General Manager / COO Joel Livingood January and February were record months at your club. Food and beverage revenue both months was the highest in club history. Off season banquet business and strong member a la carte dining were the largest contributing factors to the increase. As we roll into March there is a lot of activity happening behind the scenes. Seasonal hiring is in full swing, training programs are being updated and improved, new club management software is being implemented, and the golf course design is nearing completion. New Director of Member Engagement & Events Alison Molony I am happy to introduce our new Director of Member Engagement and Events, Alison Molony. Alison will bring a lot of energy, creativity, and event planning experience to our team. You can read more about her in her section of the newsletter. New Club Management Software We are very excited about the new club management software recently approved by the board of directors. The new software, provided by Northstar Technologies, will provide a fully integrated system from the website to front of house POS to our back of house accounting and membership management applications. This will allow us to be much more efficient. It will also greatly improve the services available to our membership, including: Online statement viewing and bill pay Online tee times Online event registration In addition it will streamline our email communication and allow us to update our website quickly and easily so our membership always has the most up to date information on events, hours of operation, and more. We are in the process of gathering and converting information in preparation for our go live date of April 14th. It is important to send your updated personal information and family photo to Greta (greta@oxbowcc.com) so you can have access to these new features right away. Ring Levee Project: Golf Course and Clubhouse Design The Oxbow ring levee project is progressing nicely. The grading plan for south (new) golf holes was recently completed and refinements to tees, bunkers, and the northern holes to be renovated are well underway. Bruce Chartlton, President of Robert Trent Jones II., will be meeting with the greens committee in the next couple weeks to review the design as it approaches completion. He will also be presenting at the annual meeting on March 27th. Construction on the new golf holes is set to begin this spring/ summer.
Conceptual design of the new clubhouse will begin once we are closer to reaching an agreement with the Diversion Authority on the buyout price of our current property. We are awaiting the final copy of our appraisal and working with clubhouse architect John Sirny, of Partners and Sirny Architects, to determine our replacement cost and cost to cure. Our membership will be very involved in the design process. We are working with John and seeking input from other clubs who have recently completed major projects on how to best do this. A design committee, surveys, focus groups, and town hall meetings will all be a part of the plan.

Food & Beverage Manager Brittany Boeddeker We are another month closer to green grass and warm weather! Applications for our summer staff positions have started flowing in and I look forward to training in a new crew of servers. We are putting the finishing touches on our summer menu and are taking a look at the beer and wine lists. Let me know if you have any suggestions for additions! See you soon, - Brittany
Executive Chef James Kerr It’s starting to stay lighter out longer and its starting to warm up, which only means one thing…. It’s that time of year that we start to transition from winter to summer! We’ve got a great new summer menu for you this year. Many of the old favorites are back as well as some new items. It’s looking to be a very busy summer and we can’t wait to get started. - Chef James
Director of Member Engagement and Events Alison Molony Greetings Oxbow Country Club Members! I’m thrilled to start my new position as your Director of Member Engagement and Events! Originally from Southwestern Minnesota, I attended Gustavus Adolphus College and after that, lived in the Twin Cities area for five years. While living in the Twin Cities, I worked for Valleyfair Amusement Park, where I specialized in event planning, sales, and entertainment management. Two years ago, my husband’s job brought us to Fargo. I have very much enjoyed getting to know the Fargo-Moorhead area. Since moving here, I have worked for the Ramada Plaza & Suites as their event specialist and wedding salesperson. On a personal note, I have become a home owner as well! My unique background makes this position and the Oxbow Country Club a wonderful fit for me! I can’t wait to get to know everyone, coordinate the weddings and special events, and create new ways to make your club membership an exciting and valuable experience. I’m also looking forward to finally learning how to swing a set of golf clubs--much to my husband’s delight! Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and cairn terrier, singing with bands, and pretending that I am as talented as the decorators on HGTV. If you ever have a fun idea for an activity / event, please let me know! I’m here to ensure that your membership at Oxbow creates memories that last a lifetime. -Alison
River Ale Once called Riviere des Chutes by French Trappers the Deschutes River feeds our beers and souls alike. Here’s one that’s clean and refreshing enough for the long haul, but fully graced with hop aroma, malt heft, and clear craft passion. Sit back, relax, and let the subtle pleasures reveal.
Fortune is a golden lager brewed in part with Cascade hops to give it a citrusy bite and caramel malt to impart an amber hue. The flavor is moderately bitter with hints of sweetness, resting somewhere between a craft beer and a light lager.
“Snap! You just captured an unfiltered wheat beer full of refreshment and a flash of tart at the finish. Smile-inducing aromas of citrus hops jump from the nose, accompanied by the sweetness of coriander and grains of paradise. Brewed with wheat and pale malt, Snapshot pours a hazy, lemonyellow with bright-white lacing. But the real enticement is the snap of tart. New Belgium’s affinity for sour beers led to the in-process blending of lactobacillus to pucker up Snapshot’s base. An extra step to acidify and beautify and get this beer ready for its close up. “
Mark your calendars for the

Superintendent David Wood The Green and Grounds Committee will be meeting with Bruce Charlton, from Robert Trent Jones Jr., this month to review the full grade plan and a golf course characteristic plan. The grade plan shows the elevations of all the greens, tees and fairways as well as drainage patterns. This plan also allows for the calculation of the soil needed to be moved. The characteristic plan shows more details as to the finished look to better understand the grassing and vegetative characteristics of the new layout. As always we will keep you updated as new information about the course becomes available. Starting this month Ben Arvidson will be filling the Assistant Superintendent’s position. Ben is originally from Howard Lake, Minnesota and has previous golf experience at Olympic Hills Golf Club and Edina Country Club. I am excited have Ben join our staff and confident that he will be a great asset to our organization. This winter has been difficult for everyone, but we will soon have the temperatures rising and the snow melting. With the minimal snow fall I am confident that this spring will be uneventful. David Wood
