FEBRUARY CALENDAR
BINGO
MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING UPDATE
Aja Nyquist Interim GM & Director of Membership & Marketing aja@oxbowcc.comWow, how can it already be January! That holiday season really flew by. I want to first start off by saying thanks for all the nice comments and positive feedback regarding me being your interim GM. The search committee has already started the process of searching for your next GM and we will be sure to keep you in the loop on how that all unfolds
I wanted to touch on a couple things regarding the arcade as well as some upcoming events:
ARCADE
We know that kids (and adults) love the arcade, but in the past couple months the arcade area hasn't been getting any respect(popcorn everywhere on the floor and in machines, kids climbing in and under machines, game pieces shoved into games, etc.). I just want to remind you all that adult supervision is REQUIRED for kids under the age of 10 To make this easier we have made some adjustments to the layout to allow more seating options to watch your children. Starting now there will be NO FOOD or POPCORN allowed in the arcade area. If we have to tell your child/children more than once to get off machines, etc. they will be removed from the arcade for the evening and any subsequent infractions may result in suspension from the arcade. We want to continue to be able to offer you new and exciting games in the arcade each year with your membership, but also need your help in taking care of them.
OFFSEASON OPEN HOUSE
We want you to show off your club and what we offer in the offseason, so are going to do a membership preview night on Tuesday, Feb. 7th. We want you to invite any of your friends and/or family that is thinking about joining so they can see the simulators, the arcade and taste some of Chef's great food as we will have a free app buffet available. There will be no cost for your guests to attend the open house, other than any drink purchases they may make or if they want to order off of our Tuesday menu. We will have membership offers available for them as well (for social and for golf). We do ask that your RSVP to aja@oxbowcc.com if you will have friends coming out so that we can make sure we have enough food and staff on for that evening Stay tuned for more details on this as we get closer to February.
MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING UPDATE
CLEANING WEEK
The club will be closed for our deep cleaning from January 23rd-February 2nd. During this time we take the time to deep clean all the floors, fixtures, carpets, kitchen, etc as well as touch up all the paint and make repairs as needed. All aspects of the club (simulators, arcade, dining) will be closed during this time.
COMMUNICATION
Lastly I just want to touch on communication channels briefly! I know I mentioned this a couple months ago as well but there are several places you can find out what is going on at the club including Facebook, our newsletter, emails, website and mobile app. I wanted to point out that there are a couple places on the app that you can find upcoming events and announcements: First off you can go to the upcoming events tab. Second you can go to the newsfeed. In the newsfeed you will find any announcements that have been made as well as any emails that have been sent. If you haven't checked out the newsfeed yet please do! We also send out notifications on the app whenever there are any closures or delays so please if you haven't downloaded the app yet do so. If you need help signing in or setting it up please email me at aja@oxbowcc com
Thanks everyone and stay warm!

ACCOUNTANT'S AVENUE
Stacey Fett Controller accounting@oxbowcc.comBelow I have listed some of the most commonly asked questions about member accounts:
Is gratuity automatically added to my check?
The 18% gratuity on Food & Beverage is only automatically applied if you do not sign your slip. If you would like to leave a custom tip, please ask your server for your slip. This will also give you a chance to make sure you were charged correctly, especially if you are dining with a larger group. The automatic gratuity is not applied to credit card or cash payments
I just made a payment on my account, why is it not showing up on my app? Payments can be viewed on the app under the ‘Recent’ tab, which is found on the top lefthand corner after you click on ‘Current statement’. Statements are generated once a month, so any payments made after you receive your statement will only show on the recent tab. This is also a great way to check for any discrepancies in your charges throughout the month.
Can I set up autopay and if so, what date is the autopay ran?
We have two options for autopay – ACH or Credit Card. Please reach out to me for an authorization form to set this up. Please note, there is a 3% additional fee to process autopay with a credit card. I run the autopay on the 10th of the month unless it falls on a weekend or holiday, which will then be ran on the next business day.
Currently I am receiving my statement via mail. Is there an option to send it via email?
Yes, please provide me with your email address and I will get it set up to send via email. Email is the best option to receive your statement If you are currently signed up for emailed statements and are not receiving them, please let me know by emailing me at accounting@oxbowcc.com or calling me directly at 701-598-1112.
