EMMA KENNEY PHOTOGRAPHY ARTHUR GALVAO
I'm beginning to wonder if Emma Kenney even has time to sleep. When she's not filming her role as Darlene and David's daughter on the highly anticipated Roseanne reboot, she's filming scenes for the next season of Shameless. And when she's not busy doing either of those, she's on a plane to fly to another shooting location. BELLO was lucky enough to catch up with Emma as she had just arrived in Chicago to film exteriors for Shameless. We talked about her busy life, what motivated her to get into show business, and what she considers her two biggest guilty pleasures at the moment.

OCTOBER 2017 Maison Privée x BELLO Media Group party was a blast! Thank you to all who were in attendance. In this issue, you can catch up on highlights from the event. Memorable moments included a special preview of the PARAVAL Capsule Collection. In attendance in addition to our many friends, there were many of Young Hollywood’s celebrities alongside Cody Christian such as James Maslow (Recording Artist/ Actor), Peter Facinelli (CW’s “Supergirl”), Niki Koss (Freeform’s “Famous in Love”), Mercedes Mason (AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead”), Chandler Kinney (FOX's “Lethal Weapon”), and Sterling Beaumon (NBC’s “Law and Order: Menendez Brothers”) to name a few. We’re excited to know that one of our favorite shows is coming back to the small screen, and it was not hard to pick a talent from the show to grace our next cover. Emma Kenney (Showtime’s “Shameless”), is a very unique, fashion forward and talented actress, so we had a blast working with her on this cover story. Don’t miss out on our extended IT Guy feature with Jimmy Tatro and IT Girl Feature with Nikki Koss. In this issue, we had so much fun shooting Bryan (Our Model of the Month) and sharing with you some more fashion stories. October is almost over and I can not believe that holidays are fast approaching! Make sure to follow @BELLOmag and www.bellomag.com for even more entertainment images and interviews, but also exclusive holiday gifting ideas!

Kaolin Clay, Leafy Green Phytonutrients, Bitter Orange Peel among other yummy ingredients will help to reset your complexion from the outside - in. www.glossier.com When a product line is celebrating 50 years you know that they’re doing something right. Dr Hauschka has always promoted healthy, beautiful skin using natural products. That philosophy was revolutionary in 1967, and it’s perfectly on target today. The luxurious Rose Day Cream for normal, dry and sensitive skin will hydrate, calm and soothe away redness and irritation. It's a perfect addition to our beauty routines as we head into the fall and winter months.
I love a multipurpose product. And I really love a monochromatic makeup look. Enter Bite Beauty’s The Multistick for the win! It’s weightless color for eyes, lips and cheeks. Coming from the modeling world, Jessica Gomes would know about beauty. She would know about skincare, and what artists around the world use in their kits. Also an Australian native, Jessica would know how to protect her skin from the sun and use SPF religiously. It’s no wonder she wants to put that into her skincare line. Created with the simple idea that her products could be useful to the everyday woman who doesn’t want to skimp on their beauty routine for a busy schedule and full work life. The standout products to this makeup artist was definitely the Moisture Veil and Super Serum. Both combine a mixture of wonderful antioxidants and practicality that other lines don’t consider. The Veil comes with ear attachments that allow you to sip your morning coffee while the masks does it jobs undisturbed. While the line is small, the products are are amazing and a great use to any woman looking for a regular beauty routine. Hopefully we’ll see more from Equal Beauty in the future. www.equalbeauty.com

THERE’S ONLY ONE 1 ATELIER by Steven Carver
The primary definition of luxury is living in a state of great comfort and/or extravagance. It could also be used to describe a form of exclusivity. Although the term is typically associated with money, it’s also related to rarity. To paraphrase The Rolling Stones, you can’t always get what you want (and if you can’t get what you want, you get it made for you). In the world of high fashion, the affluent can afford one-of-a-kind haute couture gowns and made-to-measure suits – money is no object. But, custom isn’t necessarily equated to costly. The world of e-commerce has democratized shopping, offered more options, and lowered prices by removing the middle man.
When it comes to luxury accessories, 1 Atelier delivers exquisitely handcrafted custom products, manufactured in New York City, delivered in less than 21 days. CEO Stephanie Sarka, creative director and designer Frank Zambrelli, and craftsman Anthony Luciano capitalized their experience while working in several industries – from fashion to finance – to launch the e-commerce site of high-end accessories. A form of bespoke tailoring, prospective shoppers start by selecting one of 10 silhouettes that Zambrelli designed based on classic handbag shapes. The styles – a universal tote, tote, hobo, mini saddle, satchel, carry all, backpack, clutch, top zip clutch, and wristlet – can be easily customizable with a few clicks of the keyboard. With the first step complete, the primary materials (which include leather, crocodile and python – in a range of colors), hardware (crafted in hand-molded brass, finished in gold or rhodium), trim/piping and internal linings are selected. Then, the anticipation begins. And while other brands offer personalization options, like embroidered initials or a name tag, very few allow for customer input. At 1 Atelier, clients are in constant communication with the artisans; emails are regularly sent, with photos of the item’s production status. Care and craftsmanship are evident in every step of the process. With billions of combinations available, there’s little chance no one in the world will design the same item. Herein lies the paradox of 1 Atelier: it’s readily accessible for anyone with Wi-Fi, yet not, due to its rarity. This kind of exclusivity does come at a price, albeit one that is thousands less than competitors. But isn’t that a true, priceless luxury?

