As we turn the calendar to the month of March, I can’t help but think that we opened for golf this month last year! My hope is that when I write my April newsletter update, I can say that we opened in March for the second straight year. In the meantime, thank you to everyone who came out and spent time with us in February at the club. In March, we have more great activities for everyone to enjoy! Annual Meeting Our annual meeting will be Thursday, March 24th this year. The annual meeting is open to all members of Oxbow. We will be discussing 2015, as well as all the activity that will be happening in 2016. Between transitioning to the new nine holes and moving to our new clubhouse, 2016 will be a year to remember at Oxbow. Also, two great directors on our board will have their terms expire. Tami Henke and Chris Holland have both served on the board of directors for six years, and have been instrumental in getting us to where we are at today. I can’t thank them enough for the time and energy they have put in to helping this club grow. With that said, we will have two open seats on the board. If you are interested in becoming a board member or would like to nominate another member, please contact me directly to discuss. Again, this meeting is open to all members, not just certificate holders. I hope all of you can attend! Membership We are very excited to have six new members that joined our Oxbow family in February! As membership season gets into full-swing, please note that our membership categories and rates are available on our website, oxbowcc.com, under the membership tab. Our goal is to make our membership information easily accessible for both our members and prospective new members. We are offering great referral incentives again this year for any current member that refers a new member to us. More information will come throughout the next month. Finally, as we continue to prepare for another great season at Oxbow, I want to thank all of our standing committees for everything they do for their club. Oxbow Country Club currently has seven committees made up of volunteer members. Committees include our finance committee, social committee, house committee, greens and grounds committee, golf committee, women’s golf committee, membership committee, and more. Some of these committees meet monthly; some only a few times a year. The insight and feedback we get is extremely valuable and lets us see the club through our member’s eyes. If you have a passion for your club and want to help make it the best it can be, we would love to have you on one of our committees. Please contact me for more information. I hope to see you soon at YOUR club! Sedi 2
Have you moved recently? Changed jobs? Welcomed a new member into the family? This month, I’d like to remind you that you can login at oxbowcc.com at anytime to update your account. Keeping your account information as accurate as possible helps Oxbow staff improve your member experience. I’d like to encourage you to upload a current family photo to your member account as well. As the season approaches, this will assist new staff in getting to know the membership faster and easier. I know that many of you are already making plans for the summer and your schedules are starting to fill. Make sure to take note of our golf schedule, as well as junior programs, found on pages 6 & 7 of this newsletter. 2016 is going to be another exciting season and you don’t want to miss out on what we have in store!

INGREDIENTS The snow is melting and the grass is starting to show--good signs for spring. The culinary staff and I are looking forward to getting the golf season started. This month’s recipe is a nice addition to many spring dishes. It goes well with fish and chicken, or on some toast points or crackers. It’s light and refreshing with just enough sweetness. Hope you enjoy!
Mark your calendars! On St. Patrick’s Day, we are putting on our first Whiskey Dinner! It will consist of four courses and each course will be matched with a different Irish whiskey drink. A representative from Republics National Distributing will be in attendance to share information about the whiskey you will be trying: where it comes from, how it is distilled, how long it’s aged, what it is made out of, etc. Check out the flyer on page 9 and come join us for great food, good company, and a few adult beverages!

OXBOW Pot O’ Gold FRIDAY EVENINGS, we draw a member's name at random. If that member is dining at the restaurant, they win the Pot O' Gold Food & Beverage Credit! If that member is NOT present, the Pot O' Gold increases by $50. Come out on Friday evenings for your chance to win big!
As the snow melts off the course, everyone’s first question is, “How does the grass look?” Looking back to the fall of 2015, the growing conditions were dry with above normal temperatures. There were several rain events that rehydrated the soil and the turf went into dormancy without excessive snow cover. December and January provided adequate snow to insulate the weaker turf varieties from the potential for low temperature damage or crown dehydration. All of these favorable conditions appear to have us positioned for a good spring. We will be taking turf samples out of various areas on the course and monitoring how they look as we get closer to opening the golf course. We will be removing snow fences around the greens so not to accumulate additional snow on the greens, and pumping water out of low areas to prevent any negative issues until the drain lines thaw. The earliest we have opened the course is March 22nd in 2012. I anticipate an early course opening, but cannot guarantee we open earlier than that date.
March is here and we are getting closer and closer to the golf season! We have been busy putting together the golf calendar and have a club tournament guide for you to check out!
