FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER July is probably my favorite month at Oxbow. Our 4th of July celebration has become one of our largest events of the year.It is hard to believe five years ago we used to close the club at 5PM, as most members headed out to enjoy other activities. Now, at 5PM on the 4th, we are only partway through the festivities .Memory Fireworks will once again be back this year for our members to enjoy one of the best fireworks shows in the area. We will also have activities and inflatables at the pool, two golf events, live music, and much more! I hope you can join us! Derby is also one of my favorite events, and is full again this year. Remember, even for those who may not play in the Derby, Derby Couples is always a blast! In addition to these staples, we of course also will have live patio music throughout the month, Kids Camp starts up this month, and hopefully many beautiful days to enjoy golf, the pool, and outdoor time. In food and beverage, we have changed our member dining menu for summer. Chef and his team have put together great choices for you, with some traditional summer staples returning (tuna tostadas, cheese curds), as well as what will become new favorites, such as Birria tacos, smoked brisket, and more.I’m excited for all of you to try some of these new creations. In the spirit of summer, we will also be having a rotating salad of the week, for some variety in eating a bit healthier. Thank you to all that attended our meeting on June 20th. In what is probably a first, we lost power two minutes before the meeting was to begin, and never got it back. However, we had some great conversation, and were able to accomplish what we needed to .I would like to welcome the following new board members, who were elected at the meeting: Sandi Piatz Mitch Parker Tyler Nelson 4

MANAGER'S MESSAGE Sedi Halvorson General Manager sedi@oxbowcc.com

I would also like to thank outgoing board members Denise Johnson, Mary Johnson, and Craig Rise for their service to your club. All were active and engaged board members, and we appreciate their contributions to the group and to our membership! Thank you all for a great month of June, we hope you enjoyed your club often this past month! We still have so many great things coming your way this summer, we are only getting started! I hope to see you soon, at YOUR club . Sedi

MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING UPDATE Aja Nyquist Director of Membership & Marketing aja@oxbowcc.com

Happy Summer! It sure is nice to see the pool open, the golf course busy and the sunshine! We are expecting a busy summer and I am excited about seeing everyone out enjoying it all! Just a couple things I want to talk about as we get into July and August. Viva Las Ladies I want to give a huge thanks to everyone who donated and/or attended our first Viva Las Ladies Night Out. We ended up raising $15,000! This money will be used to purchase some outdoor cooking equipment this year and we will earmark the remaining to help finish off the back bar/pavilion area in the pool! Thanks again ladies for making the night a success! Rush Week We are going to be doing our membership blitz "Rush Week" again this year August 6-14th. If you have friends/family who are serious about membership we invite you to bring them out during this time for our 9 day membership preview. During this time they will have access to everything at the club and would only be responsible for food/beverage charges during this time. Please see the next page for more info and keep an eye on Facebook and your email as I will be sending out more info on getting your guests signed up for this. End of Summer Block Party We are introducing something new this year, our end of summer block party August 26-27. On Friday the 26th we will have a driving range concert featuring Tripwire and then Saturday we will have a pool party, backyard bbq and a foam party! More details to come but please put this in your calendars! Membership Referrals It's also a busy time of year for membership inquiries, so if you have anyone you would like me to reach out to please let me know! We were able to open up a couple social memberships and we still have golf memberships available as well. So please send any and all referrals my way! -Aja

CLUBHOUSE UPDATE Dan Toop Clubhouse Manager dan@oxbowcc.com

Hello everyone – my name is Dan Toop and I am very excited to join the Oxbow family. My first official day was May 16th and I am working hard to learn about our members and the club in general as we head into our busy season. A little about me – I am from Glenwood, MN originally, but have lived primarily in Fargo over the last 30 years or so with my wife Sandy. I have a son ( Adam ) and a little over a year ago a grandson ( Julian ) who keeps Grandpa Toop very busy! I graduated from UM – Morris in the fall of 1987 with a degree in business and economics and started my career in the hospitality industry almost immediately ( bartending and then managing at the Windbreak-Flying J). My hobbies include golf, spear fishing, and in my younger days – fastpitch softball! Some of you may be wondering ( due to the name ) – yes my uncle was Ken Toop. The team here at Oxbow has been very polite and professional and I can already see we have a strong, experienced, tight knit group and I look forward to working with and learning from everyone! -Dan

FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER UPDATE Logan Winters-Helmbrecht Food and Beverage Manager logan@oxbowcc.com

