GENERAL MANAGER July was a great month for Oxbow CC! We were blessed with overall good weather throughout the month, minus a few afternoon soakers in the middle of July. Derby weekend was a great success, it was great to see so many of you enjoy our favorite weekend of the year! Congratulations to Cliff and Bryce Mattson for taking the trophy! August looks to be another busy month for the club, with lots of great opportunities for you to come out and enjoy your club. We continue to focus on ways to deliver a great experience to all of our membership, and we love to get your feedback on what you love, and what we could be doing better. On the construction end of things, activity is peaking on all fronts. The clubhouse broke ground the last week of July, and the foundation for the clubhouse will start any day. Working with the architect, our design committee has done great work helping to put together the interior of the clubhouse. I would like to thank Audrey Newman, Tami Henke, Shannon Olson, Mike Bindas, and Heidi Holland for donating their time to represent the membership in the design. It is coming together very nicely, and I have ordered renderings of the inside spaces for the membership, which I will post around our current clubhouse when complete. On the golf course side, activity has grown exponentially over the past month. Cart path work started late last week, and topsoil is going down on all of the fairways. David will have more in his section of the newsletter regarding all of the progress that has been made since last month. It is amazing the daily and weekly changes to the site. With that being said, Oxbow is asking that members do not drive or walk on the site at this point. The club will be sending out an email for those that would like to visit the site with properly trained personal later this month. Please watch your email for this, and sign up for a tour! There is a lot of heavy equipment, as well as moving earth on the site, and we don’t want any accidents to happen. Additionally, there are many areas that it is very important remain undisturbed by members, as things like cart paths and greens and tees are in process, and can be disrupted by walking /driving in the wrong areas. Thank you for your cooperation on this.

TOM KEPPEL One question I get frequently is about the pool, and what it will look like. We are currentCONTROLLER ACCOUNTING@OXBOWCC.COM; EXT. 10 ly working with the architect on the pool design. We have a committee made up of 10

members that are helping us ensure we build a pool that the membership will love. Yes, it will be larger, and have more amenities than our current pool. We are working toward a final pool design, and I will send that out to the entire membership once we have a rendering of the entire pool area. I would expect the design to be completed in September. Lastly, I just want to address an issue that has recently come up on the course. Just a reminder to everyone, it is the policy of Oxbow CC that anyone who wishes to drive a cart on club grounds, whether it be a private cart or one of our rentals, must have a driver’s license. This is a liability issue for the club if something were to happen to anyone we let drive the course without a license. Please call or email me if you have any questions regarding this. I hope everyone is having a great summer. Thank you for your continued support of your club! Sedi 2

Pour soy sauce, water, and vinegar into a large, nonmetal bowl. Whisk in brown sugar, white sugar, pepper, sesame oil, garlic, and onion until the sugars have dissolved. Submerge the ribs into the marinade, and cover bowl with plastic wrap. Refrigerate marinating ribs for 7 to 12 hours; the longer marinated, the better end results. Once marinating is complete, grill ribs as desired. Tip: Use reserved marinade to baste while grilling.

Greetings Oxbow Country Club Members! For those of you who I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is Alex Henderson. I came over to Oxbow in midMay after spending the better part of 9 years at Fargo Country Club, where I worked in the golf shop, restaurant, and accounting department. I enjoy talking with people, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. I am very passionate about my job, along with the members and employees here at Oxbow! Over the next few months I will do my very best to meet as many of you as I can and will encourage the service staff to do the same; so please, when a staff member asks for your name, don’t just give them your number. We genuinely want to get to know each and every one of our members by name! If you have any suggestions or feedback, I would love to hear about it; don’t hesitate to talk to me in person, over the phone, or email me at alex@oxbowcc.com! Time flies in the summer but August is one of my favorite months. There is still plenty of great weather, golf, and time to spend at the pool! Let one of our enthusiastic service staff members greet you in the grill with your favorite cocktail or food dish that Chef James and his team have prepared. In addition to our weekly specials Tuesday through Thursday, come out and enjoy your favorite bottle of wine at 50% off on Friday evenings! Again, on behalf of the entire Food & Beverage team, we are excited and eager to make your dining experience here at Oxbow the best it can possibly be!

