THE MOMENTS OF
Motherhood
In the day-to-day of motherhood, it’s all too easy to fall into the mindset that the true delight of parenting lies only in the big moments of our lives. We awake every morning, perhaps after not getting much sleep at all - the baby having woken every hour for a feed. The toilet-training toddler may have wet the bed, requiring a 3am bed change - but still, we fall out of bed as the alarm sounds and trudge our way forward into our day. It can seem monotonous. Especially when stuck smack bang in the middle of those early, sleep-deprived years. If you feel like you’re barely keeping your head above water, it can be hard to see the joy in moments. The joy that comes from the very existence of the little souls that call you mum. Of course we are all thankful for the blessing of motherhood. But there are days we all know too well, when sometimes, for a second, you reminisce of an easier time, before someone relied on you for absolutely everything. It’s a heavy weight to bear and modern society does not make the challenge of parenthood any easier. As mums, we can be our own biggest enemies - putting the most pressure

on ourselves to be perfect in every aspect of our lives.
The biggest challenge undoubtedly of modern motherhood is meeting the demands of society and our own expectations. Whether you choose to stay home, or you choose to return to work, the one thing you can be certain of is that someone will have an opinion that your choice is the wrong one. But in the eyes of our children, we are perfection from the very beginning. It is what we do along the way that may swing the pendulum one way or another. As working mums, we chide ourselves for going to work and putting the kids in day care. If we choose to stay at home, others judge us for being ‘lazy’ or ‘bludging’ or we somehow feel our children aren’t getting the experiences they deserve through early childhood education. There is no right or wrong. No handbook that comes with motherhood. We all make it up as we go along, fumbling our way through. If we’re lucky, we may have a network of family and friends to rely on for advice and support, perhaps an awesome mum of our own to look up to. Others are not so lucky and do the hard yards alone.
There is nothing that can prepare you for how all-encompassing motherhood is. Sure, when we are expecting our first child, we all have a vague idea that this new little person will rely on us for their care and wellbeing, but until you hold that baby in your arms, there’s no way of knowing just how finite that responsibility feels. There’s no ‘off-duty’, no downtime, no holidays. It is the toughest job in the world but we all do it gladly. The way we live our lives in this modern world means we are constantly on public display - through social media and technology - whether we mean to or not, we immerse ourselves in our smart phones and it is a constant battle to remind ourselves to be present in the here and now. Any grandparent or parent of a teenager will tell you how quickly children grow - in the blink of an eye but during those early sleepless nights, nappy changes and sick toddlers, it may feel like it will go on forever. It is all too easy to become wrapped up in goals for the future, plans for a better life than the one you are living now but for our children, all they care about is the ‘now’. Whether you

WILLS AND ESTATE
It’s something that no mum or dad wants to consider but ultimately part of being a parent is considering - and planning for - what could happen to your family in the event of your death. Estate planning is the process by which an individual or family arranges for the transfer of assets after death. If you have young children, you may have considered who you would like to take care of them in the event you and your spouse (or partner) die before they reach adulthood. This is known as guardianship and can be detailed as part of a Will. A Will is a legal document that states, amongst other things, how the deceased person's belongings are to be distributed after their death. The Executor of the Will is responsible for distributing the person's assets to the people named in the Will. This happens after any debts are paid. If the person has not left a Will, the estate is shared under a formula set by law. With family structures now more complex than ever, the need to ensure your affairs are in good order and reflect your changing family and asset situation is crucial. Higher divorce rates, blended families and de-facto relationships increase the number of potential claimants and create scope for conflict. Whenever a death occurs it is a trying and emotional time. Courts are increasingly dealing with disputes that individuals may never have expected - after all, we all cross our fingers and hope the ‘It won’t happen to me’ rule will apply. However, the volatile mix of family, emotion and money can affect even the closest of families in the event of an unexpected death. Guardianship Appointing a guardian in your Will may assist to avoid disputes among
family members as your intentions will be made clear, however it is worth keeping in mind that it is not binding and the Family Court still has overriding powers to appoint or remove a guardian should it be in the best interest of the child. It is therefore worthwhile taking the time to discuss your intentions with family and friends when naming a guardian in your Will and considering vital factors regarding your nomination such as : • Is the person in question prepared to accept the long-term responsibility of becoming your child or children’s legal guardian? • Are they of a similar age to you? • Do they understand your views on how you wish your child/children to be raised? • How will you provide financially in your Will for the welfare, education and advancement of your child/ children and who will manage these finances in the best interests of your child/children? • Would your children have to be relocated or would they be able to stay in the family home?
