2019 is coming to an end and we have decided to create a special CELEBRATION issue to thank you all for your ongoing support and to thank everyone that has collaborated on the magazine in the past 12 months. This was an amazing year, a roller coaster of emotions, full of exhilarating heights and unfortunately, very necessary lows.
Letter from the Editor
To end the year with a high, we have picked many talented and amazing talent: Ally Brooke, Liv Hewson, Brandon Larracuente and Ylona Garcia. They remind us about creativity, the importance of being inclusive, and more than anything, to keep learning and evolving as that is the only way to grow (as individuals). This year got us to rethink what we know and redefine our vocabulary: Epicene - having characteristics of both sexes or no characteristics of either sex; of indeterminate sex. Gender nonconforming - refers to people who do not follow other people's ideas or stereotypes about how they should look or act based on the female or male sex they were assigned at birth. People have always been gender non-conforming—that is, they have exhibited gender traits that subvert or redo what’s considered conventional and socially acceptable. The term was first used in 1991 but is now gaining mainstream understanding and use, Stinger - the name for short scene that appears during or after the closing credits of a movie. Autogenic training - a self-relaxation technique that involves repeating calming statements to yourself. Bechdel test - refers to a set of criteria used to evaluate a movie or other work of fiction on the basis of its inclusion and representation of female characters. Gig Economy - The gig economy means that work comes from freelance, part-time, or contract jobs or gigs. Deep state - an alleged secret governmental network operating extralegally. It may feel as though the term has been around since the time when men wore fedoras in Washington, but current evidence dates it only to the dawn of the current century. Escape room - a game in which participants confined to a room or other enclosed setting are given a set amount of time to find a way to escape. We have rediscovered the word: Impeachment - the action of calling into question the integrity or validity of something. A charge of misconduct made against the holder of a public office. And finally: Fabulosity: fabulous quality, state, or nature. We wish you a fabulous and of 2019 and even more amazing 2020! Ciao Alek
Editor in chief.

ALLY BROOKE: LOW KEY KILLIN' IT It’s March of 2018. Stepping onto the bus called life, it’s time for a young artist who has already made a name for herself to embark on her solo career. Ally Brooke, and her girl group Fifth Harmony have decided to go their separate ways after six years, and thus beginning the solo voyage. Speaking to Bello Mag, Brooke let us follow her along this year-long journey, starting at the very beginning. Transitioning from a group to a solo act was the most exciting thing that’s happened to her. Sharing the stage with four other talented friends didn’t always allow her to be the true performer that we get to see now. Brooke has a knack for mixing different styles of music and an incredible voice range that’s out of this world, but it was often lost in the other voices of the group. “I really felt that I was never able to show my true potential. So breaking free was liberating,” Brooke explained. Now, fans get to see another side of her: the performer who just wants to put on a high-energy show and belt out music in her full range. After some regrouping and surrounding herself with the perfect team, she headed straight for the recording studio. This, was finally her chance to show fans a side of her that they've never seen before. Recording her first song brings us to the next stop of this voyage. Which song should she release? A debut single is like a first impression, so finding the perfect song took Brooke a bit of time. She felt the pressure of her former bandmates all releasing their own songs. She was in the studio for months, recording two songs a day. People would come up and ask, “When’s your song coming out?” She knew that waiting was the right thing to do. “I had to learn to be patient to wait for that right song, because the first impression is everything,” she shared with us. It was hard when she would get really excited
about a song but it wasn’t right for “Ally Brooke’s” first single. Finally. Ally recorded “Low Key” ft. Tyga and the song exploded into the music-verse. The journey continues with developing Brooke’s signature sound. Having always been drawn to performerseveryone from Adele and Jennifer Lopez to Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars-- she loves to spin little pieces of her favorite artists’ work into her own songs. She wants to put on a show like Justin, and hit the high notes like Adele. Her goal now is to show the versatility of her voice and channel something new in every song. Sometimes, Brooke will be sexy and breathe in tone and other times she’ll be belting; it’s fun to play around with different sounds. But the key, she says, is making sure her personality shines through in each record. “I love making sure people know my voice and my range. Whenever I can hit those high notes, I hit those high notes. I know my fans will go crazy over them, which is really awesome because they appreciate my voice and that feels incredible.” Now that she’s captured her signature sound, we’re on to the next stop: fashion.
One of the best parts of touring are the costumes! Brooke lives for fashion. On this tour, she has shown us many sides of her personal style. If she’s in a girl-boss mood, she’ll wear a power suit, and if she’s performing, she’ll rock some high-waisted shorts and a bodysuit. There’s no limit to the prints and textures this true fashionista will mix to perfectly shine on stage (and show off her legs). Some of her most memorable outfits have been the glamorous, custom-made pieces from her time on “Dancing With The Stars.” Brooke recalls the ferocity she felt on the dance floor in a beautiful bodysuitmeets-Spanish vibe when she danced to her own song, “Higher.” Whether it’s on the dance floor, in her music videos, or walking the streets of LA, she uses these fashion moments to reveal just how creative and fierce she can be. The best surprise of the Ally Brooke Solo Tour is a little dance break. Having wrapped up her season competing on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ this Fall, this competitive gal is no stranger to the competition shows. She actually got her start on X-Factor and filmed at the very same studio. But, these two shows could not have been any more different