For some people, turning 18 is an anticlimactic let down. Not for Emma Kenney. When she celebrated hers in mid-September it was a double whammy -- she had just found out she got the role of Roseanne's granddaughter on the legendary series' reboot. "I found out I booked my part on Roseanne on September 15, which is the day after my 18th birthday, so it was such a great birthday gift," she tells BELLO. "It's going to be a really good year I think." It seems Emma's had a lifetime of good years, but when you realize that she's been working almost her entire life, you begin to understand that any blessings she's been given by the Universe are from two things: her unwavering work ethic, and her fiery motivation to make it big. And make it big she most certainly has. Her role of Debbie Gallagher on Shameless means she gets recognized nearly everywhere she goes (case in point were the legion of fans staring at her through her Chicago hotel lobby window as we chatted with her). But as thrilling as fan adoration would be for any actor, Emma remains focused on the most important goal of all: creating rich, vibrant characters that can connect with her audiences. "I don't want to play the same role because I don't want to get typecast or bored. So I'm bringing such a different vibe to my character on Roseanne, compared to my character on Shameless," she says. "I'm bringing more of an artsy vibe, so she's more into fashion and teenage things but in a different way. But Debbie on Shameless is a lot more focused on work and getting a job, and making sure her family is caring about Franny. She's a lot more independent than my new character." In comparing and contrasting the two families, she adds, "There's a lot of small differences between the Conners and the Gallaghers, but both families have the same loyal vibe. They're always all connected and there for each other." Getting to work on Roseanne, and with one of the most iconic casts in television history, is an opportunity not lost on Emma. "It's been such a cool experience so far. Everyone's been so kind and welcoming, and it's been so neat for me to be able to watch everybody -- they're all such class acts and talented actors. I remember at the first table read I was seated right next to Laurie Metcalf and that was really crazy for me because I'm such a fan of hers."
In working with the Roseanne cast, she realized that stage fright is something that even the greats experience. "I have some stage fright, especially with multi-cam, and I was talking to the cast beforehand and telling them how nervous I was, and pretty much all of them were like, 'It's good that you're nervous, it shows that you care. And quite frankly, we're all nervous.' They also said how surreal it felt for them because it's been almost thirty years since the last time they were all working together. I hope Shameless ends up the same -- I hope in thirty years we all get to do a show together, too." Acting has been in her blood since she was just a little girl. "When I was young I was so into movies, especially Alfred Hitchcock. But my favorite film was Mary Poppins, and the little girl who played Jane was kind of my inspiration. So I started improv classes in New York, which is where I'm from, and I just kind of fell in love with it. I was even doing student films on the weekends. I'd also love to go to Tisch some day when all these shows are wrapped up. But one of my biggest passions is directing." Another one of her other biggest passions is fighting for animal rights. "PETA is one of my favorite animal organizations that I work with. I know the people there and I really like them," she tells us. "I'm such a huge advocate for animal adoption -- I would never buy one. You can find the most beautiful pets in shelters. I also work with Mercy For Animals, which takes in animals like cows that have been injured, and they save them and give them a really beautiful and luxurious life. And I'm also really passionate about Best Friends, which is all about 'Adopt Don't Shop'." And when she's not busy working or rescuing innocent animals, she's immersing herself in two of her most favorite guilty pleasures. "I'm literally obsessed with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It's so entertaining! That and pizza. The two of them together is my everything [laughing]." Shameless returns November 5th, and Roseanne returns in 2018.
Working with John Goodman has also been akin to a masterclass in acting. "John has such stage presence and such a voice. He works with the audience in a brilliant way as well. And he's also very into improv. He'll go off on his bit which is so great, and he brings 'newness' to every single take."

