Panaga School Yearbook 2018-2019

Page 1

Engaged families, respectful and enquiring students, high quality teachers and teaching assistants, committed support staff, a supportive company and wider school community make for the excellence that is Panaga School.

I trust you will enjoy looking through the pages of your 2018/2019 Panaga School Yearbook, which celebrates all members of our school community and the teaching and learning that is central to all that we do. Panaga School continues to operate as an excellent school, evidenced in education consultant feedback, parent and staff opinions, as well as our students’ learning progress (captured through internal and external academic results). More so, Panaga School remains central to the community and a base of connection for our students who are experiencing the unique lifestyle of the expatriate world. Panaga School faces constant change, with a continuous rotation of students and community members. This year, we have said farewell to, and in return welcomed, more than 200 students in total. The rich tapestry of Panaga School’s ever changing landscape is kept strong through the consistent efforts of all, for the benefit of our children. This year, Panaga School celebrated 70 years of teaching and learning. We currently have 450 students on roll, with more than 29 nationalities represented. We are a school community united in learning, local and international mindedness and company connection. May all Panaga School students treasure this Yearbook as a reminder of the learning experiences they have had and the friendships they have made through their time in beautiful Brunei Darussalam. Thank you to everybody who contributes to Panaga School in so many ways. Thank you to the many hands that have worked together to create this high-quality Yearbook. Special thanks to our editor, Mr Damian, who has worked tirelessly to ensure this Yearbook provides a fitting showcase for our students to reflect on their unique experience of living and learning amidst the Borneo jungle. - Cindy Bin Tahal

At Rampayoh, we have so much fun learning to move in different ways. Together, with music playing, we discover new movements we can do with our bodies. We are continuing to practise valuable skills such as throwing, catching and moving safely around each other. We use these skills in the games we play during PE.

We extended our knowledge using resilience, enquiry and adaptability. For our International learning, we researched new information and facts about medicine from the rainforest.

We really like our new playground equipment and we think we use all of our personal qualities when playing. We planned a fair test to find out which flowers attract the most insects. Using our skills of enquiry and cooperation, we achieved our learning target.

Imagine our surprise to find that plants are resilient. We grew this plant from a seed, it was the last one to germinate and has survived the longest. Is it adaptable? When learning about roots, we discovered interesting roots all around Panaga. We used our cooperation, respect and communication skills to learn together.
