INTRO When we started BELLO mag, we decided to always to be nice no matter what, we did not want to critique or make fun of anything or anybody. If we did not like something we simply would not write or report on it. This was 8 years ago, and over time we were happy to see others doing the same, as it is important to be kind to each other. Also, the magazine has hepled us meet so many amazing, creative, and fun people, and we praise ourselves to always try and work with nice people. as well. This month’s cover embodies all of these qualities, and he is also one of the nicest peopel we have ever met. His wife, who also came to the photo shoot as support, Alexa Vega (who was also in Bello mag in 2014), is up there, fighting for the spot in our hearts as one of the nicest people we have ever met. This is another special issue, and we are so happy to have Carlos PenaVega on its cover literaly a few days before Grease Live will air on Fox. We were obsessed with Grease the movie, and cannot wait to see this live version of the show. Beside Carlos, two other BELLO covers are in this version of Grease, Aaron Tveit and Keke Palmer. I cannot believe that the month of January is almost over, but I am also happy for this and upcoming covers to finally be out, as we are so happy with the talent we are getting to feature on our covers. But it is not all about our choices, we invite you to send us your pitches at @BELLOmag, and we promise we take all your requests to heart.
Ciao, Alek Editor in Chief Aleksandar Tomovic

SINCE NOW Swedish Soul | Swiss Heart WRITTEN BY JON NORRIS
A CELEBRATION OF TRADITIONAL SWEDISH DESIGN, BRAVUR HAVE CEMENTED THEMSELVES AND THEIR STORY INTO SCANDINAVIAN HISTORY VERY QUICKLY AND AFTER SEEING THE TIMEPIECES THEY ARE CREATING, IT IS BY NO MEANS SURPRISING. Designers Magnus Svensson and Johan Sahlin both with an industrial design background became increasingly interested in watch design after failing to find a timepiece that really stood for what they wanted in a watch, and as a consequence, they established Bravur. A typical Scandinavian style brushed with minimalistic design makes the timepieces very Swedish with functionality at its very core – a style that stands apart from its competitors and holds an allure that is recognisable without even seeing the brand name or logo. Bravur is a brand that cares about people, about what sets us all apart and what cultural reflections exist across the world as we all aspire to create an exciting journey for each other. A watch brand with an acclaimed Swedish design but produced in Switzerland, they have really taken the process of design a long way, with inspections taking place at several points along the production line, you can really see that the attention to detail is not just in each watch that is made, but in the brand they have created too. AWAY FROM THE BRIGHT LIGHTS, THE PHOTO SHOOTS AND THE GLITZY RED CARPET GALA’S, STEVE KAZEE IS A GENUINELY DOWN TO EARTH AND HUMBLE GUY. THE MULTI-FACETED TONY AND GRAMMY AWARDWINNING ACTOR, SINGER AND GUITARIST IS REPRISING HIS ROLE AS ‘GUS’ IN “SHAMELESS” AS WELL AS BEING CAST AS ‘RIFF’ IN ABC’S BELOVED “NASHVILLE”. Fans of “Shameless” will recall Kazee’s character being subjected to some pretty tough rejection at the end of last season. However, we’ll be seeing his character in a new light this time. “Well you’ll definitely see Gus again this season and what will be interesting is you’ll get to see a different side of Gus. Last year you saw a very warm, sensitive, optimistic persona and now you’ll see the more realistic side of what a person put in that position would do and how they would respond. Gus definitely gets to sing a little song in the third episode. It’s a song, which I think is going to have quite a few people talking. It’s nice to go back and give the character a strong voice. The writing was incredible but when you’re a nice guy you don’t often get a chance to stand up for yourself”. Talking of nice guys, Kazee is the newest addition to the show everyone has fallen in love with “Nashville”. With its vengeful heartbreak songs and dramatic storylines, he is set to play ‘Riff’, a country music star, in the highly anticipated second half of season 4. He’s got some competition but he may steal Deacon’s swoon-worthy country King crown. “I play a character named Riff who was on top of the world as a country music superstar but then at the age of 30 decided he was going to pack it in and retire and move with his wife to a farm and just live a quiet life. He gets pulled out of that retirement 15 years later by his buddy, Luke Wheeler [played by Will Chase], and gets brought back into the fold in order to help him out”. Despite joining the cast at a later stage, his bromance with Will Chase made the transition smooth sailing. “We had known each other from New York when we were doing theatre 23
there. So I was lucky that we already had that relationship and we could just jump right in and not have any of the awkwardness that comes from joining a cast when you’re not a regular. It was just like meeting up with a friend. He’s a great guy and a great actor and he made that set very welcoming and made me feel part of the family”. Moreover, it sounds like being part of the Nashville family is just like going to a concert, not a bad set-up at all! “Oh it’s great, especially when there’s a performance. We probably had about 250 extras in the house so it was very much like doing a real concert in a venue and they were very much into it, people were excited to be there and to be a part of the show, there was a great energy. All of my times on set were incredible, they’re such wonderful people who really love what they’re doing and that shows, you can tell. You can feel the energy coming through the screen”. Despite his bevy of accolades, even Kazee gets star struck when meeting his idols. “I went to the Golden Globes after party. Oh my god it was so great, I sat next to Harrison Ford for a little while, which was a dream come true. He was just as wonderful as you would expect him to be. He’s a very charming man, he’s got a very charming personality, he was very warm to anyone that wanted to come up and say hello. I was also able to see some old friends who I haven’t seen in a while and there are quite a few shows on HBO that I like, “Game of Thrones”, “The Leftovers”, so those people were peppered throughout the party. I’m still a fan, I’ll always be a fan, so I get excited to be in those rooms and see my favourite actors from my favourite TV shows. It was a really wonderful night”.
