HEART MATTERS ‘‘New Year…Old Patterns?”

It’s a new year! Gone with the old and in with the new, welcome to 2023 kingdomites! I am sure many of you have already made the new year’s resolutions, done your vision board party and are tackling those new goals with passion and zeal in anticipation of what this year 2023 may bring. It’s always fun starting anything new, and we always have expectations of grandeur and change, but we can easily fall into the rut of old patterns quick if we don’t check those heart meters and patterns.

For many of us with each new year, we start off strong but by the time we get to the middle of the year we fall into the cycle of old patterns and that zeal we had at the beginning soon fades into familiar territories of dread, regret and failure.

But this year doesn’t have to be like the others; we can intentionally step into this year and conquer like the bosses we are.

Here are some simple ways to break cycles and patterns to truly have a ‘NEW’ year experience.

Be Intentional

every change begins with intention. It’s not enough to want change but you must work towards it. Be deliberate this year with some decisions, circles, habits, investments etc.

Ensure that every little thing is working together for your overall success and well being. It is the little things after all that has the greatest impact in the end.

This may mean discomfort, tough conversations and cutting ties with familiar places and people to ensure that you are the best version of yourself that you can be.

It’s not a time to compromise but to aim and knock out each life target. You got this!

BE SELF-AWARE

Pay attention this year. What is your body saying? Maybe you need a change in diet to have more energy and longevity.

What is your mind saying? Maybe you need to start your day off with some affirmations and self talks. What is your heart saying?

Maybe you need some intervention, counselling, help to release and remove whatever hurts your heart.

This year take no prisoners, not even yourself. Life will happen, but you must know what makes you tick, what you respond to and what to ignore.

Be aware of how your mind, body, heart works and spend the time, money, effort to ensure you’re ok for real for real.

BE PATIENT - WITH YOURSELF!

God gives you 365 days for a reason, slow down if you need to, rest when you need to, decompress and chill; be patient with yourself and don’t compare yourself with others and what they are doing.

You are in your own lane, in your own race!

Run with grace.

I hope these tools will help you on your journey this year! It doesn’t have to be same ole, same ole, the cycle can break, and the pattern can change for your good.
