Am I taking the right classes? Complete the proper number of “A-G” courses with a grade of “C” or better. If you want to receive a scholarship, a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 for UC schools and 2.0 for CSU schools is required. Complete the ACT with Writing or SAT Reasoning Test. Private schools have their own admission requirements.
Why do my grades matter? The UC admission Index and the CSU Eligibility Index combine your GPA and your exam scores. With a high GPA, your total exam scores can be lower; a lower GPA requires higher exam scores.
How do I create a 4 year plan? Use your “My Path to College” to track your high school experience. Start a “High School Documents Folder” to save copies of important papers (report cards, transcripts, awards, certificates, letters of recommendation, resume and anything else that may be useful).
Is it okay to rethink my plan? Yes! Make sure to take at least the minimum number of courses to be eligible for UC/CSU schools & revise your plan each year.