should be someone who you trust and are confident can handle the role. Estate planning is an area of law that appears simple but is not, even for people with modest assets. For those with complex estates, there is an increased risk of things going awry. Assets that are not held personally or are not dealt with by one's Will - particularly trusts, superannuation, insurance and joint holdings - will require special consideration to ensure they are distributed as intended. While the most basic of Estate Plans will consider your dependents in the event of your death, a comprehensive plan would also include current lifestyle requirements, retirement plans, business arrangements, your tax position and even take into account any possible future events such as divorce, health scares or family disputes as well as ensuring assets go exactly where you wish them to go.
The executor or administrator is responsible for administering the deceased estate pursuant to legal requirements and in accordance with the deceased's wishes. Beneficiaries are those people who share in the estate and are usually named in the will – if no Will exists, they are usually the deceased person's next of kin.
Planning your estate Will offer peace of mind that your loved ones will be taken care of in the event of your death. As parents we would never dream of leaving our children’s futures in the hands of family members without having a say, however that may be what many of us are inadvertently doing by not thinking about our Estates.
The executor effectively steps into the shoes of the deceased person and winds up their personal affairs so it

STAY ENGAGED Most parents are aware that one of the things which is consistently supported in research is that parent involvement in the education of their children can lead to significant improvement in their results. Unfortunately many parents feel inadequate, unprepared, and even a bit fearful of getting involved. This is possibly because parents think that involvement means being able to help their children with their homework when they might not know the ‘way things are being taught these days’, or because they are worried they might not be able to help. For some it is because they think that being involved means helping out at school and they just don't have the time to do it. Perhaps we should change the language we are using. It is not parent involvement that makes the big difference, it is parent engagement that impacts student results.
Well, you might be interested to know that when the research says that parent engagement in their child's education leads to improved results it is not specifically referring to help with homework, or time spent helping at school. It is referring to the ways parents can show children they are interested in their school activities and that they value that part of their children's lives. Reading with your children, asking them about what they learnt at school, getting them to explain something from one of their school activities, talking about real world applications of something they have learnt and looking through the work they are doing and asking questions about it are some simple ways parents can be engaged in their children's learning. At a deeper level, when we talk about parents who are engaged in their children's education we mean
parents who see the responsibility for education as a shared responsibility -a responsibility that is shared by the parents and the school. When schools and parents work together children do better and stay in education longer. Unfortunately, as children get older some parents disengage from their children's school experience. Often this is because they can't be involved at school or helping with homework etc. When parents understand that it is engagement that makes the difference they will realise they can still make a big contribution. Start when they are young. Build a family habit of asking about the day. Don't settle for one word answers. Have conversations about their learning. Ask the classroom teacher for some help with understanding the goals of the learning taking place. For your children’s sake, stay engaged.

Lloyd's Northside Clinic pakmag
LLOYD'S NORTHSIDE CLINIC Australia has one of the highest incidences of food allergies in the Western World, with a recent Australian study suggesting anywhere up to 10% of one year olds are exhibiting symptoms of food allergy.
Lloyds Northside Clinic have, for the first time in Mackay, established a permanent resident medical allergy service run by local doctors. Spearheaded by Dr Marius Botha who has been a GP in Mackay for more than four years who realised Mackay had a need for a specialised allergy service, he has put together a team to provide a comprehensive service for patients in the area. With the clinic developed to be a one-stop shop to investigate and manage allergic diseases, Dr Botha is a member of the Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy and keeps up to date with the latest evidence based diagnostic and management guidelines for allergic disease. Up to one in four Australians suffer from Allergic Rhinitis (Hay Fever) and one in 10 have Asthma. Allergies not only prevent sufferers from going about their lives freely, they can also cause a lot of financial strain. Eczema, while seen as a minor disorder, can cause major suffering and poses significant social, emotional and financial challenges for families with up to 20% of infants and young children currently thought to be suffering from eczema in Australia. This is a three-fold increase over the last forty years.