Cheers to a great 2023! Stacey

EF'S RNER
henbacher hef wcc.comHello, Oxbow! I hope everyone had a great holiday season! With the new year brings some new menu changes. Nothing dramatic, just a couple of gaps I want to fill and a couple of dogs I need to let go. One new item, well, kind of new is lobster corndogs. If you were around in 2016/17 you may remember these. I am really excited to bring them back! We will also be adding more sushi to the menu. The quality of fish that I have been seeing is truly amazing. Keep an eye out for all of that!
As everyone knows, staffing has been a real challenge I am currently looking for one or two more people in the kitchen to help fill some gaps. However, I can honestly say that in my 6+ years I have never had a better staff than I do right now. I recently promoted one of my staff to the Sous Chef position. Esparanza, has outperformed all previous Sous Chefs, and we are very lucky to have her. I am looking forward to the new year and everything we will be able to do!
This month we will be doing a pop-up restaurant. On January 17th we will be operating as the first Mexican restaurant in Oxbow! I will be working on that menu for the next couple of weeks. With that we will not have regular menu service that day We will be sure to remind everyone in the days proceeding
For this month’s recipe I want to share our chimichurri. I have had a lot of people ask me for it. I’ve been pretty tight lipped so far. I hope you enjoy it!
Ingredients:
1 cup red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 bunch parsley
1 bunch cilantro
Juice and zest of one lemon
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flake
2 cloves of garlic
2 jalapenos
Salt to taste
Procedure:
In a blender add all of your ingredients and hit the blend button That’s literally all you need to do This sauce pairs really well with grilled or seared meats. It really lends itself to fattier cuts of steak, like a ribeye. The vinegar helps to cut through the fat and it just all blends together very nicely.
GOLF SHOP UPDATE
Corey Herlickson Head Golf Professional corey@oxbowcc.comWelcome to 2023! With days getting longer we start getting closer to opening the golf course. Make sure you come out and get the rust off of your golf swing by using one of our three simulators. They have been a wise investment by the club because they are being used every day we are open even when the weather has not been great.
We have started to receive some new merchandise for the 2023 golf season. We have new fitting clubs in from Mizuno, Titleist, Ping and Taylormade. Several manufacturers will be launching their new drivers, fairway woods and hybrids in late January. We will make sure to let you know when we get the fitting clubs in.
Don’t forget about your vacation golf options you can take advantage of:
Invited Clubs – formerly ClubCorp Club Life www.invitedclubs.com
Thompson Golf Group www.thompsongolfgroup.com
OpenRounds www.openrounds.com
Stop in the golf shop for more information on these options.
NEWS FROM THE FAIRWAY
avid Wood perintendent vid@oxbowcc.com
The winter months allow us to evaluate our 2022 programs for staffing, cultural practices and agronomics. Changes in cultural programs on green maintenance is an evolving process: how often is topdress sand applied or vertical cutting to thin the turf density, aerification and mowing versus rolling the greens In an attempt to control costs in labor and equipment we reduced the amount of time spent mowing greens. Typical mowing schedule in the past was six days a week, this year we averaged 4 days a week. This is a reduction of 8 man-hours per week and less wear on the mowing equipment The second benefit, reduced wear on the equipment, is a significant aspect with the price increases and availability of mowers. Another benefit we observed was the general plant health increased, with less disease issues and better turf density. The amount of time spent rolling the greens did increase to maintain a quality surface, but the cost of replacing a roller is one third of a mower
We did attempt to reduce our time mowing fairways by applying growth regulators but did not see a benefit due to the costs of the regulators and their longevity. The use of regulators will be utilized during times of tournament play or scheduling issues, but not for cost savings for now. We will continue trying to keep expenses down and still improve the playing experience.
Please do not drive snowmobiles or atvs on the golf course. There are several reasons for this: snow will become packed down and turn to ice increasing the mortality of the grass, plus the potential damage to greens covers. If you see any activity on the golf course, please let us know. We will be hiring seasonal staff soon for the upcoming season, if you know of any recently retired or high school/college age people looking for full or part-time hours please have them contact us.
With an adequate snow cover this winter the City is in the process of grooming a cross country ski trail We will send out a map as to the route around the course when it will be open. Thank you to Taylor Cavanagh, Zach Schnitzler and Tony Cain for their time and equipment. See you on the course. David Wood