Fans of Famous in Love were thrilled when it was announced the series was picked up for a second season. One of the biggest reasons is we get to see a whole lot more of Niki Koss and her character Alexis. BELLO had the chance to catch up with Niki during her recent IT GIRL photoshoot, where we asked her about her love of Old Hollywood and what she's got planned in the months ahead. Congrats on the season two renewal of Famous In Love! When do you start shooting, and when can fans expect the premiere? Thank you, I'm so excited! We start shooting Nov. 1st and honestly I have no idea yet when we can expect to see the premiere. Your guess is as good as mine! What are some of the character traits of your character Alexis Glenn that you admire the most? I admire Alexis' determination and bravery. She takes risks and isn't afraid to be bold. I also admire her ability to re-read the same script thirty times and not complain once. So Halloween is right around the corner. Any big Halloween plans? What was your favorite Halloween memory of all time? Yes! I LOVE Halloween, it's one of my favorite holidays. I throw a Halloween party every year and my best friend and I have been planning and preparing for it non stop. My Pinterest is currently flooded with Halloween decoration ideas... so is my apartment. Read Nikis's full interview on www.BELLOmag.com

Ed: How did you first get involved with such a talked about show like Netflix’s “American Vandal”? Jimmy: I just auditioned. I was on the set of a movie in Vancouver and I auditioned for “Untitled High School Project,” didn’t have anyone to read with, so I did it by myself. I got a callback, went into “Funny or Die” for a callback, and booked it. Were you nervous going into it? I was a little nervous but I was also didn’t have a full understanding of what the project was. They were being so secretive about it, they weren’t sending out scripts, all I saw were my sides. So, I actually didn’t know what my role really was, or how big the role was, until they offered it to me. That was when they explained the concept to me. That was a cool phone call. What was your reaction knowing that the show would be on Netflix? Well I knew it was Netflix—that was the one thing I knew the whole time. If I hadn’t known that, maybe I wouldn’t have been so adamant about making it happen. Otherwise, I had really no information. I just remember I was on a plane and I got a call from the producers and the director. That was when they explained the whole concept and they explained to me what my role was and everything. I was just sitting there on the plane cracking up next to a bunch of random people who had no idea what was going on. How was the transition from the YouTube platform to a more traditional sense of acting? It helped in a sense that YouTube gave me exposure, but it also hurt because it gave me this “YouTube association” that I had to prove to people that I could do more than that. A lot of people just associate YouTube with vlogs, makeup tutorials, and challenges. They don’t trust that the YouTuber can act, because a lot of it is just personality-based. So, certain parts of it were against me. I know that was something that they had to take into consideration when casting me—can this YouTube guy actually act in a series? ALVARO BOROBIO Waiting is the virtue for this fine Spanish artist | Written by Jon Norris
Alvaro, an extremely talented Spanish artist, native of Madrid, Spain, has been producing world-renowned exceptional pieces of art now for many years. Born in 1984, he went about pursuing his passions at the Universidad CEU San Pablo de Madrid. Thereafter, Borobio secured, through his fine skill and creativity in producing world-class pieces, a scholarship, selected to study in 2010 at the Slade School of Fine Art in London for which he learnt and refined what he does best – combining that of science and art to produce a human response at the very limits of what these two fascinating subjects can yield. BELLO took time out to speak to Alvaro at his studio in Madrid to dig a little deeper into his life, his world and what makes him tick as an artist.
UNO. How would you describe yourself as an artist, Alvaro? I think, really, I consider myself a mixture if I’m honest. A mixture between that of an artist and a scientist. I have always been fascinated and enjoyed architecture, science, chemistry and physics and these great phenomena’s are a big part of the background to my work – the passion and the soul. DOS. What do you want people to feel when interacting with your pieces of art? I want people to feel emotion, that they are human and perceptive to the world around them. I want to go beyond the limits of what has been established between art and science and I very much hope people see and feel this when interacting with my work. Ultimately I want people to feel another dimension, to understand the representations of other realities. TRES. Is there anyone or anything that has been of particular influence on your work, to date? The Danish-Icelandic artist, Olafur Eliasson is an inspiration for me and my ideas. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed seeing how he develops his creativity studies and his work and how he works, is a keen favourite of mine CUATRO. Is there anywhere else you draw inspiration from? Yes, my inspiration is around always, just waiting. That’s it. Don’t ever hurry anything. Time is powerful. CINCO. What about a single piece of your work, do you have a favourite? Eolo 1, the canvas paint from the wind SEIS. Do you have any ambitions, dreams for the future, going forward? Actually, my dream as an artist is to have my own project, my own school of Art. I really enjoy and love to learn new things and show them to my students at the university I teach at SIETE. What about yourself, and your hobbies, pastimes and passions outside of art? Well, I’m an avid Sailor, of course I enjoy reading and studying biology and medicine too, as well as skiing, which I love to do in the winter wilderness, the escape into the mountains @alvaro_borobio www.alvaroborobio.com