With the entire world anxiously counting down the days until April 24th (the premiere of season 6 of Game of Thrones, obviously!), it seems Kazee is just as excited. “I’ve got to say I’m a Jon Snow guy for sure. I’m not devastated because there’s no way he’s gone. Nobody’s ever really dead on Game of Thrones. It was too abrupt, it didn’t feel right so I just think it’s a big part of the storyline and we’ll get the answer when it comes back on air. I love it. I think it’s great when a television show can get that many people talking about it”. Sitting next to Harrison Ford at the Golden Globes after party was definitely a victory for Kazee. However, in terms of his approach to life and his philosophies, he seems to take counsel from a different, albeit just as legendary, idol. He smiles and says, “What would George Clooney do? That’s one of my favourites. He is one of my favourite actors and one of my favourite human beings. I don’t know if I have a serious life philosophy. I’m a person who’s very interested in science and the universe and quantum physics and astrophysics. When you think about how grand it all is, beyond the borders of this earth that we live on, it’s hard to take any of this too seriously. You just kind of have to exist in the life that you have and continue to push on because none of us are guaranteed, I don’t know what my expiration date is. We’ve lost David Bowie and Alan Rickman in a week, both at the age of 69. I may live to 75, I may live to be 55, I don’t know so I just try as best as I can to be present in the moment and enjoy life”. I have to say, my interview with Kazee has to rank up there as one of my all time favourites. His frank approach and clear enthusiasm as a regular fan was refreshing. A true gent. IT’S A NEW YEAR, AND THAT MEANS MORE PRODUCTS TO EXPLORE AND A CHANCE FOR ME TO SHARE MY BEAUTY FINDS WITH YOU, THE BELLOMAG READERS. PLEASE READ ON FOR MY CURRENT FAVORITES! Kosås is a cosmetic line that believes in the concept that beauty reflects nature. The handcrafted, small batches of lip color are fresh and flattering and full of yummy, natural ingredients like moisturizing Mango Seed Oil and anti-inflammatory Grape Seed Oil. This translates into a richly pigmented but weightless lip color that feels like a balm. It wears well and leaves lips feeling smooth and conditioned. With four colors to choose from, there is something for everyone. I especially love “Fringe”, a semi-matte, buildable red with earthy undertones. For me it’s a throwback to the universally flattering brick color of the 90’s which, of course never goes out of style. It’s effortless and looks great with ripped jeans and a white tee! www.kosascosmetics.com
I am currently obsessed with Oils; oil cleansers, facial oils and body oils. With the weather being so wacky and environmental factors taking their toll, our skin needs more care than ever. This vegan oil is rich with powerful antioxidants that smooth and revive skin. It’s full of all natural botanical ingredients like Rose Hip Seeds, Rosemary Leaf extract, and Coleus Root Extract. It also contains Bakuchiol, which is nature’s alternative to Retinol. It’s great for all skin types! www.Sephora.com

THE DEVIL WITH A FLAIR FOR SEDUCTION. THAT’S RIGHT, THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED “LUCIFER” IS SET TO DEBUT JANUARY 25TH ON FOX WITH A TALENTED CAST INCLUDING TOM ELLIS, LAUREN GERMAN AND KEVIN ALEJANDRO. THE MULTI-FACETED, SOUTH AFRICAN-BORN BEAUTY, LESLEY-ANN BRANDT, HAS BEEN DUBBED AS ‘LUCIFER’S DEMON BFF MAZE’ IN THE UPCOMING FANTASY DRAMA.
