Letter From the Lifestyle Team

Fall is on the Horizon!

As the heat of summer gently fades, we welcome the arrival of fall (my personal favorite season), a season that brings a crisp, invigorating air and a sense of renewal to Esplanade at Northgate. There is something magical about this time of year, and I am thrilled to share in the warmth of the season with all of you.

The vibrant hues of the changing leaves create a picturesque landscape that is perfect for leisurely strolls through our community, as well as the beautiful mountains not too far away. It’s a sight that never fails to inspire and remind us of the beauty in nature’s cycles.

Evenings by the fire pit will become a cherished tradition here, and what better way to enjoy them than with the delightful aroma of roasting marshmallows? Gather around with friends and fellow neighbors, share stories, and create memories while indulging in this simple yet delightful treat.

As we embrace the season, let’s not forget the fun and excitement of Halloween. Whether you enjoy dressing up, carving pumpkins, or simply appreciating the festive decorations, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Keep an eye out for our upcoming Halloween events that promise to be filled with joy and laughter.

Fall is truly a special time, and I look forward to experiencing all its wonders with you. Let’s make the most of this season together, cherishing each moment and creating new traditions at Northgate.

Inspired Travel

Destinations by Esplanade

As an inspired offering through Esplanade Resort Experiences, Members are invited to spark their sense of adventure and immerse themselves in the wonders across the globe. This luxury travel program offers travel-related concierge services, benefits, outings and inspired itineraries that are uniquely curated around the Esplanade lifestyle, with themes of wellness, culinary, adventure, and culture. Whether you’re thrill seeking with zip lining through the Costa Rican jungle, embarking on an expedition inside the ice castles of Antarctica or staying close to home and experiencing a local excursion planned by your lifestyle team, Destinations by Esplanade promises to awaken the explorer in everyone!

Get inspired by a story from two of our Members, Linda and Dennis Ferry, who had the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable experience with Destinations by Esplanade: Charismatic Mediterranean Cruise.

“This was our first cruise and it was absolutely wonderfulthe trip of a lifetime. We toured Barcelona, Spain (Sagrada La Familia), Palamos, Spain, Rome, Italy (the Vatican), Amalfi Coast and Poisitano, Igoumenitsa, Greece (The Meteora Monasteries), Argostoli Cephalonia, Greece, Taormina, Sicily (loved it here), Kotor, Montenegro on the Dalmatian Coast, Split Croatia, and Venice on our own (one of our favorites)! Our experience with Destinations was delightful. Everything went smoothly and they thought of everything, all we had to do was be present.

Also, because we booked as a part of Destinations by Esplanade, Oceania knew that I had just retired. We were at dinner in the French Restaurant with another couple and out comes a cake. When we

returned to our room it was all decked out with balloons and banners and champagne ready! It was such a nice surprise! We highly recommend Destinations by Esplanade and will certainly use them again for future travels.”

Freedom Park | 1900 East Boulevard, Charlotte charlottecultureguide.com

Since 1964, Festival in the Park has been bringing good music, good art and good times to Charlotteans and visitors from around the world. The sounds of “big band music” drift across Freedom Park’s lake whose still surface reflects the lights strung from the artists tents. The scents of a variety of food fill the air, as small children

with painted faces happily produce their first art work. Others find the many talented artists who can create an original work of art to grace their home or to give as the perfect gift. First time visitors are taken by the simple, relaxed atmosphere. Old timers marvel at the freshness of each year’s offerings, as memories from long ago festivals are revisited. Cucumber-Mint Sugar Body Scrub

Hydrating cucumber and cooling mint bring soothing and inflammation-quelling properties to this body exfoliator. The fine grains of sugar help shed dry skin, and skinquenching coconut oil sweeps in to give a supple glow that lasts even after washing.

INGREDIENTS

» 1/3 cup chopped cucumber

» 1/3 cup fresh mint leaves

» Scant 2/3 cup granulated sugar

» 2 teaspoons raw virgin coconut oil, melted

DIRECTIONS

» In a small bowl or mortar and pestle, mash cucumber and mint into a pulp. Squeeze the liquid out into a second bowl and discard the pulp. Add sugar and melted coconut oil to the liquid and mix until fully incorporated.

» Apply to clean, damp skin using circular motions to exfoliate the skin. Rinse off completely, then towel dry. Moisturize as desired.

» Makes about 2/3 cup. Use immediately, or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week. The coconut oil will harden in the fridge; bring scrub to room temperature before using.
