Revive LITE
NEW! PRODUCTS
TM
Want something lighter for your hair?
Revive LITE™ features ALL of the great conditioning properties of our ever popular “original” Revive, just in a lighter, more refined approach. This formula doesn’t weigh the hair down. Great for any time of year, but especially valuable during warmer months when hair coats become thinner. You will love how light if feels in the hair with a rich, unbeatable deep shine. The extra light cosmetic grade oils contained in Revive LITE do not glob or allow the hair to stick together. This actually creates added lift to the hair with more hair separation. When applied, this new formula lightly coats and easily penetrates the hair and absorbs into the skin without clogging the pores. Why does this matter? Most products can only coat the outer surface of the hair to add temporary shine. Revive LITE, however, with its lighter molecular structure, can actually penetrate deep into the cortex of the hair strand to infuse essential nutrients and lipids for the utmost moisturizing and hydrating properties. Another benefit, it has tremendous staying power. Since most other hair treatments just coat the outside of hair, they rinse off easily while washing. But not Revive LITE. It has penetrated inside the hair, less likely to rinse away. By absorbing easily into the skin for outstanding nourishment, Revive LITE does not sit heavy on the skin heating up your animal. Revive LITE is also fortified with Sullivan’s advanced VITA HAIR Nourishing Vitamin Package to infuse the hair with proven hair vitamins for natural moisturizing to create soft, manageable and stronger hair coats. A new science breakthrough for fresh, healthy, hydrated skin and hair.

Fresh & Feminine
TM
“The secret to eye appealing show cattle!”
Feminine shape and freshness throughout the front end of your show animal spells ultimate success or failure in the show ring today. Fresh & Feminine™ is not just another supplement. Tried and true for many years, Fresh & Feminine™ has been the secret, fed at Sullivan Farms for over ten years. It has been an integral part of their feeding regiment and credited with producing outstanding freshness and ultimate show ring success of their cattle at major shows year-in and year-out. This is how this feed supplement works ... the superior science of Fresh & Feminine features a combination of strategic vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants and a high concentration of by-pass protein sources. This chemistry boosts metabolic fat burning in the body that targets specific areas of the body to reduce fat content, most notably in the neck and brisket area. The are a more feminine, attractive physique and the animal even moves better. This helps to offset the results seen from aggressive, high energy show cattle diets. All natural and fertility safe for open heifers, bred heifers, steers and bulls. Simply top dress 6 oz. per head per day of this pelleted supplement on your current ration until desired freshness has been achieved.
“The simple science to freshen up a front end while maintaining the body capacity desired. We have had tremendous success with Fresh & Feminine™ for over 10 years. Now available to the public for the first time. You will noticeably see the results.” - John Sullivan