Brandt plays the sexy demon ‘Mazikeen’. “She [Mazikeen] is his [Lucifer’s] most trusted and loyal confidante. She is a demon and he is the Devil. They share a deep bond that get’s tested as the series plays out. As Lucifer explores his humanity, so must Mazikeen. She often bares the cross for his decisions and will go to great lengths to protect him from harm, both seen and unseen. She’s a tough warrior, smart, seductive and cunning”. If the trailer is anything to go by then we’re in for an alluring treat. “The show is loosely based on the comic book of the same name. We pick up where the Devil has left hell and opened a bar called Lux in Los Angeles. He lives his life like a modern day playboy, forsaking any and all responsibility he has to hell. The longer he is on earth, the more human he becomes and as a show, we explore the most irredeemable character in history, discovering his humanity. We take a light-hearted look at our own hypocrisy as human beings. Did the Devil make you do it? Or did he merely give you options and you chose poorly?” With such a demanding acting schedule, both physically and emotionally, staying fit is essential to ensure Leslie maintains peak capacity. “Sport was a big part of my upbringing and being healthy and active is a big part of my life 35
now. There’s a certain stamina required when you’re shooting a TV show for six months. The hours are long, you’re on your feet all day and it’s mentally draining living in a character’s skin for this long. Apart from the physical benefits, being flexible and strong helps me prevent injuries, especially when it comes to my stunt-work”. For her, yoga in particular is an escapism from the daily grind. “I’m at Modo Hot Yoga in LA at least 3 times a week. What I love about Modo is that I also get an hour in a heated room where I get centered. Life can be crazy so this alone time and sense of community at the LA studio is really important to me. I credit owner Joe K for creating a space where we can come together and dedicate our practice to whatever or whomever needs our positive energy. I need the balance of physical and spiritual fitness to operate at my best”. With only one week until this seductive demon graces our TV screens, Leslie can’t wait to share the experience with her bevy of dedicated fans. “I just want to say thank you to those loyal fans of all the cast, who for months have been getting so excited about the show. See you January 25th!” “Lucifer” premieres Monday January 25th at 9/8c on Fox. January 2016 - BELLO

INTERVIEW
T-Bird Corner Get to know Grease Live!’s Jordan Fisher, who plays The T-Bird’s very own Doody in the famed musical airing LIVE on January 31st on FOX. INTERVIEW BY DIO ANTHONY PHOTOS BY SAMI DRASIN
Describe your experience on Grease Live? My experience thus far has been nothing short of amazing. In every sense of the word. The cast, the crew, the efficiency, the nostalgia where the script and music are concerned—everything. We have the unique opportunity of essentially re-introducing everyone’s favorite film to multiple generations in our own special format, and in our own special way. It’s very exciting. As a fan of the movie, what’s your favorite song?
BEAUTY issue - BELLOmag.com
I think my favorite song has always been “Grease (Is the word)”. Jessie J KILLS this performance. Easily one of my favorite moments in the show, and it’s at the VERY beginning! Do you have any favorite musicals? Why? OH DO I. Plenty. From “Rent” to “Once On This Island,” to “Wicked” to “In The Heights” to “Songs for a New World.” I’ve been a broadway/theatre geek for a majority of my life. I want to do musicals until I just can’t do them anymore.
Are there particular challenges filming a live musical show you’ve come across? Well, we’re doing something pretty ambitious. Two sound stages, almost an entire backlot, golf carts, quick changes, all in real-time 100% live. Whatever happens the night of January 31st is exactly what’s going to happen. However, the electricity of the live aspect is what’s so enticing. It’s why we keep doing these kinds of shows. And it’s why they’re usually so successful. You just can’t replicate that kind of experience!

Who are your influences in music? Who’d you grow up listening to? I grew up listening to Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, The Doobie Brothers, Earth Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Boyz ll Men, and the list goes on. What was your introduction to music like? It was really just riding in the car on my way to school with my mom every day. We’d listen to artists from Huey Louis to Stevie Nicks to The Eagles to Boston all the way to Faith Hill. My taste is so spread just due to my listening to all of it growing up. I actually fell in love with classical music after playing Kingdom Hearts for the first time. The original score was the first album I ever purchased with my own money. I didn’t understand why I was so drawn to it, I just knew that I loved it. It was alive to me. Captivating. Simple, but so complex. I just kind of became obsessed with it. That then lead me to the piano, then listening to lots of John Legend and Stevie Wonder, trying to figure out how to play their songs. Your role as Noah Patrick on Teen Wolf was so “out there”. Take me back to what that was like to film? It was a blast! One of my dream roles is to play a mutant in an X-Men movie, and this is the closest I’ve ever gotten to that [laughs]. It was physically challenging, but so fulfilling. The cast was and is so, so warm and inviting. It made the whole experience so fun. We’ll see what happens next!