for Brooke. On X-Factor, she fought for a career, but on ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ she fought for another week of fun. As a big fan of the show, she couldn’t have been more excited for the opportunity to grow in so many different ways: as a person and as a dancer. Her experience on the show was a pivotal moment to show the world what she was capable of more than just singing. She remembers being made fun of for not being able to dance in Fifth Harmony and as a finalist on her season, it is safe to say Brooke proved to everyone that she is a dancer now. “I think I changed everyone’s minds about me as a performer in the best way possible,” she shared as she raved about her experience on the show. Not only did she become a graceful ballroom dancer but the friendships, memories, and confidence that she gained will be some she can cherish forever. Brooke’s newfound confidence has translated into the new record she’ll be

performing in the next chapter of the tour. “No Good” is an empowering, infectious single about not settling for anything less than you deserve. Sometimes you need to hear it for yourself, “Hey this is no good for me. Bye,” she explained. “So many people can relate to that and identify with being in a situation where someone or something just isn’t adding value to your life. You owe it to yourself to know that you deserve better.” She can’t wait to perform this anthem for you all, and hopefully bring some of her new dance moves to the music video that accompanies the track.
of my life and career,” she shared. This is the first time Brooke will take the stage by herself, performing her own music, for her own audience. She’s going to take everything she learned from DWTS to put on a fun, dynamic, and exhilarating show that will get fans off their feet and dancing along with her. Brooke is going to blow you away on her debut headlining tour. With her versatile voice, captivating songs, dropdead gorgeous costumes, and of course, some kick-ass dancing, Ally Brooke is about to shine brighter than ever in 2020.
We’ve gone a long way on the Ally Brooke Solo Voyage But don’t worry, it is only the beginning. This whole year has been leading up to Ally’s Time To Shine Tour which will be her first solo tour ever. “Dancing With The Stars really showed me shining in a way I never have before, and I want to take that into the next phase

GET THE LOOK Makeup by MEG MEGERDICHIAN @beautydefiner Ally said she tends to have dry skin therefore I used the embryolisse primer to moisturizer her skin . Hudabeauty foundation is a full coverage foundation with a matte finish, therefor its perfect for the red carpet and long day shoots. Studio fix powder was used to have more coverage and control the oil for the day. The mac highlighter is small grained texture highlight, perfect to show a natural glow without being it too much. Morphe Lipliners are the best creamy textured linner that last long and are also affordable. Mac lip gloss is long lasting and perfect to capture on the camera.

Foxhill Manor If you have a picture perfect England travel fantasy, I can assure you that it involves the Cotswolds. This fairy tale like region is sprinkled with medieval villages and picturesque gardens. You are sure to be charmed even if your idea of a good time is to simply enjoy a pint by the fireplace. Foxhill Manor is a splendid 1909 Arts & Crafts mansion about a 2 hour drive from London. Enjoys glorious seclusion in the 400-acre Farncombe Estate above the village of Broadway. As you drive – several miles – through the grounds it feels like you're entering a parallel universe of greenery, tranquillity and fantastic views.

