Joel Livingood Happy New Year! Our first month of winter is behind us and golf season will be here before we know it. It has been great to see so many people out to dine in The Bend and NYE was a blast! We have some fun events coming up so make sure to check out the calendar at the end of this newsletter! We also included dates for some of our most popular summer events so you can really plan ahead.

Chef Torey has accepted a new position with Sysco Foods in Fargo. Torey has been a key member of our management team and helped bring our food and beverage operation to the next level, but this is the best decision for him and his family. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and thank him for his service to our club! His last day will be Saturday, January 11th, so come out this weekend to say good bye and enjoy one of his specials! Sous Chef James Kerr will serve as our interim executive chef until the position is filled.
2014 Expected to be a Big Year for Oxbow Country Club As I alluded to in my year end letter, 2014 is going to be a big year for our club and we are excited! Filling our director of membership/events and executive chef positions is a top priority. We are eager to share plans for our membership drive soon and outside event business has been strong. The design of the new golf course is progressing nicely. The team at Robert Trent Jones II. has begun more detailed design work and we look forward to seeing their updated designs. The appraisal process for the clubhouse has also begun. This is the first step before we can begin designing our new facility. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the current plans, please don’t hesitate to contact me anytime. Surveys, focus groups, and more town hall meetings will be a part of the process moving forward. Thank you for your continue support and patronage at your club! We are looking forward to another great year at Oxbow and hope you continue to enjoy the many benefits of your membership! See you at your club, Joel

Food & Beverage Manager Brittany Boeddeker Happy new year! It was great seeing everyone at our New Year’s Eve bash! January is a quiet month at the club, so take the opportunity to come out and enjoy an afternoon on one of our awesome sledding hills and then warm up with your favorite meal. Be sure to mark your calendar and make your reservations for our annual Valentine’s Day Dinner and the return of Deuces Wild dueling pianos! - Brittany
Gaelic Coffee Ingredients: 1 1/2oz Drambuie liqueur/whisky 1 teaspoon sugar Fresh, strong coffee Cream
Technique: Heat a stemmed wine glass with hot water and dry quickly. Add the Drambuie and stir in the sugar. Pour in the coffee, leaving an inch below the rim. Keep stirring until the sugar has dissolved and pour in the cream over the back of a teaspoon so that it floats on the surface to the depth of about half an inch. Enjoy!
Executive Chef Torey Ostlund I hope everyone is staying warm during these cold days. As I’m sure many of you have heard I am resigning from my position as executive chef to pursue other opportunities. I want to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation towards the membership for all of the support over the years that I have been here. I would not be where I am at in my career if it weren’t for the opportunity that Oxbow CC gave me. For that I am most grateful. I hope that you will welcome the next chef as you welcomed me. I also want to thank Joel and the Oxbow staff for the support and hard work that they put in. Once again, thank you and feel free to say hello if I see you out and about. -Chef Torey