Nailing It WITH PILAR NOIRE @PilarNoire
12 ways to improve your nail game in 2016 A NEW YEAR CAN BRING WITH IT REFLECTION, ASSESSMENT, AND RENEWED INSPIRATION FOR IMPROVEMENT. I’VE LISTED 12 TIPS PAIRED WITH PRODUCTS TO REMIND YOU OR IMPROVE YOUR HAND AND FOOT CARE REGIMEN IN 2016. CHANGE IS GOOD.
1 Pick up a nail file that makes you happy and use it! Go to any cosmetics section, you will see some nail files with cute designs. Cute designs make me happy, lift my mood and make me want to use them more often. I keep it handy so if I have a break in the nail or a hangnail makes an appearance, I can take care of it without causing more damage.
2 Invest in good cuticle nippers. Good nippers are super important for trimming hangnails. Avoid trauma to your fingers caused by picking them. I love Tweezerman. They have a great selection. The Grip & Snip Spiral Cuticle Nipper is super fun.
3 Keep your feet smooth and in shape with Nailing Hollywood’s Foot File. Just having this hanging from your shower caddy will make you want to use it and keep your heels smooth. It’s so pretty and well designed.
4 I love soaking my feet in epsom salts. I use a Conair Foot Spa. I love the bubbles! Soaking the feet for 1020 minutes a day or even once a week will relax and energize tired feet and improve your mood.
5 Nails that have been a bit neglected and are dry as a result may need a little extra love to get them back on track. Give Nail Tek a whirl. Their daily maintenance therapies in a bottle are there to help do just that - get those nails back on track to feeling beautiful.
6 Cuticle oil is so important to keep nails healthy and hydrated. There are many great brands on the market but my absolute favorite is CND Solar Oil. It wins my heart every time because it’s almond base makes it smell like marzipan, and I love marzipan. It’s dessert for your nails.

7 Find a moisturizer that you love for daytime and evening hydration. The slip of Essie’s Mani Mani Mani is fabulous. Essie’s Swept Off My Feet is also wonderful for massaging a little bit into the feet post shower. Put some favorite socks on that are dedicated for this ritual to enjoy a little spa time at home.
8 I love using Hope Gillerman’s Muscle Remedy and not only for strains and injuries. I use this roller bottle to massage my arms. It’s an instant relaxer for me. We do so much with our hands. For me, pampering myself with her whole collection of essential oil remedies keeps me relaxed, refreshed and energized. It definitely keeps my spirit happy.
9 Use an SPF of choice on your hands if outdoors at all. I drive a lot. I found driving gloves by Sundriven. This is the ultimate in protecting hands from sun damage and keeping your hands looking young. Their “Long Touchscreen” driving gloves are lightweight and come in many colors. It makes me feel so glamorous while driving, now who doesn’t like that?
10 Only pick up nail polish colors that make you happy! Different colors resonate with people’s tastes and preferences. Don’t get a color just because it’s trending if you don’t love it. Wear your personality on your nails. I’ve realized I love just about every color of nail polish. However, my nearest and dearest know they can expect to find me wearing all shades of pink and brights in all colors. I can’t remember a time I wasn’t wearing polish. I’ve been hooked since my first bottle as little girl.
11 Own a great, fast-drying top coat. I prefer Seche Vite. Its performance is truly amazing. If there are imperfections in the nail or flaws in the polish you just applied, Seche is there to help. It applies like a glaze with each stroke of the brush and self levels to gloss nails beautifully.
12 Do you want nail art but lack the time to invest in taking up a new hobby? No problem. Nail wraps are DIY and easy to use. There is a small learning curve to each brand but nobody knows your nails like you do so give it a few applications. I love Jamberry nail wraps. It’s all about heat and pressure. They are easy to apply, come in 300 different patterns each season and their mini heater made for application is a must have. You can fashion your fingertips without being an artist or taking a trip to a salon.

