There’s something about the first few seconds of a song that are hit-and-miss for me. If I’m not sucked in immediately, chances are I’m going to pass. E
VER SO OFTEN HOLLYWOOD RECEIVES A GIFT IN THE FORM OF A FRESH FACE. SOMETIMES IT’S JUST A FACE, RARELY IS IT PAIRED WITH TALENT. THAT ISN’T THE CASE FOR NOAH GALVIN, STAR OF ABCS NEW REVOLUTIONARY SITCOM THE REAL ONEALS. THE 22-YEAR-OLD NEW YORK NATIVE IS SWITCHING UP THE GAME WITH HIS SHOW ABOUT AN IRISH CATHOLIC FAMILY COMING TO TERMS WITH WHO THEY ARE, ALL IN THE MIDST OF AN ACCIDENTAL COMING OUT BY GALVIN’S ‘KENNY ONEAL’ THAT FORCES THEM TO TAKE DOWN THE HAPPY FAMILY ACT AND PUT OUT THEIR REAL, NON APOLOGETIC SELVES. MEET AMERICA’S SOON TO BE SWEETHEART--NOAH GALVIN. 1. What was your own family and upbringing like in New York? I had an interesting childhood. I was born in Northern Westchester County, about forty five minutes outside of Manhattan, in a town called Katonah. I started working professionally in musical theater at the age of ten and from then on I was back and forth from New York City on the MetroNorth. When my parents separated when I was 14, my mother and I moved to the Upper West Side, where her twin sister lives. As soon as my brother and sister graduated school they too moved to NYC. I have a tribe in New York that spans from 85th and Riverside to 103rd and West End and beyond. My family is very, very close. They are the most interesting, creative, wonderful humans you will ever come across. Yoga, Music, Dance, Theater, and now TV, it’s a nice thing to be surrounded by artists, and even better when those artists are your family. 2. If you don’t mind telling, what was your own self acceptance process like, and subsequent coming out?
#122 issue - BELLOmag.com
My coming out was difficult, as coming out is a difficult thing to do. I struggled with my sexuality from ages ten to thirteen and finally sort of made up my mind at thirteen and a half that I was gay, but it wasn’t something I was ready to share yet. At age fourteen I started dating a girl that I totally fell in love with, which just added another layer of confusion to the process. I finally broke up with her and came out to her and she, being the lovely, effervescent, accepting, sun goddess she is, embraced me and told me we’d be best friends forever, and we still are to this day. After that, the coming out to my family was the easiest of all, they already knew. Who was I kidding. There was a photo in our living room of me, my brother, and my two cousins, and they’re all flexing while I’m giving you blue steel model realness. Simple foreshadowing.
“Six Feet Under” is my all-time favorite show. Just so fucking well done. In every way. Takes a dip in the fourth season but it just really redeems itself in the end. And who can deny the beauty of that finale episode? 4. You seem very close with your TV family. How quickly did the chemistry between you and your cast members pick up? The chemistry between my fake family and I was instantaneous. We all fell in love with each other immediately. We just have a really good time being together, when we’re on set between setups we usually play a boardgame or some CatchPhrase.
3.What sticks out to you when you think back on The O’neals experience this firsts season? The coolest one for me was the episode titled “The Real Grandma” where Frances Conroy plays Grandma Agnes. I’ve been such a fan of hers since I was little.

when we’re on set between setups we usually play a boardgame or some CatchPhrase. Martha and Jay put together at some point later in the process that all of us were child actors. I think we all come to set with a similar level of professionalism. We all know how to show up, be prepared, get everybody out of there as quickly as possible, (When Matt and Jay aren’t slowing the process with their constant breaking), and we know how to leave work at work. I love them with all my heart and I hope we get to be a family for many years to come. PS: I live in Jay Ferguson’s guest house. In his backyard. Just to give you an idea of how close we really are 5. Lots of teens have reached out to me for advice, or simply wanting to share or tell someone their story. I read everything I’m written. I can’t respond to all of it for a multitude of reasons. When I do, it opens the door for them to think I can be a real source of support for them and I can’t. I’m still young, I struggle dealing with my own bullshit. But every once in a while I will respond or reach out. The best I can do is direct them to The Trevor Project, which is an organization for suicide prevention among LGBT youth but they are so much more than. They have a hotline that you can call 24/7 to simply talk to a person about your struggles, and I think often times that’s what these kids are looking for, someone to talk to, to feel like they can be themselves to and open up. So I point them in the direction of the Trevor Project and I say, keep talking, never isolate, and take your time.

After couture, his favorite activity was his weekly return to the earth,” states Marika Gentry in author Marie-France Pochna’s 1994 biography of Christian Dior.
In early May of this year, the House of Dior celebrated the grand opening of Christian Dior’s newly renovated private chateau -- the Château de la Colle Noir -- tucked away in the Provence region of France in the town of Montauroux (approximately 20 miles and a 40-minute drive northwest of Cannes). Dior bought the palace and grounds in 1951 and spent the next six years redecorating the estate to bring his childhood rose-filled dreams to vivid life. When Dior died unexpectedly in 1957, his beloved Château de la Colle Noir would eventually land in the hands of new owners. But a few years ago, the executives at Dior saw an incredible opportunity when the chateau once again appeared on the market after falling into disrepair. Once purchased, a Dior team spent the next three years pouring over original plans, sketches, and countless photographs to renovate the palace back to its original, immaculate glory. The team even went as painstakingly far as to buy back the original furnishings at various auctions.

In their feature profile of the palace, DIOR.com explains why Dior wanted to spend his final years at his Château de la Colle Noir. In an interview before he died, Dior revealed why his new estate meant so much to him: “[At the Colle Noir] I could go right back to my roots and discover, in another climate, the closed garden that protected my childhood ... and finally live peacefully, forgetting Christian Dior and becoming Christian once again.” Catherine Baba, Fai Khadra & Diala Makki