In addition to the allergy department, Lloyds Northside Clinic also offers: • Full General Practice and Family Medical Centre • Free childhood vaccinations • Men and Women’s health check-ups • Minor surgery • Travel medicals and advice • Coalboard, Aviation and Diving medicals • Walk-in drug and alcohol testing • Sports Medicine and Weight Loss Clinic The Sports Medicine Clinic offers expert diagnosis and a revolution in back pain management known as Dorsa Vi EMG back and lower limb screening. Many people with back
pain may have normal MRI and CT scans or have mild ‘degeneration’ and are left with no real diagnosis or pain management plan. They manage their back pain with high strength painkillers and restrictions on activities, perhaps even having to leave their jobs. But now Dorsa Vi can accurately diagnose the cause of back pain which is missed in regular MRI and CT scans. With this extensive range of services and a team of accomplished doctors, experienced, friendly nurses and reception staff, Lloyds Northside Clinic will provide your family with a quality, caring service. NIGHT TERRORS
Health
Story Dr Claire Stewart Night terrors, which affect one in 20 young children, are absolutely horrible for parents to watch but kids don’t normally remember them and it is something they will usually outgrow. Night terrors normally occur in the first few hours of sleep at night when your child is in the deepest part of sleep. It often starts with a loud scream and they look very scared with fast breathing and a fast heart rate. Some kids may throw their arms and legs around in bed while others get up and run around as though being chased. Upsettingly, although their eyes may be open, during a night terror your child will not recognise you and they
SCALPEL FREE VASECTOMY COMES TO MACKAY Mackay now leads the field in vasectomy services. Innovative new techniques allow vasectomy to be easier, less painful with faster recovery and less side effects. Amazingly, it can now also be done without a scalpel or stitches. The Mackay Scalpel Free Vasectomy Clinic brings the best surgical techniques from the UK and is now available for the first time in Mackay. Previously, people have had to travel as far as Melbourne to have this procedure. Dr Raj Selvarajan is a UK qualified surgeon and specialist GP and has successfully performed over 2000 of these operations who established three clinics in the UK. For families who are sure that they do not want any further children, scalpel free vasectomy is the easiest and fastest procedure that prevents the need for mothers to keep taking the pill or other forms of contraception. Therefore you reduce your monthly prescription costs, risks of side effects and avoid the possibility of a surprise
pregnancy if the pill is missed or doesn’t work – and this does happen! Okay, so how is it done? Of course it is not magic. Through a single small split in the skin, a section of the tubes are removed and the ends sealed without any use of scalpel. The minimal trauma means little or no swelling or bruising and more importantly, little or no discomfort and faster recovery to ensure you can resume normal activities quicker than you imagined! A check-up specimen to guarantee effectiveness is done a few months later and it is important to use alternative contraception until that negative specimen is obtained. This is so much easier than the traditional process and is being taken up around the world. The Mackay Scalpel Free Vasectomy Clinics are located at Rural View and Walkerston and despite using advanced techniques, the costs are the same as the traditional method, so call Mr Snip on 4954 8979 to book your appointment. Medical Guru, Dr John McIntosh GP Superclinic.
cannot be comforted. The whole episode usually lasts between five and 10 minutes. If your child is having a night terror, do your very best to stay calm and don’t try to touch them or wake them unless they are in danger of hurting themselves as this tends to make things worse. Although they look absolutely terrified during the episode, night terrors are mostly upsetting for parents as your child won’t remember it in the morning. Night terrors occur in normal healthy children and are not a sign of any psychological or developmental problems. They can however be more frequent if your child is unwell with a fever, is very worried about something or is overtired. Having a regular bedtime and a good sleep routine can also help.
NORTH QUEENSLANDERS CALLED TO ACTION New research shows only 59 per cent of North Queensland adults are getting enough daily exercise, and only 38 per cent are aware of all three minimum recommended guidelines for physical activity. The Cancer Council has warned North Queenslanders could be risking their health and happiness, increasing the risk of disease and obesity. CCQ spokesperson Katie Clift said the findings were alarming. “Physical inactivity is one of the leading causes of overweight, obesity and chronic disease,” Ms Clift said. “It’s vital to be mobile and moving, to get the heart rate up, build physical fitness, and maintain a healthy weight." “The good news is that everyone can spare the time – 30 minutes of daily exercise can easily be achieved through three shorter sessions of 10 minutes during the day.” Around 2.1 million Queensland adults were insufficiently active in 2014, with those aged 18-24 years the worst offenders.