BELLO Throwing a party is never easy. Even the most skilled and experienced party planner and socialite knows that at any given moment anything can go wrong. But as long as every drink is mixed well, every perfect selfie and group photo is documented for history, every hors d'oeuvre and cupcake is savored perfectly and of course, every guest is treated to a giftbag; then guests will appreciate all the hard work they have come together for. This past September, surrounded by celebrity guests, fashion insiders and close friends, Bello Mag held their celebrated Bello X Maison Privee PR launch event celebrating the newly formed relationship between Bello Media Group and Maison Privee, a fashion showroom headquartered out of Los Angeles, CA. Of course, nothing would’ve be done without the help of some people and brands and below, is Bello’s list of party planning influencers: Photography Thierry Brouard www.premiumparis.com
Dress to Impress: Attending a fashion event, it’s a no brainer that one must dress to impress, especially if Aleksander Tomovic, the editor-in-chief of Bello Magazine is around. At the event, guests were treated to a capsule display by the Fashion Label Paraval who also dressed attendees James Maslow and cover model Cody Christian. Ice Link treated guests with some jewelry gifts.

CEO Joseph Isaacs of Buzz Pop Cocktails was able to sit down with Bello Mag for more on the brand: What was the inspiration for Buzz Pops Cocktails? “Buzz Pop Cocktails is a chef inspired product developed by my 28-year-old son who has been a chef in Las Vegas for the past 10 years. Jason and our Pastry Chef Eric created the flavors and processes to be able to freeze any liquored cocktail (minus carbonated beverages) at up to 40% ABV. The process is so unique that we have patented the procedure.” What makes Buzz Pops Cocktails different from other alcoholic deserts? “Buzz Pop Cocktails turns signature cocktails into 5-star restaurant quality Italian sorbets instead of attempting to infuse under 5% alcohol in a desert product. We have solved the problems of freezing the high volumes of liquor while offering a fat free all natural (nothing artificial – flavors, colorings, additives, preservatives or high fructose corn syrups) fresh seasonal fruit Italian sorbet that is Fat Free, Gluten Free, Kosher, Vegan and under 100 calories. addition, our regular Buzz Pops contain 15% premium top shelf liquors.” How long does it take to create a new flavor? Are there new flavors coming out? “We currently have developed approximately 75 different flavors over the past 6 months. Our flavors are seasonal depending upon the availability of the fresh fruits or cold pressed juices that we use. Typically, we offer 8-10 flavors at a time. We just temporarily dropped the Watermelon Patch due to unavailability of watermelon. Being chef driven and in-house we can turn on a dime. We own the manufacturing facility so we don’t have to rely on a co-packer or outside mixologist to create things for us. As an example, when Tony Abu-Gamin (world famous mixologist) and the Las Vegas Golden Knights came to us and asked if we could turn their signature cocktail – Behold the Gold – into a Buzz Pop it took us 48 hours to finish the testing and whip up the first batch of samples. That signature cocktail is made with Patron Reposado and came out at 34% ABV without any degradation to the texture, consistency, freezing ability and/or flavors.” Buzz Pops Cocktails are available to purchase online via your website, is there any other retailers that carry BPC? “Currently Buzz Pops is developing a major online presence to ship direct to consumer throughout the continental USA. That program should be fully functional by end of October. We are also in negotiations to sell through Goldbelly, as well. Buzz Pop Cock-

tails are sold by Two Harbors on Catalina Island, Via adult ice-cream trucks in South Carolina and at venues in New York, Washington DC and Miami. It was never our intention to distribute the product in retail stores. We prefer venues, pool bars, cruise lines, event planners, private parties, sporting arenas, etc. In addition, we have the ability to private label and co-brand Buzz Pops for specific locations and/or clients.” Are you looking to have any celebrity or social media influencer as brand ambassadors? Any collaborations with social media influencers to create specialty flavors? “Eventually we will collaborate with certain celebrities and media influencers. We currently are open to those types of conversations. We currently have a few brand ambassadors that speak about our products on a regular basis through social media and that form of media Buzz expands monthly. We are very open to create specialty flavors in exchange for media influence. In addition, Buzz Pops has created a social media contest for the next 90 days (rolls out in about a week) whereby the most tweets, follows, retweets, likes and followers get an opportunity to enter to win an all-expense paid trip for 2 to the Super Bowl next year (includes 2 tickets, hotel and airfare). We are excited to be working with sports figures and musicians on this contest and will welcome other influencers to jump on the bandwagon.”
