Palm Springs

A relaxing Oasis just two hours away from Los Angeles, Palm Springs has been my favorite place for a weekend or even a week long escape under the Desert sun. There are some iconic hotels that will immerse you into the resort lifestyle such as The Parker but my ideal setting is a mid century house with a private pool overlooking the majestic mountain and the endless sea of palm trees (that will glitter like diamonds during the golden hour). Get yourself some fresh fruits, sorbet, a good book and your favorite summer drink (mine is a splash of Grenadine On iced Water) and

you'll be set for a hot summer day. Shade, you do need shade! Ideally natural shade from mature trees that will keep you cool. The only real exercise will be going in and out of the pool for the rest of the day. This is the perfect combo for a dreamy vacation. All I usually do is leave the house to eat. Shaded breakfast at Norma's patio at The Parker (1), Lunch at LULU's CafĂŠ, Lobster Rolls is my to go (2). On your drive back home make sure to cruise around Vista La Palmas neighborhood to enjoy some fine Mid Century architecture (3). However, if that is where you rental is then

that would make you the luckiest individual in town. Once the sun dives behind the mountain, it's already time to get ready for dinner under the stars at Birba's (4). The food is just incredible and not overpriced; my suggestion: try their roasted Cauliflower, Melon, Prosciutto, and White Pizza ... I mean everything we had there was delicious. After dark and before going back for a night dive in your pool, take a quick detour to The Parker and order the Smore's that you will enjoy making around their fire pit.