The Foxhill Manor Concept "Our motto at Foxhill is: ‘whatever you fancy, wherever you fancy it’. It really is like staying with very tasteful, very accommodating friends – who have no rules! Your personal host will be on hand 24 hours a day to make sure you have everything you need, every minute of your stay. You are free to roam the Manor as you please, in fact, we encourage you to pop into the kitchen, speak to our head chef, and create your own bespoke menu. And the of course, you can eat it anywhere you want. Burger in the bath anyone? Foxhill manor welcomes children over the age of 12 and is also super dog-friendly. You can also hire Foxhill for exclusive use and takeover the entire venue (we like to call them house parties!) When you stay at Foxhill, you also have access to Dormy House’s spa and facilities, and of course, you are free to wander the estate as you please."
With just 5 rooms and 3 Suites, Foxhill Manor is definitely my kind of boutique hotel. Not only the charm itself will take care of your stay but you can be sure to be pampered and maybe even feel at home more than at your own. This is your chance to play the lord of the Manor. I have to say that the twin-clawfoot-tubs-by-the-window in the Oak Suite ($850 per night) is a nice feature to enjoy the sunset with a glass of Champagne and your loved one. All the bedrooms are absolutely charming. Some have a more modern touch but our favorite is the Willow room ($580 per night) with its country cottage coziness. But can you go wrong in picking a room or Suite at the Hillfox Maner? I doubt it. You can fly non stop from Los Angeles to London with Norwegian, British Airways, Virgin United or American Airlines. Fares for a round trips in January: $500 in Coach, $1500 Premium, $5000 for Business and $7500 in First Class. If you feel comfortable enough driving on the other side of the road you can make the most of it by renting a car during your stay and explore the region. For a full week in January SIXT offers a Mini for $159 or a Range Rover Sports (or similar) for $695 tax included. Bon Voyage!

BRANDON LARRACUENTE SPOTLIGHT
TELLING THE STORIES THAT TRULY MATTER If you watched 13 Reasons Why, you probably had a crush on the cute baseball player Jeff Atkins. The guy behind Jeff is Brandon Larracuente, and he lives up to all of the nice guy standards that his character had set. He shares with us how important it was to tell the story of 13 Reasons Why, which has caused loads of controversy since it first premiered. Brandon will continue making an impact with his next role in “Party of Five.” See what it takes to land a role, and look good while doing it, with Brandon Larracuente.
How did you break into the industry? What was your first big role? I broke into the industry playing Ben Rayburn on Bloodline and was cast off of a self tape out of Florida. However, the role that put me on the map would have to be Jeff Atkins in 13 Reasons Why . You played Jeff Atkins, the lovable baseball player, in “13 Reasons Why.” Describe what it was like to be a part of such an impactful show? It was an incredible experience to be a small part of such a meaningful show so early in my career. I felt honored that I was chosen to help tell such an important story. What would you say to people who think that the show is controversial? I would say that sometimes being uncomfortable or feeling pain watching something teaches us lessons that can help ourselves or others in life. Everyone poured so much love and good intention into that show. However, don’t watch anything you think you can’t handle or that might trigger you.
Jeff was one of the most memorable characters on the show for actually being kind. How do you feel about his tragic death? Why do you think the creators chose this direction? I think that making the likable character tragically die at the hands of a bad decision is more impactful than someone who’s disliked dying on screen. This showed the rippling effects of one persons decisions on an innocent persons life. It creates reflection and conversation. What is the most important lesson you have learned as an actor, so far? Be in the moment, be prepared and take mental health breaks. You’ve been casted in the Freeform reboot of “Party of Five.” Tell us about who your character is on this show. My character is Emilio Acosta, the oldest of the 5 siblings. When his parents are deported to Mexico he has no choice but to step up and parent his brothers and sisters regardless of what he had planned for his own life. The show will tackle the important issue of immigration.
In what way, do you believe it was important to portray these events?
What is it like being part of a project which tackles on such an important issue?
I think it’s important to show the truth and severity of situations in life so that we can learn and think twice about our actions.
This has felt like my greatest responsibility to a project thus far. There are so many broken families who deserve their story to be told honestly. I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I am grateful to be a part of this project.

Outside of acting, what are you most passionate about? Spending quality time with my loved ones and traveling. Spending so many hours on set means I have a job to get home and spend time with my pup, my partner and call my family. As well as in my free time vacationing, seeing the world and becoming more cultured. I’ve also recently picked up photography as a new passion and have a photography page I love updating. What is the best advice you can give to someone aspiring to be an actor? Put in the time, do the work, stay in line and don’t give up. You have to stand out amongst thousands upon thousands. In order to do that you have to show you’ve invested in yourself and the craft. Then when you finally have an agent/ manager who’s pitching you, you have to be prepared to audition for years and years, if you give up and step out of line, someone will take your place.

