2017 is not even half finished, and it's already proven to be the year of a lifetime for Nathalie Emmanuel. In April, the 28-year-old British actress watched as her film The Fate of the Furious became the highest-grossing opening of all time -- even surpassing Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This July her blockbuster fantasy series, Game of Thrones, returns for its seventh season on HBO. And having recently returned home from shooting a cameo in Maze Runner: The Death Cure in dreamy South Africa, Nathalie is embarking on an exciting new chapter in her career. BELLO caught up with Nathalie by phone and she gave us an overview of what's coming up ...

MARCH 2018 Following the amazing debut of our first Bello Style issue in January, we decided to launch the second issue with a huge bang - quite literally - as our release party shook the walls of IceLink's rooftop in West Hollywood with some of the industry's most coveted celebrities, who came to support the host of the night and cover girl Larsen Thompson. Our guests enjoyed a night of dancing and networking, not to mention the exclusive gifts from IceLink and Jo Malone, London. This second issue came together so fast and organically it only took us a couple days to finish everything up. That said, everything was a lot of fun to produce, and as usual, the photoshoots and interviews allowed for the ever expanding BELLO family to collaborate and put our minds to work to bring you an issue you won't get tired of reading. Our cover theme was clear and evident: the 80s just seemed to be overwhelmingly present in all fashion shows this season, from Paris to New York. A time when gender lines started to blur, with glam and androgeny becoming a big presence in both men and women's daily lives, influenced by pop icons such as David Bowie, Prince and Madonna; and now 30 years later, making a huge comeback into our fashion culture of the 2010's. Larsen was shot in our studio in Los Angeles by our amazing team: photography by Arthur GalvĂŁo, styling by AmbiKa, makeup by Grace Phillips, hair by Sabrina Porsche, and production by Stephane Marquet & Maison PrivĂŠe. Make sure to check out our exclusive features with Cleo Anthony (BELLO Spotlight), Savannah Kennick (IT Girl) and Timothy Granaderos (IT Guy), as well as our Model of The Month jewelry story featuring Selina Khan. As we have done in recent issues, we will continue to listen to your requests! @BELLOmag Ciao, Alek

AT ONLY 17 YEARS OLD, LARSEN THOMPSON HAS ALREADY MADE A NAME FOR HERSELF IN BOTH THE FASHION AND MUSIC WORLDS, BENDING THE LINES BETWEEN EACH AND FORGING HER OWN UNIQUE PATH. WITH HER FEARLESS PERSONALITY AND ENDLESS AMBITION, IT’S NO WONDER THIS FIERY REDHEAD DANCER TURNED MODEL IS SHAKING UP THE INDUSTRY AND STEALING SPOTLIGHTS EVERYWHERE SHE GOES. FOR HER BELLO COVER STORY, WE ASKED HER ABOUT HER WHIRLWIND ADVENTURE TO STARDOM AND WHAT’S NEXT ON HER EPIC JOURNEY.
Larsen Thompson may be a triple-threat now, but her career started off in one field – dance. “I started dancing at the age of 4 and fell in love with it from the start. Especially getting dressed in amazing costumes and entertaining people!” Her love of dance blossomed as she grew, eventually skyrocketing her to fame thanks to a viral video filmed with dance partner, Taylor Hatala. “Dance allows me to be free and express myself through motion. Also, it gives me confidence to be comfortable in front of the camera.” Through her work in dance, she caught the eye of company that then helped catapult her into the modeling world. “I was working on a commercial and the brand asked if I wanted to work on their national print campaign, too. It was another way to express myself, which is what I truly enjoy. After doing a lot of print work I auditioned with Next Management and was signed globally! From there I’ve been able to travel the world and work with some of my favorite brands and magazines.” When asked how her dance has helped her transition into modeling, she had this to say. “At an early age, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to perform on live television and concerts. It is part of me and I’m grateful for the foundation it provided me to further expand my career into modeling.” Speaking of being thankful, Larsen strives to maintain this attitude through all of her work. Her goals? “To be humble, continue to train/practice my craft, [be] thankful for the opportunities, and give back to others!”
27
When asked to recount some of her favorite campaigns to work, Larsen mentioned that her favorite campaign to date was working with Monica Vinader in London where she modeled their jewelry line. “I was blessed to work with Caroline Issa on this project, who I now consider a mentor and friend!” Larsen has also been involved with brands such as Betsey Johnson, Target, and Gucci on a variety of projects, and is definitely looking for more. “I had an opportunity to work with Gucci on a Vogue Italia fashion short film project a few years ago. I would be thrilled and honored to work on a global campaign with them.” Her most surreal experience so far? Dancing on stage as a backup dancer for the Janet Jackson during her tour visit in Los Angeles. “Performing live and meeting this music legend was a true gift and I’m forever grateful.” So how does she balance it all with her personal life? “I’m lucky to have a very flexible school schedule and a family that supports me 100%. I challenge myself to dedicate time in acting and singing when I’m not working to explore other crafts.”
'When asked what she would be doing if she wasn’t a dancing, acting, or modeling, she had one answer – soccer. This was her second love growing up and she could definitely see herself playing college soccer if she wasn’t in the entertainment industry. We finished off the interview with one of our favorite questions – if someone were to make a documentary of her life, what would she call it? “Driven, because I have learned early in life to work hard for your goals/dreams, learn from mentors to lift you up, and channel my passion in whatever I focus on.” So what’s next for Larsen Thompson? We asked her and she gave us a sneak peek: “I was in my first feature film that wrapped in January which was a blast. I hope to drop a single at the end of this year stay tuned…” We can’t wait to see what Larsen does next.
When she does have downtime, she makes the most of it by spending time with her boyfriend and family. In fact, whenever she works on projects that require her to travel, it becomes a family affair. “The whole family comes and we make an extended vacation out of it.”

