SMART SENSATION the
by Sullivan’s
The Smart Sensation is like no other. The advantage of the SMART SENSATION is how it amplifies the volume of the hair as it lifts it up from the hide without causing curls, kinks or matting that is often associated with rice root or massage brushes. You can actually see the Smart Sensation brush create hair separation off the skin allowing air to flow deep into the hair base for added hair stimulation. Healthy for hide and hair, the SMART SENSATION gently massages the hide to stimulate blood flow that releases natural oils from the skin to coat the hair and promote healthy hair growth. The Smart Sensation is available in two different sizes. Regular size with seven rows of teeth, and the XL with 10 rows of teeth. Cattle love the feel of the stimulating SMART SENSATION!

from the
editor Bring on the “Fall Fun”! As Summer comes to a close, we can look forward to this season we call “Fall.” School has started, which means new classrooms, new teachers, maybe a new campus, reconnecting with old friends, and making new ones. We see evidence of Fall celebrations in all the stores. Wreaths and decorations of brown and red and gold, scarecrows and Halloween candy and costumes are already filling the shelves.

The best thing about Fall is the change of weather. For us out West, Fall heralds the start of rainy season. Unfortunately, rain has been in short supply the past few years but we are staying positive and praying for good moisture. Bring on the rain!

And don’t forget about school sports and other activities, homework and social schedules. How are you going to fit your livestock projects, meetings, committee work or competitions into all the other things you are involved in? Everyone is so busy and has so much to do, it’s tough to get it all done. The best way to meet these challenges is to plan and prepare. As a family, work together to figure out what will work best for everyone! Planning reduces stress and makes it easier to accomplish those goals!

At this time of year, I always like to touch base on starting your new livestock projects. It is important to set goals, develop a budget, and prepare for your purchase by contacting breeders, talking to your leaders or advisors, and getting your facility set up. Livestock projects are a big responsibility. Planning will ensure your success!

The California Junior Livestock Association is already planning for 2015! In this issue you will find a 2015 membership application. You can also visit the CJLA website (www.cjlainfo.com) to join online. As CJLA looks forward to next year, we have a huge task underway to complete this year! The Annual Award Banquet is just months away and we need sponsors and support to realize our goals for this event. There are many ways to show your support of this great organization. Please contact me and we can talk further! We will have sponsor forms and information on the CJLA website soon and will be mailing out information as well. The CJLA is completing its 15th year! We need to keep the ball rolling!

This has been mentioned to me: Show results – we publish those results and photos that are sent to us. Some shows have photographers and some don’t. I know some of you have called and wanted to send your photos in but we prefer to get them from the show photographer and get everyone’s photos. Sometimes the photographer does not get all the photos, so I can only publish what is sent to me. If your show does not send in the show results, you can send your kids' photos to our “Fair Time” Highlight section that we run in the Nov/Dec issue. Check out the ad for it in this magazine! This way your junior can get the recognition they deserve!
Subscriptions: (Bulk mail - one year - $25; two years - $45.) (First class one year - $35; two years $65.) For processing of new subscriptions - please allow 4 to 6 weeks. For address corrections, send current mailing label along with new address to Pacific Showcase.

We are featuring a new section in the Nov/Dec issue! For those of you who love to show livestock AND love do some kind of craft or hobby – we will have a place for Critters & Crafts! Read more information in the ad in this issue on what you need to send in.

As always, if you move please send us a change of address so you don’t miss an issue. about the
cover On behalf of Rodgers Livestock, I would like to congratulate and thank everyone who has had a part in one of the greatest years we have experienced since the beginning of our program. We feel strongly that the success of our cattle is a direct correlation to the homes that they receive and can’t thank our customers enough for the job that they do. November 8th will bring the second Rodgers Livestock and Associates Steer Sale, with approximately 50 head of steers and market heifers representing the programs of Rodgers Livestock, Wheeler Cattle, Porter Cattle and several other customers’ consignments. Last year’s sale hung many banners with not only a dominant representation throughout the jackpot season but, more importantly, a very successful summer of market shows at both the county and state fair level with several left to show this fall. We have high expectations for this years crop and feel it may be the deepest offering yet. In 2008 we formed the Triple Threat Sale with the Geist and Colburn families and enjoyed not only the opportunity to bring one of the first female sales to the west coast but to work with two programs that we respect and call great friends. As time passed and our operation grew a very difficult decision was made to change the way we sold our females to better help market the cattle of our customers, just like we had done the previous year in our steer sale. After great deliberation November 29th will host the first edition of The RL Collection Female Sale, an opportunity to offer not only great females from our program but consign-
ments representing our genetics from valued customers. Our goal is to create a program for those who choose to participate, to purchase show heifers and breeding stock and utilize both our steer and female sale to market their progeny. We are very excited about the opportunity these sales represent to Generate Greatness and would love to visit with you and answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your interest!