Hello everyone! Summer time is finally upon us, it’s the best time of year! I love seeing people out on the course, in the pool, and in the clubhouse, its great to see everyone again! Now that the season have changed, the club will be busy with all sorts of fun things to do, whether that be couples golf, music on the patio, wedding season, golf tournaments, or some fun days at the pool. Whatever you are looking for, we have you covered with a summer packed full of fun! Looking ahead at the summer season, some new things on the Food & Beverage side of things. I will be working on a new summer cocktail menu with some summery signatured drinks, as well as a mule menu, with all different flavors of vodka and mixers, so stay tuned for that. Some of you may have already tried some of the new canned beverages we have in the clubhouse and also on the course, but if you haven’t, make sure to ask your server or bartender and give them a try! They are great for sunny days on the patio and I have been told they may help your golf swing too! As we get into the summer season, you’ll be seeing new team members here at Oxbow, make sure to give them a warm Oxbow welcome! I am super excited about the team we have this year; we are all ready for a GREAT summer! I hope everyone has a great June, can’t wait to see all of you enjoying your club! Cheers! -Logan

POOL NEWS Derek Beers Head lifeguard Derek@oxbowcc.com

Hello everyone! Summer has arrived and the pool is open. We have a lot of new lifeguards this year, so feel free to stop in and say hello. I am really excited to see all of you guys again and hope for nice weather all summer long. Group lessons were done in June and now we will move to private lessons. If you have any questions about swim lessons feel free to ask me by emailing me at derek@oxbowcc.com. We have a good amount of new faces here at the club and I would like to go over and remind everyone to please check in yourself and any guests you bring to the pool inside the pool house. A reminder that any local guests (50 miles) are only allowed out ONE TIME per calendar month. Also if you are going to be bringing in a larger group of guests (8+) please reach out to Theresa so we can get an event order put together so we can ensure we have adequate staffing and resources for your group. Pool rules have not changed since last year so if you have any questions about pool rules feel free to ask any of the lifeguards. This year we will be doing adult swims on Fridays from 8 to 10 in the evenings and we would love to see you guys out there. Thanks, Derek

ACCOUNTANT'S AVENUE Stacey Fett Controller accounting@oxbowcc.com

We love summer here at Oxbow as the pool is open and the golf course is busy. With that comes a lot of billing questions so check out some of our FAQ's below. How do I see my most recent charges? To keep an eye on your account, you can go to the app and click on current statement. This will take you to your account. On the top left, there is a ‘recent’ tab, this will show you all of your recent charges. If there are any discrepancies, please let me know and we can get it fixed. If you do not have the app or do not know how to run it, please let me know, I can look up your recent spending or can help you get acquainted with the app. I made a payment, why hasn't my statement balance in the app changed? Statements are only processed once a month (around the 5th of the month). So the statement balance you see when you check your account on the app, will not change for the month even after you have made a payment. However you can go to your recent charges (see question above) to see that your payment has been processed. How can I pay my bill? There are several payment options. Our preferred method is autopay, please contact me for an ACH or Credit Card authorization form. Please note, there is a 3% fee to use your credit card. Auto-pay is completed on the 10th of the month. If the 10th falls on a weekend, I will process auto-pay on the next business day. You can also make payments on the app/website, send a check to the club, or you can drop off payment in my mailbox, which can be found in the first room down the administration office hallway. Am I able to get an itemized copy of my charges each time I dine at the restaurant? Yes, you can get a copy of your check each time you come in and eat. This is a great way for you to make sure you are getting charged correctly for everything you ordered (especially if you are splitting apps/dinner with friends). Just ask your server and they will be happy to help you with this.

-Stacey

CHEF'S CORNER Scott Motschenbacher Executive Chef chef@oxbowcc.com

Hello Oxbow! Summer is finally here. There are birds singing in the trees and kids screaming in the pool. I am putting the final touches on the summer menu. We should be rolling it out very shortly! You may have noticed a new ice cream machine in the building. We are waiting on one last piece to install. We will have our very own Freal ice cream machine! If you thought you enjoyed ice cream before, just wait!! I’d like to take a little time to talk about our catering/cake side. Obviously in the summer we are doing a much higher volume in food sales. Because of this it makes it rather difficult to fulfill last minute orders. We will do whatever we can to make things work. However, I ask that everyone orders at least one week in advance. This helps with scheduling and ordering product. Breakfast service… I am well aware that we are not yet serving breakfast on Saturdays. I am working on fixing that. I hired someone who I thought was going to be perfect for that roll. He unfortunately came down with some serious health problems and is no longer with us. I am trying to get a new person trained on breakfast. I do want to extend the breakfast hours to 12pm as well. There are a few regular morning golfers that usually do not make it in before 11am. I want to make sure they have an opportunity to still get some eggs. I appreciate everyone’s patience on this. I want to share our mac n cheese recipe this month. This is one that has been requested by a lot of people.