What was your favorite memory from shooting season one of She's Gotta Have It? Oh, gosh, there is no one in particular. Every day was a series of amazing experiences. Some I loved, others I hated, but all of them amounted to the most extraordinary time of my life. Five months of love, pain, fear, joy, growth and magic in New York effing City! How did you get the news of the season 2 renewal, and how did you celebrate it? I was in Hawaii for New Years. I’d rented an RV and was rounding the windward side of Oahu when I got a call from Spike. I pulled into a gas station, we spoke and he told me we got picked up. I immediately posted an Instagram thanking the fans for their love and support. The next morning I took surfing lessons. Did you have any one-on-one moments of inspiration with Spike Lee? A few. Oddly enough I don’t think they’re something I could share. Not to be mysterious but the magic of the moment was exactly that: in the moment. To tell their stories won’t do justice to the profound effects they’ve had on me so I think I’ll keep these close to the chest. But to be in the presence of a legend and/or genius you gain insights that can and should change you. Sometimes the most impactful being the most subtle. That’s the case with Spike. His genius sneaks up on you. You've also worked with Taraji P. Henson. Tell her fans something about her that they might not already know. She’s crazy! Just as fun and crazy in person as she appears! Taraji’s a force of nature. The kind of person that happens TO you! She’s absolutely delightful. You just celebrated your birthday, so...Happy Birthday from the BELLO team! How did you celebrate, and what are your intentions for the year ahead? Thank you! Yeah, I was surprised this year with something I’ve wanted for as long as I can remember -- helicopter lessons! Best surprise ever -- a young boy’s dream come true. They’re hard as hell to fly and take forever to master but, hey, a thousand-mile journey starts with a step, so here we go. You seem like quite a style hawk. What's the one item in your wardrobe you consider your favorite piece? Yeah, I love exploring fashion and experimenting and finding out who I am in the moment. My absolute favorite piece right now would have to be my Maison Martin Margiela Leopard print Chelsea boots. I’d been searching high and low for nice faux leopard Chelsea’s, but to no avail. Then one day, in a shop on Melrose, POW! Only pair in the store and in my size. So rockstar! Lenny would be proud.

Cover Look: Dress ONE TRIEU YEU belt CHARLES & RON Earrings DORI CSENGERI Right: Jacket OTT Dress ONE TRIEU YEU Earrings JGERARD At the young age of 19, impactful actress, natural model and enthusiastic fashionista Savannah Kennick has already made an impression in the entertainment industry. Having already celebrated many successes including her recent win for “Best Actress in a Short Film” for BLOOM as well as being nominated for both the Young Artist and the Young Entertainer Awards at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival for her role in the indie horror film HOLIDAYS, Savannah is definitely expected to celebrate many more milestones in the years to come. BELLO Magazine had the chance to chat with the young rising star about BLOOM, her upcoming projects and fashion input.
Recently, we know you were presented with the award Best Actress in a Short Film for BLOOM. How does it feel to be honored at the Hollywood Reel Film Festival? Ah, its such an honor! BLOOM was such a special project to me. When you are filming you are never really thinking about accolades or approval from others, you just want to make a good movie with a fascinating storyline so to have someone say I did my work well means a lot to me. Tell us about the film, what can you tell us about the character? The role? And how your character interacts with the various other characters in the film. In BLOOM I play Annabelle, a naïve young girl with big dreams of becoming a fashion model. Annabelle is such a fresh face, she captures the attention of a well-known photographer, but then in the middle of their photoshoot another beautiful girl comes in and interrupts. Being so naïve Annabelle pushes herself to prove her worth, even if it means leaving her morals behind. The story means so much to me because I started my career in New York City and I know the feeling of wanting to prove that at 14 years old I could be as comfortable as the 20 year olds on set. Who are some actresses you look up to? Have any of them directly influenced your acting career? I’m inspired by so many artists. I try to steal a little bit from each one of them. I adore Cate Blanchett and her power, she is so classically beautiful. I also love Amy Adams and the quiet strength she carries into every role and Rooney Mara who inspires me to become a more badass version of myself.