WHAT MUMS NEED For first time mums, or those welcoming a new addition and returning to the newborn stage after several years out of the ‘baby years’, the sheer amount of products available for babies and newborns can be overwhelming. Many new parents can feel it is difficult to strike a balance between feeling prepared with everything they may need or totally overdoing it and buying every baby product ever invented! After all, how many of us actually want to hide those gorgeous teeny baby feet with shoes before it’s absolutely necessary? It is important to remember there are some things that you absolutely will need, but others that can wait until baby is here and you know you will need them. A prime example is breastfeeding suppliers or a breast pump - while the majority of women want and plan to breastfeed, in some cases it may not always be possible and that expensive breast pump may sit in the cupboard unused. Vice versa, if you purchase bottles and sterlising supplies your baby may take to breastfeeding like a champ and you may find you do not need them for some time. Most experienced mums will tell you about all the things they were told they HAD to buy or couldn’t resist buying but in fact newborns don’t NEED a great deal. Clothing in particular is a grey area for most new mums. When first discovering you are expecting the urge to run out and buy a number of adorable outfits for baby is tempting, however many experienced mums will tell you how many of those gorgeous outfits ended up packed away due to bub growing out of them all to fast or not having the chance to wear them at all. To help separate what are the ‘needs’ from the ‘wants’, with the help of retailer Baby Bunting we’ve come up with a list of items that Parents-to-be
can take with them when shopping for the new arrival. Daddy Diary TRAVELLING WITH TODDLERS Firstly let me say, my kids are pretty good at travelling. There’s my boy, happily chatting away and asking a thousand questions about everything and my daughter being a quiet toddler, some noises, partial words and a bit of sleeping. We’ve only conducted a few long trips with the kids (Rocky), and they’re generally pretty good because we’re usually down on a Friday afternoon and back on Sunday afternoon. Just recently we had a very quick trip, leaving Saturday morning, heading to Rocky for a few hours, then to Gladstone that afternoon. Back in the car 10:30 Sunday morning to Rocky and home eventually at 7pm Sunday. I was buggered when I got home and our baby girl played up a tiny bit on the way back – which was totally understandable after the rough start! The weekend didn’t start well. Our plan was to be up at 5am, get the kids in the car and hit the road by 6am in the hope they’d drop back to sleep once in the car. But... I mucked
up setting my alarm and we didn’t hit the road until after 7am! After a quick stop off at Maccas for breakfast so we could keep moving on down the road, around Carmilla we came unstuck, when my daughter had a huge chuck! She has this terrible habit of stuffing so much food in her mouth and then having a choke. A quick pull off to the side of the road to make sure she didn’t have a real “choke”. We clean off the chair with what little we had, changed her clothes and hit the road. But it wasn’t over. Thirty minutes down the road – power spew! Sorry to do this to you readers, but if you have had little kids you know what I’m talking about. it was massive! It hit the back of my chair and the glove box in the centre console. Off to the side of the road again. Beach towels had to be sacrificed and we wished we’d brought more wet wipes. Change of clothes number two for Charli. Even better she’d filled her nappy and that wasn’t pretty either. It was a very quick pull over because we were worried about her, so while one cleaned out her chair (me), the other was on duty with
“car coming”, which meant shut the door and get out of the way. It was gross, and we weren’t even at Clairview yet… much of the trip still lay ahead. Fortunately we were staying with good friends who had a young baby and they were understanding that we wished to throw something into their machine that was “a little yucky”. As parents we learned a few lessons from this car trip. Firstly, bring twice as many wipes as we think we need to. Lesson number two: have the suitcase easily accessible, so in case a change of clothes are needed, they’re really easy to get at. Thirdly, bring several litres of water for cleaning up - 600ml and two bath towels just didn’t do the trick! Lastly… pack an industrial strength steam cleaner in the car and a front load washing machine as well, plus plenty of lemon fresh fabric softener to get the horrid smell out! My little Charli is probably just like your kids… just a few minutes after having a power spew, it was all smiles, happy talking and on we went to enjoy the beautiful and very interesting car trip that is Marlborough to Rockhampton.

There’s no doubt about it - when looking to sell your home it is imperative that it looks the best it possibly can!
cabinetry and cutting edge furniture, likewise traditional or antique furniture would not sit comfortably in a modern, architecturally-designed home.
As a result of a competitive market, the industry of real estate and property styling is booming. In what may be partly due to the onslaught of renovation and interior design television shows gracing our screens, property owners are starting to realise that ensuring a home looks the best it possibly can prior to putting it on the market will not only assist with a timely sale, it could also increase the final sale price substantially.
Put yourself in the buyer's shoes and find a starting point. Chances are, whatever first drew you to the house will be a selling point for buyers now. Work to make the most of this feature and follow our handy styling tips to prepare for a successful sale.