from the
editor It's official – Summer is here! County fairs, Junior Nationals and State Fair …. Here you come! You may have a break from school, but summer is still busy. Sunup to sundown – you stay busy working on your projects and preparing to attend a show. Great expectations are in your heart and mind. All that goal setting and planning when you first got your animal – the time is almost here to realize your dream.
P.O. Box 41430 • San Jose, CA 95160 (408) 776-7611 • Fax (408) 776-9811 Publisher & Managing Editor: Heidi Beljean — (408) 888-2503 Email: pacshow@earthlink.net
You are mentally going over your lists … did I do this, did I do that, did I forget something? Or maybe your list is all checked off and you are ready to go! Packed and loaded – plan for smooth travels and keeping your animals cool and comfortable. Do you need to drive early in the morning or in the evening to avoid the heat? Will you need to stop and water along the way? Don’t forget this important part of the planning – it can make the difference in how your animal arrives at its’ destination.
Production Manager & Art Director: William Crump — (662) 257-1998 Email: pacificshowcase@gmail.com Representatives: Katina Costerisan (661) 330-6392 (CO) Email: kcosterisan@gmail.com Mike Rusher (503) 888-1823 (OR) Tiffany Carter (530) 409-5143
We all know how much time, work, and dedication go into raising a livestock project, but when you get to the fair the public does not realize all that goes into getting that animal there for them to see. There is a lot more to it than setting up your display and walking around the show ring. While your friends have spent time at the beach or movies, or were sitting in the house playing video games or on the computer, you have been taking care of that animal you love.
Pacific Showcase limits its liability resulting from any and all errors, misprints and/or other inaccuracies in the advertisements and editorial content. The opinions or views expressed in all editorials are those only of the writer or persons interviewed and not the Pacific Showcase.
Being at the fair is a great time to interact with the public and explain in detail how you take care of your projects. Let them know what you do and how important it is. Junior exhibitors are really junior ambassadors of the livestock industry. You have the opportunity to share the word and promote agriculture, and to present 4-H and FFA programs and the fair experiences in a positive light. I guarantee that if you take time to visit with the public that stops at your stalls, you will reach one more person who will have a better understanding and a new respect for what we do.
Reproductions or other use of this magazine in whole or part of the contents without written permission of the editor is prohibited. Pacific Showcase welcomes readers contributions. Articles of interest, show results, sale results, and calendar dates are welcome and will be printed on space available. To have articles or pictures returned, include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Send all submissions to address above. Pacific Showcase is published bimonthly. It is mailed first class and third class bulk mail at Morgan Hill, California. Postmaster: send address changes to Pacific Showcase, P.O. Box 41430, San Jose, CA 95160. Subscriptions: (Bulk mail - one year - $25; two years - $45.) (First class one year - $35; two years $65.) For processing of new subscriptions - please allow 4 to 6 weeks. For address corrections, send current mailing label along with new address to Pacific Showcase.
So…now that you are at your fair and will be showing that animal you worked on all year and applying all those new skills you have learned, there is one more important topic to bring up: Sportsmanship. Every other exhibitor in the barn has also worked hard and has dreams and goals they hope to achieve. Take a few moments to recognize others' accomplishments – no matter how you do or how they end up, be a good sport and say congrats or good job! A few words of praise are rewarded with smiles and a feel-good tug in your heart. In the end, awards will be forgotten but good feelings will always be remembered.
Time to Plan Ahead! The September/October Issue is our
#2 Western State Fairs and Club Calf Issue
I don’t want to keep you too long on my column as there is a lot for you to read in the following pages, so I will just end with a few quick reminders. important
CJLA News AND UPDATES! As this issue goes to print, Summer is officially here! Many of you have been showing your projects during the spring and are now gearing up for your County Fair or heading to Sacramento for the State Fair. The many opportunities CJLA offers for livestock youth to show their animals throughout the year are awesome! It is definitely a great way to get your animals used to travelling to new locations, being in a show environment, and getting that show ring experience. It is also a GREAT learning tool for the exhibitor – trial runs in preparation for that final fair date, a chance to practice, practice, practice, those fitting and showing techniques, gain confidence in the show ring, observing other exhibitors to see how they are doing things, and then packing all that knowledge into your databank of skills!
ing with the shows to get their reports to us in the format CJLA now requires. There is a lot more that goes into the Points system than you would think and it does take an incredible amount of time to do the whole process. Your patience is much appreciated and we will email points to all members and post on the CJLA website as soon as we can. In addition, we are working on some ideas and ways to make the process faster for next year. Early member registration and ways for sanctioned shows to get their results to us faster will be key factors in being able to tabulate and post points in a timelier manner. More on this in future issues…. We have an UPDATE for the Northern Exposure Jackpot Show on Nov. 7-9. They have secured a NEW LOCATION for their show that will better accommodate the event. It will be held at Yuba Sutter Fairgrounds in Yuba City.
I hope everyone takes the time at each show you attend to THANK those dedicated show staff who put on that event for YOU! It is important that we all support these youth shows with thanks, and help, and donations, so they can continue into the future and are there for those will love this activity in the years to come.
WE have been sending emails and letters to our 2013 members who did not get their awards picked up at the Banquet in February. If you did not get your items yet, we will deliver to Surf n turf in August or Cow Palace in November. Call Heidi or email us at cjlainfo@yahoo.com to make arrangements. We will only bring items that have been requested prior to those shows. OR you can send $5.00 to help with postage and we will ship to you.
In the May/June issue, all CJLA members were listed so you could check your membership. We are still working on the first update of points so don’t have a printout for this issue. As explained in last issue, we have a new person taking over the points. In between a full time job, getting her point tabulation system set up, and learning the tabulation process, it is going a little slower than in the past. I have also spent more time work-
Any questions, comment, suggestions, or to just visit – send us an email or give us a call. Have a great summer!

How do the VITA HAIR™ Nourishing Vitamins work? Biotin vitamin is the first vitamin thought of when considering HAIR GROWTH. The major benefit of Biotin is its ability to strengthen both the hair follicle and the hair shaft, where the hair is produced, which prevents hair breakage and dryness. This is a scientifically proven crucial step in the natural hair growing process. One of the chief things that slows hair growth is damaged hair. Biotin enriched hair has increased elasticity of the cortex which prevents breakage. This enables healthy, FASTER HAIR GROWTH. Biotin also thickens the actual hair cuticle providing a fuller appearance. Pro-Vitamin B-5 is considered the king of all HAIR CARE vitamins. Pro-Vitamin B-5 stimulates healthy scalp circulation which leads to improved hair health. It coats the hair and seals its surface, lubricating the hair shaft making the hair shine. It possesses superior long term moisturizing properties because of its unique ability to penetrate and nourish the hair shaft. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that stimulates circulation to the skin and supports capillary growth. The skin needs to have proper circulation in order to keep the hair follicles alive and thriving. When there are more capillaries, the circulation improves leading to increased nutrient absorption into the hair follicles, which speeds hair growth.
