EDITOR’S

note,

NOVEMBER, 30, 2016

I always love a come back story. It shows how although at times, the subject is still doing what we know of them to do, but maybe not as much out in the lime light like we are used to. This issue, I give you our comeback girl, Brenda Song. From the snooty-but-hard-to-resist character in Disney’s Suite Life, London Tipton, to the college bad-ass/psycho, Christy in this Oscar winning film Social Network, to the now all-grown-up Angie Cheng in CBS’ newest hit, Pure Genius. We’ve always loved the strong girls/women she portrays. We give you her amazing editorial shot in Los Angeles, CA by the dynamo photography duo SOSA + ART. Enjoy!

The Cotswolds, England, one of the most highly sought after areas of pristine countryside and restored ancient buildings. The area that surrounds Ellenborough Park is often the place for weekend relaxation, or country vacations for city dwellers. Ellenborough Park itself, restored only a few years ago, dates back more than 500 years to 1533, and offers guests the chance to experience a stately home in the countryside of England. Lets look a little deeper at the property‌ #138 issue - BELLOmag.com

LOUNGE AREA 6

When sat down, you can picture yourself in an ancient dining hall backdated, it really does have that historic aura, coupled with the five star English waiters, who will ensure that your experience holds nothing but the best memories to take away. For the food, you can expect locally sourced meat and poultry, amongst other things, which is prepared and cooked to the highest standard by the expert chefs. Every piece of cuisine that you eat is prepared to perfection, from the starter bread, right through to the fancy, but delicious, desserts. The head waiter for the evening made the experience extra special, with great, detailed, insights about the produce they offer, including the winery backgrounds, and local farmers that are servicing Ellenborough Park. If you are thinking of an extra special dinner experience for an upcoming occasion, or perhaps just a romantic lunch or dinner for two, you won’t regret spending an evening at Ellenborough Park. Please see below for more information: www.ellenboroughpark.com Instagram: @ellenboroughpk Facebook: EllenboroughPark

The many layers of history at Ellenborough Park are personified by the overlying centuries of oak beams, stone fireplaces and intricate stained glass. The hotel’s name is taken from the Ellenborough era, when in 1833 the 1st Earl of Ellenborough, former Governor General of India, purchased the estate as his home.

The Beaufort Dining Room The 3 AA Rosette restaurant at Ellenborough Park offers a quintessentially British dining experience, set amongst candles, in a 15th century beamed room, with artworks gracing the walls to make it all the more fascinating. 7

BRENDA SONG IS RAPIDLY EMERGING AS ONE OF HOLLYWOOD’S MOST SOUGHT AFTER YOUNG ACTRESSES.

The Californian-born beauty is currently starring on the CBS show ‘Pure Genius’ opposite Dermot Mulroney and Augustus Prew. The show is about a young Silicon Valley tech-titan who enlists a veteran surgeon with a controversial past in starting a hospital with cutting‐edge, new school approach to medicine. The talented star spoke to BELLO about her latest role, her close bond with cast members and who she would love to work with in the future. BELLO MAG: So you’re currently starring on Pure Genius with a very impressive cast. Tell me a little bit about the premise of the show? BRENDA SONG: Pure Genius is about a tech billionaire (James Bell) who opens a hospital called Bunkerhilll— where he has combined the most advanced minds in medicine and the latest in advancement in technology. James and his staff treat the most rare cases, focusing on giving the patients the best care without the worry of all the red tape. We also find out that James has a more personal reason for opening up Bunkerhill. BM: What’s your character, Angie Cheng, like? Would you say you have any similarities, or did you bring some of your own personality to the character? BS: Angie is the tech aspect of Bunkerhill. Her job is to work with the doctors to figure out how to incorporate and aid their cases with the latest tech, whether its preexisting tech or creating something new altogether. I think with every character you play, you have to bring a little bit of yourself to him/her to make it believable. So I definitely think there’s a lot of me in Angie. BM: What are your three favorite things about Angie? 31

BS: I love Angie’s sense of humor, her nosiness and her amazing tech skills (that I definitely don’t have). Haha. BM: I can see on Instagram that you get along really well with all your cast mates. What’s the atmosphere like when you guys aren’t filming? Do you hang out away from set? BS: We have so so much fun on set. Even though we are a drama, there is a lot of laughter and silliness on set. I just enjoy being around this amazing group of humans. We actually hang out quite a bit outside of set. Every week we have a pizza night at someone’s house while we live tweet. Even after a 12-hour day at work, we’ve met up after for karaoke or just eat and chat for hours and hours. Haha we kind of like each other, can you tell? BM: Talking about the medical aspect of the show – is this something you ever thought about doing? BS: I’m super squeamish haha I can’t even watch the “surgeries” we do on our show haha. The only thing I could probably be is a psychiatrist. I love psychology and human behavior.

BS: There are so many actors and actresses I would love to work with, but it would be amazing to work with David Fincher again. I know he’s not an actor but I just respect and admire him and his work sooo much. I would love to have the opportunity to work with him again.

BELLO BUZZ ROUND Bagels or muffins? Bagels Calling or texting? Texting Coffee or tea? Coffee Horror movie or chick flick? Horror Movie Thanksgiving or Christmas? Thanksgiving Nachos or French fries?

BM: You’ve had some great recurring roles on some popular TV shows, New Girl and Scandal to name a few, which one would you say stood out for you the most?

French fries

BS: I have been so incredibly fortunate to have recurred on such amazing shows and I’m so grateful to have had those opportunities. I think its unfair to say that one stood out more than the other.

Spicy

BM: If you could chose to work with any actress or actor in the future, who would it be and why?

Instagram or Twitter?

Peanut butter or jelly? Peanut Butter Spicy or mild?

Think before you talk or talk before you think? Talk before I think but I wish it was the other way around for me haha

‘SEARCH’ FOR A PARTY

On November 16, New York City’s Metrograph theater transformed itself from a 1920s Lower East Side cinema into a binge-watcher’s paradise for the premiere of TBS’s Search Party, a twisted new series that mixes the surreal murder mystery of Twin Peaks and the narcissistic millennial comedy of Girls.

DJ Khaled celebrates. A signboard listed the Nancy Dreweque episode titles like “The Captive Dinner Guest” and “The Secret of the Sinister Ceremony,” while the concession stand supplied popcorn, beer, and plenty of candy over the course of the evening. As the night wore on, the audience bonded over the show’s twists and turns, spontaneously breaking out into applause and taking advantage of the breaks every few episodes to ask questions of executive producer Michael Showalter and stars John Early and Meredith Hagner. NYC art provocateurs The Bumby’s added a mysterious element to the proceedings before Purity Ring, the indie Canadian duo behind Search Party’s haunting theme song, closed out the night with with a DJ set that showcased their stark yet delicate pop sound.
