Prebiotics, Probiotcs & B12 all in one ... this super charge formula is the first of it’s kind. Sullivan’s
Show Road Appetite Express + Prebiotics, Probiotics & B12 all in one ... this super charged formula is the first of it’s kind. This remarkable formula will keep your animal on the right track through stressful transportation and showing. Appetite Express + helps bring an aggressive appetite and energy boost to the animal. Administer 10 to 15cc per day orally one to two days prior to travel to maximize the beneficial microbial flora within the animal. Continue to administer orally at the show to keep your animals gut in good health. This super charged formula of Prebiotics, Probiotics and B12 will restore the balance to your animal in any stressful situation.
• Prebiotics are non-digestible dietary fibers that deliver nutrition to microorganisms. • Probiotics contain live naturally occurring beneficial microorganisms that replenish the good bacteria colonies in the rumen of an animal. • B12 boosts energy levels, which helps fight fatigue and sluggishness. Vitamin A has multiple functions: it is important for growth, development and maintenance of the immune system.

NEW Products Sullivan’s
™
Patent Pending
The brush for thinner haired cattle. Introducing Sullivan’s SENSATION CURVE, this NEW twist to our popular SMART SENSATION delivers even more stimulation to the skin and adds body to the hair coat, making it a hair growth must have. With the SENSATION CURVE’S 302 precisely placed ball point teeth, no hair will be left clinging to the hide. Best for dull, lifeless hair that still needs volume due to lack of base coat. Not only does the SENSATION CURVE contain 134% more teeth than the SMART SENSATION, but the teeth are also narrower and more flexible to allow hair and skin to be stimulated with an even gentler massage. The SENSATION CURVE’s design also has a more rounded curvature to the brush, which encourages more fluid rhythm to the hair working process while the Sullivan’s NEW texturized grip enhances the users comfort. Like the SMART SENSATION, the SENSATION CURVE is healthy for hide and hair. By providing a gentle massage to the hide it stimulates blood flow that releases natural oils from the skin to coat the hair and promote healthy hair growth. This brush will be the perfect addition to your daily hair growing tools.
delivering even more stimulation to the hide.

FROM THE
EDITOR
Recently I have had several opportunities to attend some youth livestock shows. As I have walked around the ring, watched many classes of kids, animals and judges, and then visited with parents, helpers, and observers, that proverbial light went off in my head! The comment I most often heard was how lucky we were to have these shows available for our kids to be a part of. We hear daily about shootings, and gangs, and so many bad things happening. It makes me stop and wonder what is going on in those people’s lives that they feel they must resort to violence. I know we need to find positives and assurances in our lives that this is not the only way things will be. So it has been with a renewed vision of hope that I watch the activities at shows inside and outside the ring.

I see kids who have worked hard to be where they are. They are learning the skills and mindset it takes to be self-motivated to achieve their goals. I see parents and family who support their kids, who spend time with them at home and at the shows, who are proud of their children for their effort and hard work. Most of all I see the positive reinforcement that is given to these kids so they want to do their best.

We who are a part of the agriculture community are truly blessed to watch our young people be motivated to stay on the “right path” and to believe it is the “right thing to do” to be a “good person.” Sportsmanship, hard work, friendships, goals, family time, values, a handshake, a promise – all words that describe a person on that right path to be successful throughout their life. These young people are the future of agriculture, the future of community, and the future of our country.

As summer gets into full swing, many of you are showing and selling at your county fair those animals that you have raised for the past year. Be sure to let your breeder know how you did. Send them a picture, and talk to them about your plans for the upcoming year. If you are new to showing, or maybe showing a different specie than you have in the past, then look through our magazine at ads and in the Breeders Directory List. Make your contacts, and plan where you are going to start your search. Breeders are always willing to talk to you, answer your questions, and give you some insights that will help you in your selection. It also seems like it is getting harder to find those animals you want if you wait too long to start looking. Many breeders find they are sold out early, and then when the late-comers call, animals are not available. Don’t let that happen to you! Make those calls and contacts. Educate yourself on what you want and where you need to go. Planning equals success! Or what is that saying we see everywhere? “If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail!”

