November 2015

Dear Friends, It’s my great privilege to welcome you to the 2nd Annual New York Art, Antique & Jewelry Show at the historic Park Avenue Campion Platt Armory. I am honored to Co-chair the Show Design Committee with the very talented Ellie Cullman. I’ve come to know Scott Diament and the Palm Beach Show Group very well as I chaired and curated the Designer Showcase at the Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show in early 2015 and was kindly asked to represent the design community as the Palm Beach Show Group’s new Design Ambassador moving into 2016 throughout the United States. Art and Antiques play such a crucial role in the design world, leaving an indelible mark in every room in which they are featured. The New York Show closes the fall fair season on an up-note, bringing over 80 high-quality international exhibitors together from numerous categories and eras – so whether a designer, serious collector or casual visitor, one is sure to find beautiful art and objects to suit any taste. Please join me in supporting this wonderful event. Warm regards,

Campion Platt Co-Chair Show Design Committee

SIR ALFRED MUNNINGS KCVO PRA (1878 - 1959) The Morning Ride Oil on canvas, signed and dated 1914. Frame size: 27 x 31in / 69 x 79cm PROVENANCE Private collection This painting will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné by Lorian Peralta-Ramos In 1914, when ‘The Morning Ride’ was painted, Munnings was based in Cornwall. This atmospheric painting is probably of Munnings’ friend and fellow artist, Doris H. Proctor, commonly known as ‘Dod’. The loose brushwork suggests that this was not a commissioned painting, but rather an image of a friend on which Munnings could work without the constraints of formal portraiture which so frustrated him in later life. 100
