Objectives The Poetry Foundation of Cincinnati is a community based facility and open to the public and in particular to the city core population. This project required considerate thought within the site when designing a building for a particular urban context of Cincinnati OTR district. The experiential qualities, sequential experiences, and the movement through space was the focus of this project. Preserving the existing condition of the space and designing a buidling around the existing building was the first task. The existing building was in the middle of the new buiding to be used as a circulation hallway that consist of both elevator and staircases.

Manual Drawing - AutoCAD

Objectives The given task was to rearrange the existing configuration of the RX Bar office. Located in Chicago, Harken Interiors was in charge of the original office design and were requested to make some minimal changes as the office grew and needed more desks. I was in charge of creating the whole drawing set within a tight deadline. The main challenge was to edit all six floor plans with reflected ceiling plan incorporated into it. This was a great opportunity for me to learn how to be more technical in AutoCAD.

Manual Drawing - AutoCAD + Photoshop

Objectives Vi at the Glen is an on-going senior living/hospitality project from before I started working with Harken Interiors. From editing floor plans, drawing detailed elevations, rendering elevations, creating tagged furniture plans, editing reflected ceiling plans, to participating in client meetings, visiting a site for measurements, and writing specifications, the majority of my time during at Harken Interiors was spent on this project.

Manual Drawing - Photoshop + Illustrator + AutoCAD + Rhinoceros

Objective Based on regional environment in Cincinnati, this project was to create an office space for a political campaign. The site used was the American Sign museum in Cincinnati, Ohio and the given space was a warehouse in the site. The focus of this project was to establish a grassroots advocacy environment which is people oriented and opened. The challenge was to develop the flexibility of a work place arrangement within a whimsical environment to create a friendly concept for the overall space.

Objectives The goal of this project was to create an Islamic screen inspired by an exisiting pattern. After developing it to my pattern, it was screened on top of a structure created in Rhinoceros. The site and the shape of structure was open to the individual’s choice.

Objective Combining my interests in furniture design and architecture, this project was to break the frame and creates a house or bulding composed completely of chairs. The complex building contains restaurants, cafes, and other stores. The overall focus was on the elevations and exterior of the structure by approaching it in a new way that was completely focused on the integration of a repeating element that is used in our day to day lives.

Manual Drawing - AutoCAD + Rhinoceros + Vray + Photoshop + Illustrator

Objective Borrowing a site from The Oculus Mall within World Trade Center in New York City, the goal was to experiment the spatial potentials from a desired culture.  Inspired by Japanese traditional symbols, I created a pattern to use as a device to build spatial organizations and crafting multifunctional systems. To convey meaningful messages of this culture, the concept of the project was to focus on flawless circulation based around the meaning of the symbols used.

Manual Guggenheime Model - Styrofoam + Acrylic paint Bridge Model - Styrofoam + Threads

Objective Guggenheime - This was an exercise of reconstructing a building that already exists and exploring different design processes. Taking major elements from The Guggenheime Museum, the new reconstructed structure was a study to investigate different design possibilites from manipulation. Bridge - Inspired by the amount of bridges in my home country, this project invovled both a material and color study to design a new shape for a bridge incorporating different shades of threads and gradients it creates.

Objective First impressions are very important for furthering relationships with others in any circumstance. Usually the first impression is based on facial expressions. Visually representing ones emotions without spoken word, the empahsis of these illustrations is on the mouth, which is the most dominant facial feature.