LIV HEWSON YOUNG HOLLYWOOD
LIV HEWSON: LEADING US INTO THE LIGHT Liv Hewson is the voice of our future. They played in Santa Clarita Diet and learned a lot about 'themselves during that time. Using their platform to give a voice to the LGBT community, their inner light shines over and inspires many. While on the show, Hewson truly discovered who they were as an actor and got a better understanding of the industry they have gotten into. They will be playing in the highly anticipated film 'Bombshell,' and could not contain their excitement about it! Truly making an impact in this world, Liv Hewson continues to inspire and prosper a little more everyday.
What was it like working with Drew Barrymore on “Santa Clarita Diet?” What did you learn from this role? I learned so much making Santa Clarita Diet. When I booked it I was still living in Australia, I'd never worked on a project that size, I still felt very new. And to be honest, I still do, but the three years we spent in that universe taught me an invaluable amount about the industry and myself as a performer. A massive part of that was Drew. Getting to know her, getting to watch her work, getting to play around with her and Tim and Skyler for three very silly and rewarding summers. I think about it very fondly. In the recent Netflix film Let It Snow, you play Dorrie. How can you relate to this character? Well, we're both gay! I was also out in high school, we're both a bit goofy. She's probably a lot more used to snow than I am. Throughout the film, she's searching for reciprocal care, both romantically and platonically; she's constantly reaching out to people, asking that they meet her in the middle. I really like that about her. It's a vulnerable thing, to put yourself out there for people. It's very brave. She's a bit braver than me in that regard, I think. Dorrie’s first hookup was with a girl named Kerry who wouldn’t come out in front of her friends. What was important about this plot? What's important about that is that Dorrie doesn't know. It doesn't really occur to her that she's being shrugged off because Kerry's closeted, Dorrie assumes it's because she's not cool enough or not wanted, that it's something personal. It's interesting, because there's an almost sweet
naivety to that. It doesn't even register as a possibility to Dorrie that Kerry's not out, or might not be able to be expressive around her friends. It was important to me, too, reading the script, that Kerry isn't punished for being closeted, by Dorrie or the narrative itself. There's this underlying cultural idea that everyone needs to come out as soon as possible, that staying closeted is a mistake or a personal failure. I think that's really dangerous; sometimes it's not safe! Sometimes a person isn't ready! Coming out can be really hard, there's no right way to do it and it's a process that deserves space and respect. So it was really important to me that once Dorrie understood the situation, Kerry wasn't judged for not being out yet. She's treated with kindness and understanding, and that's all anyone needs, really. Tell us about your efforts for different organizations in the LGBTQ+ community. Why is this cause important to you? We're living in an interesting time, to be as diplomatic as possible. I think everyone can feel that. There have been amazing strides made in advancing the rights of LGBT people, but the work isn't anywhere near done yet. My job affords me a platform and resources, I want to make sure I'm using them in a way that's effective and helpful. I think about what it was like for me growing up -and like, I'm 24, that was basically last week- but I was so unsure of myself, so confused by who I was and what that meant. I spent a lot of time feeling very alienated and alone. That doesn't need to happen. And then I think about larger structural issues like housing, access to medical care, protection in the workplace. There's things to be done, you know? I want to help.

Your next role is in the highly anticipated film Bombshell. What made you want to be a part of this project? I remember I got the email asking me to audition and just flipped out. It was the team involved, the subject matter, the cast, I was just blindsided by it. I felt very strongly, very early, that it was going to be special. When projects like that come along I always think, "Well it doesn't matter if I get this or not, I just can't wait to see it." But then I got it. What was it like to work alongside some of the best actresses in Hollywood? How have they helped you become a better actor? I mean, it was nuts. It was incredible. Brigette and I were already friends, so the two of us were kind of soaking up this environment together, occasionally turning to each other and going, "Is this real? Just checking this is real." The set was a really comfortable, focused environment. Everyone came on board looking to offer and receive ideas in equal measure. We were encouraged to try things, suggest things, talk things out. It was a giving set, very thoughtful and communicative. When I think about making Bombshell, I think about care.
Bello
What do you hope fans get out of this film? For me, it's less about telling people what I hope they get out of it and more about asking people what they got out of it. I'm really looking forward to the conversations it will spark, partially because I think some of them will be a surprise. What is your dream role and why? This is a hard one because one of my favorite things about my job is the capacity it has to be surprising. I love that actors get to constantly move around and try different people on, I'm very greedy for that variety. I want to sink my teeth into as many different things as possible, and if I find something I haven't thought of before, that's what excites me the most. Having said that, I always wanted to play Peter Pan. I love archetypes, I love fairy stories, and I think I always saw myself in him a bit. Peter Pan was definitely a non binary touchstone for me when I was younger, even if I didn't have words for it at the time.