MAC & CHEESE Ingredients:

1 cup chicken stock

3 tablespoons butter

1 quart heavy cream

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 cloves garlic minced

8 slices American cheese

1tsp onion powder

½ cup gorgonzola

1 tablespoon crushed pepper flake

½ cup shredded parmesan

Procedure: In a large stock pot add your butter, olive oil, garlic, onion powder, and pepper flake. Put the heat on a mediumhigh. Start to bloom your garlic then add the chicken stock. Reduce the liquid by half and add your cream. Bring the cream up to a slight simmer. Do not I repeat DO NOT bring to a boil. Now add all of your cheeses and stir with a whisk. You will want to drop your heat down to a medium at this point. Keep stirring until the cheese is fully incorporated and does not stick to your whisk. Just add noodles and a spoon! Enjoy!

GOLF SHOP UPDATE Corey Herlickson Head Golf Professional corey@oxbowcc.com

With the coming of June begins the start of the busy time at Oxbow CC. We want to make you aware of any tournaments we have during the month so you can plan accordingly. They are as follows: July 16: Derby July 25- Tharaldson Ethanol July 27- Ladies Best Ball Once a month in the summer we offer discounted guest fees. The normal accompanied guest rate is $100.00. The reduced rate is $60.00. We offer the discounted rate to help generate more guest rounds. The dates we have set for 2022 are June 20th, July 18th and August 8th. Please take advantage of this excellent discount! We have seen steady growth with junior golf. So much so, we have had to added two additional clinic days. Both filled up almost immediately. We also have seen a lot of growth with our female members. We had over 30 women attend our Golf 101 seminar. This is triple what the largest amount we have ever had attend. The first week of Ladies Night saw 20 women show up for the lesson and more than 30 play! This is awesome news for our club because the two areas that were almost untapped was juniors and women. -Corey

NEWS FROM THE FAIRWAY David Wood Superintendent david@oxbowcc.com

With play increasing we need your help to keep Oxbow looking good: Please double -up on golf carts, a foursome should only have two carts. Golf cart traffic wear is one of our largest concerns around tees and greens for wear. Replace divots on tees and fairways when the divot stays intact. Divots will heal in 7-10 days if replaced. A divot filled with sand and bluegrass seed takes 10-14 days to germinate and 60+ days to complete maturity. On days when we have had rain, please observe the signage in the Pro Shop and by the putting green regarding cart usage on fairways. This is easy to forget at times, but if there is water coming off the tires of your cart you should practice the 90-degree rule. Keep carts out of the fescue native areas. The native grasses are beginning seed out and driving in these areas will lay the plants over. Rake bunkers. Leave the rakes evenly spaced around the bunker with the handle in the grass and the rake head in the sand. Repair ball marks. See you on the course. David Wood

Proper rake placement around sand bunkers.

YOUTH ACTIVITIES UPDATE Alee Searles Youth Activities Coordinator Hello! It’s officially summer here at Oxbow and I am beyond excited to get back into the groove again and hang out with the kids! We have a lot of fun activities and crafts going on in the pool house this summer amongst so many other things. Based off of the survey results we got from our members we have adjusted our times that we will be doing STEM and crafts in the pool house to fit the needs of all of our members and their families. This summer we will be doing crafts Monday and Wednesday and STEM activities Tuesday and Thursdays but instead of offering them at two times throughout the day we will be doing a set time from 2pm-6pm. We are hoping that this will allow us to hit more of our members throughout the day. We will be keeping the theme weeks as well. You can find the pamphlet for the summer with all of the activities and theme weeks in the pool house. We also have calendars hanging up in the pool house on a bulletin board where you can find lots of useful information. We took a Facebook poll on our page asking about availability on Friday’s and it looks like the majority of our members will only be here one or two Friday’s a month so with that being said, we will be having Bingo at the pool one or two Friday’s a month at 3pm and the rest of them will be coloring contest days also at 3pm. Make sure if you are not already doing so, follow our Facebook group Oxbow Jr. Youth Programming! This will give you a chance to see what we have been up to and give you all of the updates on what’s going on with the youth programming from day to day. We will be posting in there almost every day! Looking at July here is what’s coming up: Disney Magic: June 27 – July 1 Red, White & Blue: July 4-8 Mad Scientist: July 11-15 Incredible Superheros: July 18-22 All About Dinosaurs: July 25-29
