Today was International Women's Day: a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It was definitely a celebration here at school with a plethora of activities, presentations and performances. Thank you so much to our guest speakers ('Rock Star' Miss Mariana, Dr. Pervesh, and Miss Nova) our parents, and to our staff team, led by Miss Danni, Miss Peta and Miss Mia for organising such a rich, inclusive event filled with celebration, inspiration and hope. The real stars were of course our students who made it such a spectacular day, being such welcoming, knowledgeable hosts and coaches. The students that performed and spoke to the audience of parents and teachers in the hall were incredible, showing such confidence, creativity, insight and reflection: congratulations to Greta, Elena, Lucianna, Edward, Amelia, Josh, Mary, Llewellyn, Safiya, Vidyuth,andOllie.Photosfromtheeventwillfollowinthenextedition.
Last Friday we celebrated Brunei National Day. It was also a wonderful celebration of the country we are privileged to live and work in. Thank to Miss Sur, Miss Melissa and the team for brightening up everybody's day with colour, joy, danceandstories.
Congratulations to our BSJV footballers who competed in the football championshipsonTuesday.Wetooksixteams, threeboysandthreegirls, and everyone represented the school tremendously well, winning five championships-whatanachievement! ThankyoutoMr.Nathanandallofour coachesfortheirhardworkduringthedayandleadinguptoit.
Enjoy reading about all of the learning that has been happening in and out of the classrooms, with plenty of entry and exit points and school trips. There are also lots of events planned, many led by our PTA - please read to the end to findoutmore.
At present, our school calendar states the school will be closed on Tuesday to mark the start of Ramadan but this may change on Sunday evening, dependent on the sighting of the moon - it could possibly be Monday (so the school would close on Monday and we would be open on Tuesday). We will notify you on Sunday evening via email and through the WhatsApp Parent Rep Groups.
BestWishes,
Brian,SLTandallofourstaffOn Friday 1st March, Panaga school celebrated Brunei 40th National Day. Students and staff dressed up in Brunei flag colours. The assembly began with a patriotic flag waving parade, before entering the hall to sing the Brunei National Anthem followed by traditional Bruneian dance, amazing performance all about Brunei and ended with short quiz. This was a fabulous opportunity for the students to gain more knowledge about their host country and understand the traditions better.

P3 ‘Bright Sparks’ Entry Point
P3 were wowed as Seria Energy Lab came to school to present a ‘Science Show’! This got the children very excited for their new unit of IPClearning!
P4 enjoyed their trip to The Regalia Museum, Bandar.
As part of our IPC unit, Treasure, P4 visited the Regalia museum to see the treasures that belong to the royal family and Brunei. We enjoyed see the gifts our home countries have given to the Sultan.
“My most favourite treasure in the museum was the Iban Shield and sword. The shape and colours were beautiful.
The puzzles were so fun but very challenging.
“Thesultan’scarriagechairwasbeautifulandmadeofgold. ThesoldierswerewearingBruneiantraditionalclothes.”
We learned that nearly all of the treasures in the museum are genuine and not replicas.

BJSLFootball Success
Our students performed incredibly well at the BJSL Football Tournament held at ISB on Tuesday 5th March. The training sessions in PE and ASAs paid off as our teams stormed home to win 5 out of the 6 tournaments. Their fitness combined with their personal qualities were contributing factors in their success. Wins for P5 Boys and Girls, P6 Boys and Girls and P7 Boys were undoubtedly the highlight of the day.
A Special Thanks goes to all the coaches who prepared the students in the lead-up and on the day of the event and to the parents who came along to support.
P6 had the pleasure of hosting a visit from the Year 5 (P6) children at JIS.
The children from JIS stopped off at Panaga School on their way to their residential trip in Miri.
All the children worked cooperatively to complete a selfie scavenger hunt challenge. Some new friends were made and we really hope that there will be further opportunities like this.
P6 Bowling QTrip
OnThursday, the P6 children visited the Go Strike Bowling Alley, Seria as part of our IPC learning about Forces.
The children had fun, putting forces into action and watching the effects of forces in action at the BowlingAlley.