GREASE IS SET TO CAPTURE ALL OUR HEARTS ONCE AGAIN. FROM JULIANNE HOUGH TO VANESSA HUDGENS, CARLY RAE JEPSEN AND CARLOS PENAVEGA, GREASE: LIVE IS DUE TO DEBUT ON FOX JANUARY 31ST. BELLO CAUGHT UP WITH CARLOS AHEAD OF THE BIG NIGHT.
Your schedule is obviously very hectic at the minute with Grease: LIVE! It premieres on FOX January 31st, how long have you guys been rehearsing for? Once the whole production wraps we will have rehearsed for over 2 months. How old were you when you first watched Grease? I think I must have been 16 years old. I did a production of the show at the JCC (Jewish Community Center) in south Florida and I watched the movie for inspiration. I played Danny and I remember it being the first musical where I was a lead. There is such an incredible cast with Vanessa Hudgens, Julianne Hough and so many others. Tell me about your experience on this show? It has been so fun working with everyone in the cast. The theatre world is so close. Our little group has become so close. It’s really sad to know that in just a few days (Jan 31st) this whole experience will be over. I know we all plan on staying in touch and some of us will hopefully be working together again! In 3 words describe your reaction when you found out you were going to play ‘Kenickie’. Random! (Good random) Shocked! Blessed! 49
Do you see any similarities between yourself and ‘Kenickie’? Totally! I absolutely LOVE my car and Kenickie is kind of obsessed with his.
dance experience before dancing. I did do some “boyband dancing” when I was touring with BTR (Big Time Rush) but I don’t really consider that anything close to ballroom dancing.
I think my highlight was when I got to share with the world about my faith. It was a very tough moment but so fulfilling. What’s your favourite song from the film?
What was the highlight of your time on that show?
Favorite song from the film is “We Go Together”. I think it’s the same for the show too. The dance number that we do is high energy and a lot of fun! I can’t wait of everyone to see it!
I think my highlight was when I got to share with the world about my faith. It was a very tough moment but so fulfilling. I wanted to share my story about where I was before I found God and how my life changed after. I have been receiving some amazing emails and comments about how that week helped so many people. That to me was worth every sore day of the entire competition.
Grease is such an iconic movie. Is Grease: LIVE very similar to the original or are there some twists? Grease: LIVE is a mixture between the movie and the original stage show. 9.What trends are you excited about for this season?
-Growing up I wanted to be a flight attendant. I remember my first time ever going on a plane for a family vacation and the flight attendants seemed so glamorous; traveling all around the world!
- I’m excited about clean luxurious looking hair for the season. 10.What is your hair pet peeve? -My hair pet peeve would have to be when the hair looks overdone and “hairdo” looking.
2.When did you start doing hair and how did you choose it as a career? -I started doing hair when I was about 18 years old. I was going to a community college at the time. I had a friend who was in cosmetology school at the Vidal Sassoon academy in Santa Monica. I went to visit her and I immediately felt like I belonged there! Everyone was so chic and stylish with these amazing asymmetrical haircuts. That’s the moment I knew I wanted to do hair. 3.What part of your job do you enjoy the most? -The part of my job that I enjoy the most is the fashion. I get so inspired once I see an amazing look that one of my girls is wearing or when I’m on a shoot with amazing clothes! 4.How would you describe your style (as a stylist)? -I would describe my style as sexy. I love beautiful, sexy hair! 5.What has been your biggest “pinch me” moment? 65
11.What inspires you in your work?
-I don’t think I’ve had one particular “pinch me” moment. It’s funny because I constantly have those moments! Lol! I get really excited about work. I love it so much! 6.Who is someone you haven’t worked with yet, but would love to? -I love iconic women. I would probably say Angelica Huston, Goldie Hawn, Lara Stone. They’re the ultimate for me! 7.What are your top 5 go-to products right now? -Oribe Texturizing spray, R&CO Dry shampoo paste, Elenett Satin Hairspray, Reverie Milk, Phytovolume Activ. 8.All time favorites tip or trick: - I always like for the hair to feel and look touchable. Don’t over do it with product.
-I get inspired by so many things! Getting to work with other creative people inspires me. Also, I’m inspired by the constant change of environment. Everyday I’m in a different location or traveling to a different city and that’s really exciting to me. 12.What’s next for you? -More traveling and fashion editorials 13.How do you spend your time outside of work? -I love Music! Love seeing my favorite artist perform live at shows. And I love to cook! 14.What advice would you give someone who wants to be a celebrity hair stylist? - My advice would be, find a great mentor and do anything you can to learn and absorb from them. Be patient, pay your dues and definitely assist as much as you can. January 2016 - BELLO