Hiring a professional to cast their eye over and style a home may be well out of reach for the majority of us, but the good news is there are a number of things you can do yourself to increase the desirability of your home.
03. Mint Geo Metal Wall Hooks X2 Hall About The House (RRP $24.00)
04. Pot Geometric Sleeve Cranmore Home (RRP $34.95)
‘Styling’ a space for sale is not about throwing out all your old furniture and replacing it with new or rented belongings. Instead it is about refining, neutralising, decluttering and de-personalising the space. Professionals are often better placed to undertake this process as they do not have the emotional attachment to the home as the owners obviously will. However, it is definitely possible to step back and pass a critical eye over your space. Successful styling goes back to basics, considering the best way in which a home, may be used. Potential buyers are not sold on a house but a lifestyle. If your home can evoke emotion in a buyer - making them fall in love with your home so they can see themselves living there - you are just one step away from a sale! Decorating it to resemble something from a magazine or a reality renovation show may not necessarily be what buyers are looking for. A common misconception about property styling is that a home needs to be ‘pretty’ to attract the highest price. The house should instead be styled in a way that sits comfortably with the architecture and design of the home. There is no point trying to style a Queenslander with high gloss
10 styling tips to sell your home: 1. Neutralise rooms – strip the house of clutter, personal items and anything that interferes with buyers imagining themselves living there. 2. Ensure furniture and soft furnishings are in keeping with the property's architecture. 3. Ensure all furniture is scaled to fit spaces – smaller if the room is on the small side (a double bed instead of a king size), bigger if it's cavernous. 4. Keep spaces as open as possible. Don't back a lounge against a doorway and don't push furniture against a wall just to create roominess. Living spaces should centre around a conversation hub - perhaps with a rug to ‘ground’ the space. 5. Add pops of colour – fresh flowers on the table for open homes, throws draped over lounge suites, bright rugs or artwork can transform a room. 6. Invest in new accessories – cushions, throws and rugs can enliven a previously dull space. 7. Give the house a fresh look and smell – a coat of paint and a high pressure clean externally is a great idea. 8. Keep the driveway clear of cars - you never know when potential buyers may be driving past. 9. Hire a professional who isn't too close to the property and can introduce a dispassionate eye; one who knows the market you're styling for. Your real estate agent should be able to give you some pointers. 10. Enter the house as if you're a buyer not a seller and use this as a guide in what needs to go and what can stay.

So this Mother’s Day, why not bring the spa to Mum, by creating a simple ‘diy pamper pack’?
Mother’s Day
DIY PAMPER PACK By Sofie Buchholz
The hustle and bustle of daily life often leaves little room for parents to consider themselves. Mums particularly often place personal pampering last on the ‘to do list’. What day spa is open at 9pm when everyone is in bed and you have a moment to finally think about yourself?
The pamper pack featured has been made with relaxation in mind. A bath with some homemade bath salts will be sure to impress this Mother’s Day.
This Mother’s Day why not bring the spa to Mum by creating a simple ‘DIY Pamper Pack’? Consider making some simple homemade products and combine them with some inexpensive store bought products so mum can pamper herself at home. Your pamper pack could be made up of items specifically needed for a facial, pedicure or a general pack for relaxation. It is a great way for kids to be involved in the making of a gift. A homemade Mother’s Day gift is always a winner.
1/3 cup bicarbonate of soda
What you will need: 2 cups rock or sea salt 1 cup Epsom salts Few drops of essential oil Few drops of food colouring (optional) Airtight jar for storage In a small bowl measure out and combine rock salt, Epsom salts and bicarbonate of soda together. Add your chosen essential oil for fragrance and a few drops of food colouring if you wish to colour the bath salts. Stir all together and place into your chosen jar for storage and presentation.
Hint: When packaging up your ‘DIY Pamper Pack’ consider placing all items in a large jar tied with a simple ribbon. A jar of goodies is very much still on trend. Alternatively, the pamper pack could be set up ready in the bathroom for mum to enjoy straight away. For a more traditional pamper pack look, consider using a cardboard box or bag or a basket. If you wish to cover your ‘DIY Pamper Pack’ in cellophane consider buying a piece by the metre from a local florist. The cellophane quality is better and it will give your pamper pack a more professional finish.

