I have a pretty good grasp on the person I’m becoming, flaws I have to work on, and most importantly what I expect out of friendship. My advice for going heading into 2016 is to pay attention to yourself. Learn about What makes you who you are, what habits you need to change and really try to evolve. Don’t make it about a New Years resolutions, but more about a fresh start to discover things about you!

IN 2012, EMILY BETT RICKARDS BURST ONTO THE HOLLYWOOD SCENE LIKE A SHOOTING STAR, LEAVING THE WORLD NO CHOICE BUT TO ADORE HER AS ARROW’S GO TO TECHIE FELICITY SMOAK. NEARLY 100 EPISODES LATER, THE 24-YEAR-OLD CANADIAN IS STILL GOING STRONG, WITH THE GENUINE, CHAMELEON-LIKE PERSONALITY THAT SOARED HER TO TV ROYAL STATUS IN THE FIRST PLACE. COMING OFF A JAM-PACKED YEAR FULL OF WORK AND FRIENDSHIP, I CAUGHT UP WITH RICKARDS BEFORE THE END OF 2015, AND WE CHATTED ABOUT HER OWN ADORATION FOR FELICITY, AS WELL AS HER PHILOSOPHY ON LIFE AND GROWING OLDER.

Four seasons on a show is a pretty hefty time. What sticks out to you when you think back on your time on Arrow? When I look back, it’s very much like a Blooper reel in my head, because of all the things shooting the series has taught me. This has been my longest experience on a set. Developing friendships with our crew for the past four years has been wonderful. I think of moments from season one, like David Ramsey slipping on set one time, because there was something on the floor that apparently looked cool, but then became a hazard after that incident, [laughs]. I think of shooting in the freezing cold, and thinking, yeah this is what I love to do! while wearing a mini-skirt, and stilettos. Or filming in a warehouse that ends up looking like a casino inside. Just the whole magic of it all. Those sort of things stand out to me. What was it like playing patty in Brooklyn, she’s such a departure from Felicity in all elements. It was cool, not only because it was a period piece, but because everyone was committed to having the project be as authentic as possible. We were even using old school curlers, wearing six-seven layers under our wardrobe because they wore such extensive

83

undergarments. And of course, cone bras. Every little detail, the set, the lighting. It was such a different and unique experience for me. The part of the film I was in was shot in Montreal. I love Montreal, so I was super excited to be back there, and then to have it turned into Brooklyn for the movie was such a treat. Arrow fans, and comic book fans in general are very devoted. Sometimes blurring the lines between Character and Actor. How are you and Felicity the most different? You know, probably the environment of Felicity’s life has to be one of the more distinct elements between us. Felicity is also a couple years older than me, and she’s engaged. It’s hard for me sometimes, not to play the relationship, but to look down and see this rock on my finger while we’re sitting in our cast chairs ready waiting to film. That is just not at all close to my life. For some reason, I feel like that represents a very traditional, beautiful gesture—the ring and the marriage. Not that it wont necessarily happen for me, but as I child I never really pictured my wedding. So we’re different in that sense. Because she would think about that as a child. We hide behind different things, if she were to hide behind her computer, I would hide behind my dog, [laughs]. I do like to think that I’m a little bit December 2015 - BELLO

more coordinated than she is. I like to think that I don’t always say the wrong thing at the wrong time as often as she can tend to. But to get real, ever since Felicity entered my life, I do that more often than I used to. After a few years you do kind of blend together, and she has definitely made me stronger. Just in the way that she drives her life. Can I ask you about your love for Scream Queens? I always find it interesting when Actors on shows with devoted fanbases have their own devotions to a series. That show! Cheers to the writers on that show, because they clearly come to work and get to do whatever they want to do and write what they want. Then it’s delivered perfectly by the actors. I love the show. I didn’t think It was going to be my show. Three episodes in I called up my friend and admitted to them..yeah I like this show. The affair is similar in the sense that as characters, and as people, you wish you said certain things when you look back on something. I think that show does a brilliant job at playing with that idea and with perspective. Whet can you tell fans about the last scene with your character, while they wait for the series to return in January? She is sincerely in danger. Felicity is right now completely not on this planet. So, it’s going to be a little bit of a devastation, and it will be interesting on how it’s dealt with. You have to keep in mind how strong she is, and hopefully that strength will prevail and keep her around. How do you stay in such fantastic shape? Thank you! I work out a lot. I work out very early in the morning, and 85

every late at night, depending on our shooting schedule. I also have two trainers, Brady Roberts and Thomas Taylor. Brady and I have been working together for two years, and Thomas and I started training this year. I just try to keep really active. I enjoy hot yoga and running. It’s a battle though, because you never feel like you’re in your best shape, that’s the problem. Just recently we shot a 14-hour camera day and I had to work out around six thirty in the morning. The thing is is that, if I hadn’t, that focus of surviving the day, it channels into your work. I think it’s having that relaxation while you focus that makes my relaxation and focus in a scene all the more better. I find that I’m more dialed in, when I’ve had time to build that focus in the morning. It helps with the job! [laughs]. With this issue, 2015 is coming to a close at BELLO MAG. How was your year? My year has been a huge transition. Which is something that can be expected when you’re in your early 20s. It was full throttle, and now coming to the end of the year, I think just within the past week I might’ve gotten a grasp on it, [laughs]. Overall the year was a success and I’m excited to see what next year brings. I don’t think I necessarily enjoyed 23, then 24 happened in July. Since then,I feel like I’ve rerouted. I wouldn’t call myself together, I don’t think anyone would be quick to say that, [laughs]. However, I definitely feel that being together is something that usually happens in your 30s. I feel like people in their 30s, they may not have it together, but they have balls! Your 20s are years of discovery and action and trial. While your 30s are for execution. I feel like I’m getting pretty good at action and trial, but I haven’t quite hit execution yet, [laughs]. I like to remind myself that it’s all a learning experience at the end of the day.