Jacket OTT Dress ONE TRIEU YEU Earrings JGERARD What are some projects you are currently working on? Savannah: I’ve been super busy, I just shot a few episodes on a TV show where I got to work with some incredible actors. I also had a supporting role in the thriller “Do Not Reply!” Is there a dream role of yours that you would want to play? Oh, I’d love to play a psychopath. A role like Rosamund Pike in “Gone Girl” would be a dream! As you know, Bello is a lifestyle and fashion magazine. Can you describe to you us your style? Favorite fashion designers, etc.? Honestly, I’m still figuring it out myself. I love 70’s glam. I love babydoll dresses and vintage jeans and silk shirts. It’s so hard for me to stay just one aesthetic all of the time. Stevie Nicks is my biggest style icon, if I could run around in a gypsy cape and thigh high boots everyday I totally would. I like love how crazy some of the pieces from Gucci are but I also love how classic Chanel is. It’s such a toss up. Fun Question: What historical figure would you want to play on the silver screen? Sharon Tate or Grace Kelly for sure, they were such beautiful, radiant women inside and out. What are some words of wisdom you would like to share with your fans and young talent out there that may want to follow in your steps? There is a real great quote from a poet that says “your art is not about how many people like your work, your art is about if your heart and soul likes you work. It’s about how honest you are with yourself and you must never trade honesty for reliability. I think it’s really important to realize that at the end of the day you have to be proud of yourself and the path that you are taking because a lot of outside distractions can happen when you chose a creative career path.

Timothy Granaderos, 13 Reasons Why star, has had a busy work schedule these past few months. Wrapping up a few projects like 13 Reasons Why Season 2, T@agged, and Marvel: Runaways. Now how did Timothy juggle it all? “My support group, like my agents, managers and producers. I mean from my end, I like to work, so going from one job to the next wasn’t an issue. The moment it stopped I was like “what do I do now?’”
than behind it. He started modeling and then later transitioned into commercial acting. But where did this model/actor come from? Has he always had a thing for acting? “I was an athlete growing up. My dad tried to get me into acting, but soccer took up all of my time. I was always interested in acting, but never really committed to the idea of doing it until I started booking stuff. I always had that passion but I think it was buried underneath being a soccer player.”
Excited for the upcoming 13 Reasons Why season, Timothy shared with us as much as he could. “I can’t say much, but I think when we pick up where we left off on season one, a lot of questions are going to be answered. I think people are going to have their jaws on the floor from episode one on. That’s all I can say.”
Timothy didn’t even call himself an actor until he filmed his first pilot. “I think I was embarrassed because there are real professional actors out there and I didn’t want to label myself as one because at the time I really didn’t feel like I was one.”
Playing a bully on the show is interesting for Timothy because he isn’t anything close to that in real life. “It’s not in my nature really. But it’s fun in a way. With every character you have to somehow relate to it, so when I am in the grocery store, I try mean-mugging people…but as soon as they look at me I can’t help but smile. It is fun playing a bully, but it is also enlightening because you are looking at things from a different perspective.” Timothy got his start in the industry with help from his older sister who is a makeup artist here in California. “She called me while I was still living in Michigan and asked if I want to move out to LA. She got me a job on a TV show as a production assistant. I packed a bag and flew out the following week.”
Living in Michigan most of his life and now living here in LA, Timothy finds the two places vastly different. “LA is beautiful, there’s so much food, music, and culture. There are so many different types of people, its urban yet there are mountains. Don’t get me wrong I love Michigan, and I am so proud to be from Michigan, but the two places are drastically different.” Lastly we wanted to know what Timothy’s everyday style is. “Pretty casual. I usually slap on a pair of vans, some eccentric socks, comfortable jeans, and a t-shirt. Maybe a hoodie and a flat bill. Street comfy I would say, ready to run or skate at any time.”
Staying in the production side of things for a bit, Timothy quickly realized he wanted to be in front of the camera, rather

