Dear Panaga School Community,

Recently, parents were invited to complete an opinion survey about Panaga School. This survey asked parents their response to the statement Panaga School is a good school. For several years, parent’s have been asked to respond to this statement, as an indicator for the value that employees have for the services that Panaga School offers BSJV expatriate staff.

The result from this year’s Parent Opinion Survey was that 96% of parents agree that Panaga School is a good school.

Our promise is to chase a forever moving target for success. We maintain an open door way of operating, in support of our school community. The learning journey of our students is our priority, as we individualise learning and support each and everyone of our children in their social, emotional and academic development.

Throughout this academic year Panaga School has gained academic data, student opinions, parent opinions and learning reviews from two forums (international stream and Dutch NTC), to assist with evidence to inform our strategic planning.

At the end of this month, parents will be invited to a parent information session where we will present outcomes from this academic year and preparations for the following. It is intended that this parent session will be conducted online, to allow a virtual introduction of new members of the Senior Leadership Team to our school community. As soon as relevant approvals allow the announcement of our new senior leaders, we will also announce the date and times for our end of year parent information sessions.

Once Upon a Time…

This half-term, the children in Mendaram are learning all about story-telling through the IEYC unit, ‘Once Upon aTime’. We kick started the theme with a visit from a very special story-teller, who told us the story of ‘The 3 Billy Goat’s Gruff’.The children then went on to build bridges, re-tell the story with puppets and in drawing club. We are looking forward to telling many more stories.

Thank

Art and Props ASA for the Little Muncher

Many children joined the Prop Making ASA. We learnt to colour mix with only primary colours and used a variety of tools to paint with. We had fun making fans, flowers, bins, headband and other props. The background painting was the biggest challenge.

M1 have been learning about sound energy, thinking about longitudinal and transverse waves.

They have carried out some modelling activities to demonstrate the difference between longitudinal and transverse waves. Also, how the speed of sound varies depending on the medium it is passing through.