Articles of interest, show results, sale results, and calendar dates are welcome and will be printed on space available. To have articles or pictures returned, include a stamped, selfaddressed envelope. Send all submissions to address above. Pacific Showcase is published bimonthly. It is mailed first class and third class bulk mail at Morgan Hill, California. Postmaster: send address changes to Pacific Showcase, P.O. Box 41430, San Jose, CA 95160.
In this issue be sure to read through the “Graduates Section.” I want to congratulate each and every one who is listed – and all those out there who have finished a part of their education and are headed toward their next phase in life. Stay the course, work hard, and you will achieve your dreams!
Subscriptions: (Bulk mail - one year - $25; two years - $45.) (First class - one year - $35; two years $65.) For processing of new subscriptions - please allow 4 to 6 weeks. For address corrections, send current mailing label along with new address to Pacific Showcase.
Each section is brimming with information and great articles – so dig in and enjoy yourself as you flip through the pages ahead! We get calls about photos in the show results section. We try to contact many of the fairs and the photographers but sometimes it is difficult for us to get pictures sent for insertion in the magazine. If you are at a fair or show, take a moment and ask their photographer or fair management to send us the pictures. That will help us a bunch and we can highlight not only the show, but the photographers work as well. In the November/December issue we have a section called “County Fair Highlights.” You can send a picture of you and your animal at your fair along with what award you won and we will put it in that section. For more information, check out the ad in this issue!
Time to Plan Ahead! The September/October Issue is our

Call Heidi at 408-888-2503 or William at 662-305-5434 to find out how!

The Lambown organizers would like to encourage you to participate in our celebration in any way possible. If you could help Mr. Lloyd McCabe in the staging of “Club Lamb”, participate as an exhibitor, promote the event out into the Northern California community or even join Superior Farms, Pacific Showcase Magazine, Dignity Health, Sams/Walmart, Ply Magazine and others in providing a sponsorship to help defray the cost of hosting this event, the committee would be most appreciative. For more information on “Club Lamb” at Lambtown, please contact Gary Erwin at gerwin@moscone.com or go to www.lambtown.org.

JULY/AUGUST 2015
CJLA NEWS & UPDATES! Summer is here! That means the year is half over already! I’m not sure where the days have gone to, but I know it has been crazy busy! And for most of you who are reading this section, you have spent the past months hitting the show trail and competing at CJLA shows. From all reports, entries have been strong and we have heard good things from show personnel and exhibitors alike. We are glad that so many are enjoying the opportunity to exhibit their animals and compete with other youth.
will automatically deduct your account annually for CJLA membership fees. Surprise! We still have a few 2014 awards left in the office that need to be delivered to those recipients. If you have received an email regarding your award, we are asking for a small $5.00 donation to help with postage. If you didn’t get your t-shirt packet at the banquet, we can send those out too. Just send the shipping fee to CJLA PO Box 41430 San Jose, CA 95160 - and we will get your items sent right to you. Put a note in with who it is for and your mailing address. We can deliver items to State Fair, but need to know well in advance so we can get them ready to go. Call Heidi at 408-888-2503 if you are interested in state fair delivery! Those of you showing in the Heifer Division – Have you joined the California Junior Heifer Association for your breed yet? (This relates to the Angus, Hereford, Shorthorn, Charolais, Maine Anjou, and Limousin divisions). As an incentive to join those associations, we are giving BONUS POINTS that count in your division (not for overall points). You had until May 31st to join and earn 15 bonus points, but you still have until the end of the year to join and earn 10 bonus points. It’s a very small dues fee to pay and not only support that association of the breed you have chosen to exhibit but to also earn extra points to add to your division total. I don’t know about you – but I would sure hate to place lower in the year-end standings because the person above me had those bonus points and I didn’t! More information on this is on the CJLA website along with the contact names for each association. If you have questions, CONTACT US!
I know you are all looking for the point updates. In this issue, you will find the results through May 25th. The only shows not yet included are CSU Circle of Champions Jackpot, Sutter Buttes Jackpot, and the Southwest Hereford Fieldday. We did have a few bumps after the first report due to several members not being included. This was due to our PayPal process. The way it has currently been set up, a person paid online through the CJLA website by PayPal but a membership application was not generated at that time. Once we got the PayPal receipt, we would then have to contact that person by email to get the member information. Then sometimes we wouldn’t get that information returned or we would receive an application for a membership paid by a PayPal invoice with a different person as the payee so we couldn’t match an application to a receipt! Needless to say, we have had more confusion than normal with this process! To those affected, we apologize! We think we have everything straightened out now but we encourage you to look through the points and make sure your information is correct! ANY QUESTIONS, CONTACT US! So… the good news is that Heidi is working with someone to get our PayPal set up the way it needs to be so a membership application is filled out first and then paid for. This will also work for donations or sponsorships. We are sure that this will help the entire process run smoothly AND much more efficiently! And we will have it set up very soon – we will keep you posted!
Watch for emails from CJLA and check the CJLA website for updates! We will be working on show dates for next year soon and will be sending information to members by the end of summer. As I said, The Year Is Going By FAST! Grab a little sun, work on those animals, have a little fun! And we will see you down the road soon! CJLA Questions? Emails can be sent to cjlainfo@yahoo.com or through the CJLA website: www.cjlainfo.com
One more thing about our current PayPal. If you used it to join this year (or in past years), I recommend you go back into PayPal through the CJLA website and remove the “automatic renewal” feature on your account. Many people are inadvertently activating this feature and it