Hello Members! For a quick recap- July handed us with many heavy rain events in which the sand bunkers washed out on consecutive nights. The sand in the bunkers on the left side of #6 and #9 green has become contaminated and no longer drains properly. We have begun to remove this sand and will also replace the drain lines to improve the drainage. This work will not eliminate future washouts, but is only meant to improve playability for these two hazards. The bunkers on the new course will have a different type of drainage system installed to help reduce the washouts. Plus, the surrounding features around the new bunkers will redirect water away from the sand. Expect this repair work to continue into late August. The construction of the new golf holes is moving along at an accelerated pace this month. Work has moved from the perimeter levee holes to the middle of the course. Drainage work is the leader of all the construction steps and has been completed on the driving range Spreading Topsoil on New Hole #11 and in progress on hole #10. The green complexes on holes 1, 10 and 15 are being shaped and awaiting the architects approval. Fairway and rough sub-grading have started and irrigation will follow when these grades are approved. The spreading of topsoil has been completed on holes 11 and 12. This work is in progress on hole 16 and will move to hole 17 by next week. The irrigation system pump station has been started up and the irrigation crews will cleanout pipes and start testing sprinkler heads as holes become complete. Grassing should begin on the completed holes by the middle of the 17 Green Under Construction month. We have had discussions about course etiquette in the past and I would like to clarify the issue of how and when to replace divots. A simple rule to remember is if there is soil on the bottom of the divot place it back into the void and step it down firmly. The soil should have enough moisture in it to support the plants until the next rain or irrigation cycle. By placing the sod divot back on to its original location recovery will only be days. Filling a divot with sand and seed can take weeks to fully heal. This is especially important on tees and the hole 18 fairway due to their limited size and the amount of play they receive. There is a time to use the sand and seed mix when your divot is not thick enough to support the grass or it falls apart. We have sand and seed bottles on carts and located at the clubhouse and 10 tee, plus refill stations on 6 and 13 tees. Thanks to everyone that replace divots and use the bottles. Please help us educate the golfers that do not take care of their divots. It has been brought to our attention about non-construction related traffic on the construction site. Our contractor, Landscapes Unlimited, has a very strict policy about regulating this type of activity. Their obvious concern is for the safety of their staff and/or injuring someone that should not be out there. Plus, as grassing begins and cart paths are being installed, the possible damage that can occur can be significant to the course. If someone is looking for a tour of the site, I can arrange for that to happen on a Sunday or later in the evenings. Thank you for respecting this request. 5

July has come and gone, and it was filled with some great activities that were enjoyed by many! Some of the highlights from July included the 4th of July Best Ball, Derby Weekend, and the Ladies Summer Scramble! The 4th of July Best Ball was a great event with Perry and Lexi Piatz bringing home the victory in the gross division. We had a tie in the net division between DJ Rieger/Scott Sanders and Jim Johnson/Tyler Johnson. Great playing by everyone! Congratulations to Cliff and Bryce Mattson for winning The Derby! It was an exciting event all the way to the finish. The ladies enjoyed a nice evening at Oxbow for the Ladies’ Summer Scramble. Congratulations to Marie Talley, Carly Gaddie, and Tessa Simon for securing the victory! The Parent Child Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, August 16th. You can call and make your own tee time before 2:00 PM that day. There will be different divisions for different age groups. The format will be alternate shot and should be a ton of fun! Don’t miss out! We will finish out the month strong with the Oxbow Club Championship on August 29th & 30th. As always, stop in the Pro Shop to check out the new line of Oakley apparel and many other great items! Happy Golfing, Everyone!
