“Reach Out, Touch Faith” at Golden 1 Center
That’s Dave Gahan, one of two remaining permanent members of the iconic synthrock supergroup Depeche Mode, posing on stage like your “personal Jesus.”
Martin Gore is the other half of the current lineup, and the 60-year-old rock gods are still filling arenas with their massive catalog of hypnotic hits, which include “People Are People,” “Enjoy the Silence,” “Policy of Truth,” “Blasphemous Rumours,” “World in My Eyes,” “Everything Counts,” “Just Can’t Get Enough,” and “Strangelove.”
In a major coup for River City, Depeche Mode will kick off its “Memento Mori” world tour this March 23, at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center. Tickets are almost gone, but you can see what’s left by clicking the image to the right.
P!NK is a beautiful badass. Everyone knows it, and she knows it. Just look at the cover image from her just-released ninth studio album, “Trustfall.” Who else could rock a soft pink silk dress with chunky black boots and make it work? The singer’s new music is similarly yin and yang, with moving ballads and a bittersweet love song dedicated to her late father (“When I Get There”) sharing the disc with party tracks like “Never Gonna Not Dance Again.” Her duet with Chris Stapleton (“Just Say I’m Sorry”) is a standout, and P!NK also corrals First Aid Kit and The Lumineers for collaborations. “Trustfall” isn’t the artist’s finest CD, but the songs should sound even better when she belts them out at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center this fall.