Well Being
HUGS… keeping you healthy! Oxytocin. This amazing hormone is a critical part of our survival toolkit with an impressive capacity for regeneration and a skill set that outdoes everyone from Alicia Keyes to Zig Ziglar. Most of you will know Oxytocin as the childbirth hormone. Beyond this, Oxytocin can make everyone’s life better, every single day of your life. Released through touch, eye contact, intimacy, singing, dancing, creative endeavour, dining with friends and even Facebook interactions, Oxytocin has many positive effects. Oxytocin will improve your health and your desire to participate in healthy and fun activities and nature has kindly provided a renewable dispenser for you to optimise.
Simone Kay *The advice in this article is of a general nature only and is not intended to be prescriptive or used as a recommendation. For all your health and fitness needs please consult with a suitably qualified and experienced professional.
As parents, it’s easy to start this cycle of oxytocin right from birth with plenty of skin to skin contact for a newborn. Along with the benefits of improved body awareness (proprioception) the contact and subsequent hormone release supports bonding and feelings of safety and social connection.
As children get older and the parenting role is continuously re-defined, hugs and hand holding are great ways to get a daily dose and encouraging activities such as dancing, singing and watching good movies together can help to build those family bonds. With older children and adult friends you can stimulate the oxytocin release in social environments through sharing meals with family or friends, or exercising or playing together. Being healthy and fit is not about simply having a gym membership and turning up to do the same thing three to four times a week. DEALING WITH 'I'M TOO FAT' Recently I have been mentoring young people aged eight to 16 who have expressed they feel they are ‘too fat’ and that they are ‘not good enough’. I praise parents for recognising they need some positive reinforcement. Young people need to hear and realise they ARE ‘good enough’ and they are beautiful just the way they are. It takes me back to when I was in primary school: I compared my legs to my sister and I came to the conclusion that I was fat and not good enough. This false conclusion led me to fighting with anorexia in my teens and compulsive eating in my early twenties. I struggled for over a decade with low self-esteem and self-image. Then I learned about three strategies to a healthy body image and now share these with the people I mentor:
1. Focus on your awesomeness Putting a focus on what makes you YOU takes the focus off the body and onto other positive things. How? Create a collage or journal by writing, drawing or cutting out pictures of your interests, achievements, passions, personality, strengths, etc. This allows you to visualise how amazing you are and that you ARE unique and special. Learning to accept yourself helps you overcome comparison. 2. Limit viewing of negative imagery What you expose your mind to determines how you feel. Examples of negative imagery are tabloid magazines, extreme fitness models on Instagram and YouTube Channels. Instead, saturate your mind in positivity. Look at things like positive cards, posters, books and inspirational quotes on self-acceptance. Soak your mind in positive thoughts. Say: “I love who I am!”
3. Understand different body types When you are aware that each body is born as a certain ‘type’, it gives you the opportunity to accept yours. Embrace that no body type is better than the other. Discuss what fit and healthy means: It doesn’t mean how you look, it means looking after your body. Switch your focus from comparison to self-acceptance. You’ll be a happier and more confident person! TIME FOR A LAUGH
Baby Snake: Mummy, are we poisonous? Mother Snake: Yes, son. Why? Baby Snake: I just bit my tongue!
What my Mother taught me! My mother taught me RELIGION. "You'd better pray that will come out of the carpet." My mother taught me TIME TRAVEL. "If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!" My mother taught me FORESIGHT. "Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident." My mother taught me IRONY. "Keep crying, and I'll give you something to cry about." My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM. "Will you look at that dirt on the back of your neck!" My mother taught me about WEATHER. "This room of yours looks as if a tornado went through it." My mother taught me about ENVY. "There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do." My mother taught me about ANTICIPATION. "Just wait until we get home." My mother taught me about RECEIVING. "You are going to get it when you get home!" My mother taught me HUMOUR. "When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me." My mother taught me WISDOM. "When you get to be my age, you'll understand." My mother taught me about JUSTICE. "One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you"
What did the digital clock say to its mother? “Look, Ma! No hands!”
Son: Dad, do you know the difference between a pack of cookies and a pack of elephants? Dad: No. Son: Then it’s a good thing Mum does the grocery shopping!
Jack: What did the mother broom say to the baby broom? Bill: What? Jack: It’s time to go to sweep!
"BARK!" Mother to Son: I’m warning you. If you fall out of that tree and break both your legs, don’t come running to me! A mother mouse and a baby mouse are walking along when suddenly a cat attacks them. The mother mouse shouts “BARK!” and the cat runs away. “See?” the mother mouse says to her baby. “Now do you see why it’s important to learn a foreign language?”
