What a great May at Oxbow! We had terrific weather throughout most of the month, which led to lots of activity at the club. Last year we had 11 straight days of rain. This year, we were asking if rain was ever going to come.

Upcoming The summer at Oxbow is jam-packed with great ways for the family to enjoy the club! Junior Golf Camp starts next week and Oxbow Day Camp starts the second week of June. We still have openings for camp available, but spots are filling quickly - register today! This is a great way for your kids to enjoy membership, meet other Oxbow members their age, and have a great time at their club! Outside Golf Events Outside golf events take place many Mondays and Tuesdays throughout the summer. Please watch your Clubster App and email, as we will inform you about days/times that are not available for member play. You can also view the events calendar and tee sheet at oxbowcc.com to see when the course will be unavailable due to outside events. The Pro Shop staff would be happy to assist you as well. Membership Our membership drive has been extremely successful this year with a total of 46 new member families joining us so far! We are already ahead of last year, in which we had 31 new member families join. Please keep up the great work in referring new members to our club! New Clubhouse Work continues on the clubhouse, and it is over 50% completed as of May 20th. Trim and siding have begun on the south side of the building, and should be completed by the end of June. Inside, all of the sheetrock is up and more progress is being made every day. Last week, the pool area began to be excavated! We will keep updating you as to the progress. As a reminder, for safety reasons, we discourage members from walking around the clubhouse while work is taking place. If you would like a tour of the clubhouse, you can contact me directly. I am always happy to show members around. It will be another great month at Oxbow with new and fun ways for you to enjoy your club membership! I am excited by all we have to offer you this summer and hope everyone has the opportunity to take advantage of membership. Here’s to another great summer at Oxbow! Sedi 2

We welcome Eric Wenaas, our new PGA 1st Assistant Golf Pro! Born and raised in Carrington, ND and a 2002 graduate of NDSU, Eric Wenaas joined the Oxbow team in May of 2016. Eric began his career in 2000 at Rose Creek and Moorhead CC within the Fargo-Moorhead area. Since then, he has been involved with Desert Highlands in Scottdale, AZ, Glenmoor Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, CO and Colorado Golf Club in Parker, CO. Eric earned his membership with the PGA in 2011 and looks forward to bringing the Oxbow membership and their guests a first-class operation and service philosophy for years to come. In his free time, you may find Eric on his bike, snowboard, behind a drum kit or of course, golfing. 6
With the addition of our summer staff, we have begun more of our detailed maintenance practices. Walk mowing and rolling of the greens is being accomplished during the week. Sand bunkers are raked daily and fairways mowed every day. Trimming and detail mowing is also completed more frequently. We have a few new staff members this year, so there will be additional training on how tasks are completed this month. Come September, we are on schedule to start playing the new nine holes and current #1-6, and 18. To keep everyone playing an 18 hole course throughout the golf course construction project, we are in the process of constructing and growing in two temporary par 3’s. The first is located behind current #2 and the other hole will be between #5 and #6. Grow in of the new nine holes has intensified with Landscapes Unlimited bringing in additional staffing and equipment. The perimeter holes, (11, 12, 16, and 17) are being mowed and fertilized on a regular basis and are maturing on schedule. The interior holes (1, 9, 10, and 15) have just started to germinate and need additional time before mowing and/or maintenance can begin. We will keep you updated with all the changes to these new golf holes. With play increasing, we are beginning to notice more wear traffic from golf carts. The Green and Grounds Committee are asking all cart drivers to stay on the asphalt paths where they are available. Keep golf carts 50 feet from greens and please DO NOT drive on the range tees. The divot bottle refill stations are located by the water cooler chests on tees #8 and #13. This is your golf course; please help us with a few easy etiquette behaviors. See you on the course, David Wood
