Hello Hawks! It’s surprising how fast the year goes! I hope you are up and ready for a new year of with your new governor Ricky Aguilar! I want to thank you everyone for dealing with me and my constant reminders. It’s been a hard year but by going through yours and my suggestions, the year will continue to grow! Fleece Blankets for the Homeless/ Needy Description: Set a day or during a meeting, and make nosew fleece blankets to give them to those in needs!

Description: Leave donation jar’s at a store’s cash register and let the money grow! Every week or two check up on the jar

What you need: • jars (make sure it’s sealed TIGHT) • ELIMINATE Info Label (Provided by me, just ask!) • Store’s Permission

Instructions: 1. Make the jars! Make it eye catching and don’t forget the informative label on what it is. (I have the label) 2. Pick possible places and assign to a Key Club member. He/She will be responsible checking the jar biweekly/weekly and pick it up. 3. Contact the owner or manager of the store. Introduce who you are, briefly inform them about the project and what is ELIMINATE and ask if they would be willing to participate. 4. If so, ask how long would like the jar be there, and inform them WHO will pick it up and check on it. It is best if you write it on paper so they don’t forget. 5. Once it’s done, send them a thank you card! If that store isn’t doing so well on donations, then take the jar and try somewhere else!

Fortune Cookie - Grams Description: Make, sell and deliver fortune cookies with a message written by the customer and candy to send to the seniors on their last week of school or those who are testing (anyone)!

Things Needed • School permission • Little Candy • Felt cut into 4.5 in diameter circles • Strips of paper • Craft Glue • (optional) Ribbon • Pipe cleaners/floral wire HOW TO MAKE IT *THERE’S A VIDEO ON HOW TO MAKE IT ON YOUTUBE*

Step 1Put a piece of ribbon slightly shorter than 4 1/2 inches. Using wire cutters, cut a piece of floral wire slightly shorter than the length of ribbon.

Step 2 Using craft glue, place the wire to the center of the felt circle. Glue ribbon on top, covering the wire. Let dry 30 minutes.

Step 3 Fold the felt circle in half, so ribbon is inside cookie. Next, angle the sides toward each other, bending the wire at its halfway point and forming a fortune-cookie shape, as shown.

Step 4 Carefully peel back one flap of the felt cookie, and insert a paper fortune and a 2-3 candies. Fold the flap back over to close cookie around contents.

Selling Fortunes 1. Pick a set day and advertise! Such as flyers on the lunch tables? (Be sure to pick them up) Pick a time/period in the school day your members will deliver them.

2. CUSTOMERS PREORDER Make 3 fortunes for display and have the paper strips ready. Customers fill out a the paper strip message and form containing at least this information: • From • To • Class/RM # in Period __

**You might need access to student’s schedule if they do not know the RM #. Just ask your teacher or the office!
