The Wonderful World of Wide Open
Walls
by Chris Narloch
This eye-popping mural — pun intended — graces an exterior wall of the Burgers & Brew in West Sac, and it’s really something to see.
WOW Sacramento has been creating large outdoor murals for a number of years now, and the permanent works of art, which were mostly in midtown to begin with, now add color to buildings all around Sacramento each summer.
Since I am a free public art junkie, I recently completed my tour of last year’s murals, and I recommend spending a day driving around town to check out these wonderful works of art by world-class artists from around the globe.

Meow Meow Will Have You Purring Like a Kitten
Itmight not be too much to say that a Meow Meow cabaret performance is a life-changing event.
Named one of the “Top Performers of the Year” by The New Yorker, the spectacular crowd-surfing tragi-comedienne has been called a “diva of the highest order” (New York Post) — but one whose insecurities are always simmering just below the surface.
Careening from French chanson to Radiohead, with brilliant dashes of Brecht and Weill in between, she’s a remarkable singer and physical comedian who hypnotizes and inspires her audiences with ease.
Hilarious and heartbreaking in equal measure, an evening with Meow Meow will have you holding on to your seats and grabbing for handkerchiefs.
You can experience Meow Meow on Friday evening, March 31, in Davis. To purchase tickets, go to: www.mondaviarts.org/event/2022-23/meow-meow