If I could live anywhere, I’d live everywhere. I would have apartments and houses anywhere I’d like; Australia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oregon, Philippines, Italy, Japan. Places that i can live in and go to at a moments notice anytime I like. How has your family background influenced who you are today? My family background influenced who i am today through teaching me important values in life. For example: how to keep fighting even when you’ve been kicked down too many times to count & that a diamond doesn't start out polished and shining, for it once was nothing special, but with enough pressure and time, becomes spectacular. Have you ever thought of pursuing another career in the future? Yes, I’ve thought about pursuing other careers and lives that I could have, but I think, although I’m quite young to be sure about what I want at 17 for the rest of my life, I’m adamant & rather stubborn & thrilled about pursuing the career of an artist, forever.
One of my fondest memories on stage was, performing

a chocolate love affair Add some thick homemade whipped cream to make it more decadent. For man, that delicious hot drink is nothing more than a cup of nostalgia.Originally served cold with water, cornmeal, and chili peppers by the Mayans, cocoa beans crossed half the world to be introduced in Spain during the early 1500's by explorer Cortez. The upper class started to prefer drinking chocolate when it was served hot, sweetened, and without the chili peppers.A century later, it made its way to Versailles in France and Hot Chocolate became a hit. Growing up in France, my go-to "chocolat chaud" was generally Poulain or Nesquick. Both are delicious choices. But when I moved from the South of France to Paris I got to experience the yumminess that is Angelina Chocolat Chaud. 226 Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris, France Here are my tips to recreate that Angelina decadent French Chocolat Chaud: Do not use water. Duh! Uses half whole Milk and half heavy cream. Heat (do not boil) this milky mix. - remove from heat Throw in your chopped chocolate | Choose a dark or bittersweet chocolate. Mix until completely melted. Served warm with a lot of thick home made whipped cream. Enjoy your chocolat chaud!

WINTERWONDERLAND PARIS Photography Stephane Marquet
Paris is the city of love, the city of lights but rarely we picture it as a winterwonderland. Back in February of this year, I found myself in Paris for a week and one magical morning woke up in Narnia ... Now, having lived in Paris for a decade, I knew the virgin white look would not last long so I took my camera rushed to get a "pain au chocolat' and walked to my favorite Parisian spots. Today I am inviting you to join me and see Paris unlike I have ever experienced.

La Tour Eiffel This is the fist picture I took walking out of the apartment that was located next to the Champ de Mars and the Eiffel Tower. I simply could not believe how stunning and surrealist the scenery was. It had that soft sound of a snow covered landscape and Paris was even more beautiful than ever. Everyone was looking around with that "am I dreaming?" look. Kids were playing while the adults as they were looking at each other, simply smiling ... and trust me that is not a Parisian custom.

Le Jardin Des Tuileries Knowing that time was of the essence regarding that immaculate snow, I hopped in the metro (super convenient when not on strike for weeks like right now ... but that is for another tale for people asking me "OMG you lived in Paris and moved out? Why?"...) I just wanted my next stop to be the Tuilerie Garden. Because of the "heavy snow", Parisian parks were to remain closed for the majority of the day, which I knew would help me capture places untouched. I was not dissapointed. I knew the perfect spot: it was right in between the gardens and the Louvre that would give me the chance to take the picture perfect snow day in Paris. Of all the photos I took that day, the picture above of Rivoli is definitely my favorite. 71

While absolutely picture perfect, after 10 years of living in Los Angeles, and two hours of being excited by frozen water, I was pretty much done and ready to go to a CafĂŠ and right back home. I walked to Place Vendome located right next to the Louvre and the Tuileries for one last picture so my FOMO would not hit me too hard later but when your socks are wet, you know it's time to go home. We had a few more days of snow following that magical day but nothing close to what I had witnessed. That day will remain as one of the most beautiful moments in Paris. So if you are lucky enough to find yourself in Paris after a heavy snow storm, make sure to make the most of it.
