Aladdin Jr

Please sit back and join us as we take a magical carpet ride.

- Denise Putman, Director

One of the main themes in “Aladdin Jr” is discovering one’s true potential. This is also one of the goals of the Chanticleer Children’s Theater. Many of our cast members come to us with no experience on stage and we strive to give each of them the opportunity to discover their true potential and to shine whether they are in a leading role or a member of the very important Ourensemble.hopeis

The story on which “Aladdin Jr” is based, “Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp”, has its origins in “One Thousand and One Nights”, a collection of ancient Arabian folk tales compiled around 1710.

that all of the students feel they are a member of the ”Aladdin” family and have made many lifelong friendships as they learned about and participated in the wonderful world of theater.

Director's Notes

A huge thanks to my Chanticleer staff. Beth, Bob, Jason, Jerry, Julie, and Tracy. I could not have done it without you. Your support over the last many weeks was greatly appreciated.

To all the parents who made the commitment to get their children to rehearsals prepared and ready to work the entire staff thanks you.

To Adam, Eric, Jacy, Lex, Stephanie, Rachel, and Zack from PACE thank you for your assistance.

“Aladdin” has served as the basis for stage plays, musicals, ballets, and over two dozen movies including the earliest one in 1926.

To the wonderful young people who make up the cast of “Aladdin Jr” I am so proud of all of you. You brought such life to this wonderful story with your hard work, commitment, love for the arts, and most of all your love for each other. Now I want you to go out and show our audiences that the potential you all came with seven weeks ago has become a reality.
