Happy Ostara! The Spring equinox is upon us on March 20! Dance, sing and welcome the resurgence of life back into the Northern Hemisphere! Or hunker down at home from extreme wind and hail—who knows at this point. With all the beautiful trees lost over the last two months we might have to rename ourselves the City of Sawdust. But as we embrace Spring, let’s do it with some fun events!

March 9 is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD). Nearly 23% of people living with HIV in the U.S. are women who also make up 19% of all new diagnoses. Women ages 25 - 44 account for the highest number of new diagnoses among that 19%. Learn more about advances in testing, treatment, and prevention at HIV.gov

March 20 is not only Ostara, but it is National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. The observance is a national effort to encourage Native Americans, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians to get educated and tested for HIV.