THE OSCARS 2018 SUNDAY MARCH 4TH, THE 90TH ACADEMY AWARDS CEREMONY REWARDED, AT THE DOLBY THEATER IN LOS ANGELES, THE BEST OF CINEMA OF THE YEAR 2017. ON THE RED CARPET, CELEBRITIES HAVE UNVEILED THEIR FINEST ASSETS AND OFFERED A REAL PARADE OF LOOKS ALL EVENLY GLAMOROUS. Written by PHILIPPE UTER Focus on my six favorites looks that stood out during one of the most magical fashion/cinema nights of the year.
One of the most expected look was Margot Robbie. She has been incredibly perfect during all the Award season. From Gucci to Givenchy Kate Young, the marvelous celebrity stylist, never got it wrong ! We all remember Margot in her gold python Tom Ford dress last year. This year, she decided to go with a white bustier dress from Chanel. The immaculate dress with embroidered garland was just flawless. A little detail that I personaly didn’t like was the lining of the dress. I would have prefered to see her feet. Another astonishing white dress on the carpet was worn by Jane Fonda. I don’t know how she does it but the 80 years old lady looked beyond perfect ! This Balmain dress designed for her was just incredible. Tanya Gill, her stylist, decided to go with a structured mermaid dress with big shoulder pads. Helped with the impeccable hair style, this look gived Fonda a strong and powerfull attitude.

Gold beaded vintage Dior Couture dress. I think it says it all for Jennifer Lawrence! Stylists Jill Lincoln + Jordan Johnson dared choosing something vintage and pretty simple but with a chic beachy hair style. They gave her appearance a strong and contemporary look. Fresh and young. She appeared effortless. Speaking of Jennifer…. Another major carpet moment who is also a client of Jill Lincoln + Jordan Johnson, Jennifer Garner. Strolling like a Greek goddess, they chose a timeless piece from Versace Atelier. Classic with a perfect touch of modernism, the color. The Klein blue contrasting the red of the carpet made a very strong impression. From the train to the floating fabric, this look has everything to remember for years. Another ancient greek style dress for Zendaya. She and her stylist Law Roach have been working on amazing appearances for many years now. This

one is absolutely outstanding. It may look effortless but this one off-shoulder dress from Giambattista Valli Couture toped with a high bun is actually well studied. From the perfect maroon color that matches her eyes to the beautiful white diamonds jewels that pops her skin tone, everything is gathered to make a sexy and flamboyant silhouette. Last but not least, Nicole Kidman! She was absolutely stunning in her Armani Privé. There are no words and if you ask me she wins the Oscar for Best Dressed. Like Jennifer Garner, she also chose to go blue. However, Julia von Boehm her stylist, decided to go deeper to a sapphire tone enlighted by the shine of the fabric. This dress was sculptural and very graphic, proving that even if Nicole is 50 years old, she still has the body of a young girl. The big bow on the front made us question ourselves « Do we like it or not ? », the answer is yes ! Unexpected, it marks a point on the perfect symetry of the dress. Bravo Nicole !

FASHION AND CELEBRITIES : LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT CELEBRITIES AND BRANDS GO HAND IN HAND. FOR DECADES, LUXURY BRANDS USE CELEBRITY MUSES TO PROMOTE THEIR BRAND. TODAY, WITH NEW WAYS TO COMMUNICATE, FASHION BRANDS MUST LEARN TO ENGAGE WITH THEIR AUDIENCE IN EXCITING WAYS. How does a brand stand out from it’s competitors and use influencers to drive their market? Social media is a natural fit for public relations and one of many tools businesses can use to protect and promote their reputations. When public relations and marketing teams combine their efforts on social media, brands often enjoy immediate positive results. Today, social media helps public relations fulfill fashion brands with a more nuanced role by helping with relationship management, identifying brand threats, and engaging influencers. For brand reasoning, explanations, and crisis response, modern public relations professionals may look to social media as the first line of defense in an increasingly connected world. Social media platforms, such as the ever so popular Instagram, creates influencers in fashion, beauty, health, food and many more creative fields. Their posts are highly influential and easily gain the attention of the consumer creating a loyal following that they trust.
61
Product placement is vital on celebrities in order to market to a more massive audience. It-girls such as Gigi Hadid, Kaia Gerber, and Hailey Baldwin are influencers that give brands a voice that they could never use on their own. Social media influencers have immense digital followings that brands can tap into to promote offerings and protect reputations. When PR professionals create relationships between brands and influencers, they’re really adding another line of both promotions and defense the brand can use to it’s advantage. As a PR, you create the lifestyle of a brand by having influencers visually represent the brand as well as becoming an influencer in the market. They proactively engage in reputation management activities, counsel leadership, and identify potential problems in a business's relationship with the public. The consumer is no longer the same, and fashion brands must meet the demand by always being more creative.
